I have been with the AA for 2 months and I called back 5 times to make sure I was covered for everything, to which they confirmed I was. My car was badly damaged during a police incident where i was a bystander, the police closed the road and i was unable to move my vehicle. As a result I claimed on my insurance and the advisor stated that my car would be deemed as a 'write off,' I had to argue that my car needed to be taken to storage and eventually it was. Despite previously calling 5 times to confirm i was covered in the event of any incident, i have been told I do not have the Car Hire Add On (which is free). I was then told, despite being Fully Comprehensive that I am not eligible to drive other cars without being a Named Driver as I am now classed as 'not having physical access to a vehicle' even though my car has not been confirmed as a write off by a mechanic. It has been 12 days, I have no access to a vehicle, had no updates despite calling every day. Today after an hour on hold to the engineering team, they confirmed that my car is still in storage and the storage company refused access to my vehicle when the AA attempted to recover it... the AA have left my car there and not attempted to recover my vehicle since. In my 6 years of driving, I have never been involved in any accident or claim. The way I have been treated is absolutely disgusting and I have contacted Trading Standards and The Ombudsman.

My exhaust came loose while on staycation in Co Wexford had driven up from Cork. It was nearly hanging off but within an hour the AA came to my rescue and fixed it and it would have been a disaster otherwise, They're brilliant and I greatly appreciate all their help today thanks so much 🤗 🤗

We broke down on the final day of our holiday in Cornwall last week. The AA promised to get us and our car home via recovery vehicle. This arrived as promised at 7.45 am and took us as far as Bridgewater, when the driver said he had no further driving time allowed and someone else would pick us up. We waited from 12.30pm until 7.45pm for the next recovery vehicle. During this time the AA - largely unreachable by phone - had promised we would be collected at 4pm, but no one had arrived. This second recovery vehicle loaded us all on board and proceeded to break down about an hour later. We were left at Gordano services in the dark, everything closing down around us, with no offer of completing our further 200 mile journey home to Lancashire. The second recovery driver had recommended I call the AA and insist on a taxi home. Again, it took some considerable time to reach the AA, but a taxi was ordered and we arrived home at around 2am, eighteen hours after originally being picked up. I appreciate it was an extremely busy day, but we had been dumped and abandoned twice. The AA needs to hire more staff and more recovery vehicles instead of leaving people stranded for hours on end. The 'service' we received that day was appalling. We will not be continuing to use the AA and certainly could not recommend it to anyone.

I have had joint breakdown cover for with the AA for 17 years. The latest renewal was much higher than that offered to new customers. Customer services came close to matching it but not close enough! Obviously loyal customers are not important. Farewell AA and hello RAC who did match the offer!

Total and utter shambles! I had a puncture yesterday at 3pm which needs a new tyre. Complete incompetency by AA means I haven’t managed to get away on holiday yesterday evening, and it’s still not fixed! Serious training issue here! Wrong information given by AA call handler. To say I’m upset is an understatement!

I went with The AA due to the reasonable cost and the fact that they are a large and well known brand. They requested, via email, proof of NCB which I provided the following day to both the original sender and the special email address they provided. A while later they emailed to say the insurance was cancelled with immediate effect as I had not responded to their email request for proof of NCB. I telephoned to try to sort out the matter and the woman on the phone really could not care less. She made that very clear. A proper jobsworth! I could speak to sales and try to create a new policy but could not resurrect the current/old one as it was closed. End of story. Multiple emails to them produced no response at all and even emails to the Directors produced no response at all. So, I bought a policy with RIAS instead for a very similar price and no need to send proof of NCB as they just logged in to the insurers common records for evidence. My opinion now of the AA is MINUS 5 stars!!

Thursday 22nd 2021 I broke down at Junction 33 on the M1 at 16.15 I rang the AA straight away. As where I broke down, I was prioritised to a 30 minute rescue. 3 WHOLE HOURS AFTER, I was still sat behind the barrier, in the baking sun and at this point well dehydrated. I received a call from AA asking where I am again because they (for some weird and bizarre reason) thought I was broken down at Junction 23 at Leicester. Luckily my friend (Shaun Baugh) who works for the AA started his shift at 17.30. He seen a post I put on Facebook about being stranded for 3 hours. He pulled some strings with his management and he came to recovery car at 19.00. He even brought me an ice cold bottle if water, to which I appreciated so much because dehydration was really taking over. Shaun took me straight to my door and arranged for a van driver to come and check my car over. Shaun went over and beyond to get to me and made sure I got home safely. If it wasn't for him, then my star rating for the AA would have been 1 star and that would have been generous.

I accidentally cancelled my trip. Anyway, tried not to panic while I figured out what to do. Spoke on the phone with a really nice man (Chris) who helped me figure it out without overcharging me or making me re-book the entire trip. Great service

Careful the AA like to cancel your cover without notifying you, they are very pushy on trying to get you to renew your cover each year, had big problems with theses all because I didn't want to renew, they robbed me of some cover that I had payed for becarful

The AA run on a 48 hour backlog, do not join, youre better spending your money elsewhere. Leaving long haul breakdowns in dangerous situations. We have broken down from Scotland to Suffolk. Being left without any information when the next relay driver will be likely to arrive and having called at 6pm, it’s now 4am the next day and we’re only two hours down the road from our initial location. Without information on when the next driver is likely to arrive you are unable to rest, let alone feel comfortable or safe. The customer service team and disingenuous and tell lies to get you off the phone. This is by far one of the worst services I’ve ever received and having been a loyal customer 12 years, this is the first use of the breakdown cover and I’m appalled. Shame on you AA

The AA came up on Go Compare as the lowest price car insurance. It was simple to purchase, there was the option to pay monthly, which was helpful to me, and it was simple to download my documents. I could also have chosen to receive my documents in the post . Overall I'm very pleased with the service but cannot comment on claims experience.

I have to wait 1.5 hours for a patrol to come out that's acceptable but I have now been waiting just short of 4 hours for a recovery truck I have been told that nothing available yet. They need to up their game now we're coming out of any restrictions for travel. Sad that you can leave a 65 year Old man who had a major heart operation and who's suffering with copd at the side of the road for that length of time

I will never use AA again, they are the worse customer service ever. They cancelled my ticket without previous notification and i had to buy another ticket costing me triple the amount...i will never use their service again. I will make sure that my family do not use their service as well.. i will tell even my friend about my experience so they will not use their service as well
