Treated with contempt after 42 years membership. Offered a renewal with a 36% price hike, I contacted them 5 times and kept being told someone would look at the price and call back. I did get one call back at an inappropriate time but that was pointless as he said he couldn't do anything as 'the computers were down'. In my last conversation with a representative I was told they could 'see these notes on my file' and the policy was now cancelled. No interest in retaining my business and no customer service. I guess the AA is just another venture capital business now. I can't imagine how much business the AA has gained in 42 years from my recommendation, both in person and via the various car and motorhome club forums that I am involved with but no longer. I have now removed all the AA badges from my vehicles in disgust. Brian Crewes Cumbria

What a sham, joined up in 2004 and as a mechanic you still cant fix your own car without tools and parts so happily joined, over the years the prices kept going up and up, you had to either cancel and re join or call and moan, i also added my partner, (more piece of mind), but at over £120 a year!!! The best they could offer was to add my children to a policy? I broke down a few weeks ago and whilst broke down in the services an aa patrol came over and told me to ask for a low loader as a normal van would attend otherwise and wouldn't be able to help me, after a nightmare of trying to get through i was point blank refused, told i would have to go through the motions, a patrol to say yes was unfixable and then await a recovery truck, i cancelled the recovery and paid for a local firm to recover the van. 16 years of loyal service and paying through the nose every year the first time i need them i have a rig moral to go through. Being a garage and doing the aa warranty repair work also i feel i have been well and truly stung, i look after the AA for there customers through my garage and there warranty sheme yet i cant even be recovered from the side of the road that i pay for? A complaint was made and no acknowledgement, then today 5 weeks later getting a random call saying due to there terms its how it works, what a waste of time and resources, no wonder people are at the road side for hours!!! Five months into the claim and still not fully settled. Very slow although coved19 played a part during the lockdown.

I had a minor accident earlier on this year when i was hit by another vehicle that drove over double white broken lines and hit the rear of my vehicle. The AA handled this claim very efficiently, and I cannot praise them enough.

Very affordable ,easily understood policy. When I had a query it was answered quickly to my satisfaction. I have been with AA roadside and recovery for years and have found the same personal care and attention to detail with their insurance. Everything explained and a human being to talk to if you need one . This policy saved me over £200 .

I had a flat battery, the mechanic was trying to convince me to buy a new battery and that my was not good any more, he had in the van , £106 pounds.. All I needed was a clamp .. this is how ripping takes a place .. apparently they get a percentage/bounce from this scam....

My car had supposedly been fixed, so I drove from Somerset to Manchester to see my daughter. However, the car would not start when I was getting ready to drive home. I called the AA at 9am and a wonderful man called Paul arrived in 65 mins and got it going. He kindly agreed to follow me to the garage to fill up the car, just in case it would not start. Guess what, it didn't!! Paul checked everything and eventually he said it would have to be towed to Somerset. However, because of Covid 19, I couldn't travel with the AA to home ☹️ Paul was amazing . . . he called his office, who arranged for a taxi to collect me, take me to Enterprise hire cars, who had a car ready for me to drive back to Somerset 😃 Totally amazing service ❤️❤️ Thank you so very much ❤️❤️❤️

Following a period of lockdown abroad we needed help to start our car. However having missed our service date we were told that our Ford Assist had elapsed. No help available other than to pay a surcharge of close to £100. ‘The 4th. Emergency Service ‘ I don’t think so. The RAC were very helpful and responded straight away!

I am happy with my Policy and glad that I changed to the AA. It’s a good flexible policy that has allowed me to add other drivers for short periods, with additional charges of course
