Had my Tesco bank credit card for around 9 years and I've not had an issue. When I failed to make a few payments many many years ago, Tesco bank did the responsible thing and decreased my credit limit. I get many offers by being a existing customer that helps manage my finances. Customer service isn't the best, so I have avoided contacting them for around 5 years since they aren't at all very helpful. They didn't update my change of address to my credit card, but they did to my clubcard (which is linked to my credit card) very strange. I'd suggest using online banking if you do choose Tesco bank.

Awful, awful, awful customer service team. No intelligence, or ability to think for themselves.

I took out an insurance policy with Tesco but then realised I could go on a cheaper tier with them. So I cancelled my first policy to take out a new one. I didn't receive a refund for the first one and have been told twice that the money should be in my account any day now. Still waiting... To top it off I spoke to the team via Facebook as I was told by the telephone team that there is no email support (in 2017...) who then asked me to confirm confidential details via FACEBOOK and then told me I would need to telephone the customer service team. When I telephoned the extremely incompetent customer service team they told me that there is no Tesco Bank facebook page, even though I spoke to the team via their official Facebook page. I am just glad that all I'm trying to do it get a refund and not make a claim. Good luck to anyone who presents the customer service team with a real issue!

Tesco bank failed to update my address when I moved, resulting in no statements being sent and missed payments. They accepted they made errors but still charged me disproportionately. Needless to say I'm no longer a customer for banking or groceries.

They've just price matched a quote I had seen with them online to the annual premium I had from them through the post and I have reduced my insurance premium by £400+

Where should I start? They cannot operate a simple direct debit, have been trying to sort this out since April - 5 months. They told me I'd have to wait while they investigated it. Eventually got a reply telling me to contact my main bank HSBC saying that HSBC were at fault. I had to contact HSBC only to find as I expected, that HSBC were not at fault - Tescobank were at fault. They now tell me that I have to wait another 40 working days before they can complete their investigation - what do they need to investigate now? HSBC wrote to them in August and told them what they had done. They couldn't operate a "piggy bank" . Have written to Benny Higgins, their CEO who has passed the matter to their Executive Complaints Team who seem to be as incompetent as the rest of them!

Extremely poor and stressful to deal with. The call handler repeatedly lied to me (I found this out through a FOI request to get hold of my file from Tesco. Perhaps this was a one-off and my claims handler is just a poor excuse for a human being, or perhaps they were being told what to do by Tesco - I will never know. However, reading other reviews it seems I am not the only one. Had to go through the Financial Ombudsman twice, and won twice, so Tesco were told to put things right, and even then they made it as difficult as possible in a stressful situation of suffering a flood. My flood happened over four years ago and still not sorted out! Tesco should be ashamed of themselves for how they have dealt with my family. Or at least the claims handler should. Unfortunately they probably go through their day to day lives treating people in such a disgusting way, but I do hope they never have to go through what they have put me through.

While being with Tesco bank they have had great customer service. I had somebody use my card fraudulently and they stopped the transactions before they went through. I feel they have assisted me in everything I've asked for I'm one happy customer!

Extremely poor customer service bordering on the criminal to be honest. Blatant breach of moral contract based on obfuscated letter of written contract. People who care about their own wellbeing should avoid tescobank

There are good points about the Tesco Loan system, but Tesco fails on a very important one. I must complete my end of year accounts for HMRC and for this I must produce evidence of all financial transactions for the last year. I bank online with Tesco and am supposed to be able to 'manage' my account with them. However, I am unable to pull up a loan statement covering the last financial year online. Apparently this is something which must be done by someone at the bank and I must then endeavour to find a window of time within a 48 hour or a 24 hour period (depending on who I talk there) when I can 'catch' sight of my statement online and print it out for the tax man. On two occasions I have contacted Tesco and made time available for this and on both occasions a statement has not appeared online. Not only has this wasted my time, but it has caused no end of frustration at a very busy time of year. Why are we not considered grown up enough to manage our own accounts to the point where a simple statement can be requested electronically and it be available within minutes? I now have to telephone Tesco again and ask them, again, for something that could have been in the hands of my accountant yesterday.
