Hi, broke down on Saturday at 3:30 in the afternoon and did not get collected till 1115 at night nine times they put back my Collection time I was sat at the side of the road with my motorbike for eight hours cold wet and hungry, I did offer to get me home in a taxi and somebody would collect my motorbike the next day. How stupid a suggestion that was do they really think it would still be there the next day ,disgusting Customer Service, Today I finally got through and made a complaint and they have offered me a miserable £50 compensation. Do they really think that’s going to make me feel better I’ve been a member since 1985 and I spend over £400 a year for full family member gold membership ,they won’t be getting any of my money this year. I don’t deserve to be in business. The only thing I will say the chap who did come out and pick me up was really good. Very friendly and very careful with my Motor Bike. It made me think of the old saying lions lead by donkeys

On the 31st of january I had to call the AA as my car had broken down towing my trailer. We were at a dangerous part of a slip road leading onto a motorway where lorries and other vehicles sped past us. With me was my partner and dog. I notified the AA on my app and received a txt message at 18.13 informing me that the AA would be with us at 19.40pm There was no where for us to go. We were in the middle of nowhere. The temperature was getting close to 2degrees. The AA arrived just after the time slot that I was given. However the car could not be fixed and we would needed to be towed home. The AA man could not tow us because of the trailer. He arranged for a pick up truck to collect us via his ipad. He gave us an estimate time of pick of an hour and a half. Jump 9-1/2 hours later we finally got onto a tow tuck, arranged by us and with the help of HIGHWAY PATROL. If it was not for them we would have suffered hyperthermia. They gave us foil blankets as the temperature was freezing. During the time waiting i was receiving txt messages from RICHFORD MOTOR SERVICES. Each txt giving us different time slots of when we would be collected. I phoned the company twice. Both times the same man answered. He was not apologetic and treated the call as it was a joke. I called the AA 4 times. Twice I was advised to book into a hotel. Twice i was advised to leave my keys on my tyre and to get a cab home for the remainder of the journey. A call that I made to the AA at 5.02am was the call that totally tipped me over the edge. I was in absolute tears. The woman on the phone was rude, abrupt, no compassion to our situation. I was shaking and in floods of tears after getting off of the call. This was when the HIGHWAY PATROL intervened. Liasing with an AA call handler and organising with HIGHWAY PATROL we were able to use the company MOUNT PLEASANT break down services. We finally was on the road home at 5.40am. We finally got home at 9.07am. On the 2/2/2024 I received an email from the AA. The letter was to apologise for the AA letting us down. The letter stated that they were sorry for us waiting 7hrs! What about the remainder of 4hrs!! What about the advise in leaving my vehicle unattended, what about being left in a very dangerous area in freezing conditions for 11hrs. In the letter sent from Michelle Mckenna she requested a cheque to be sent to me for £80 as an apology. Today 12th of March there still is no cheque! My partner lost a days work as we got home at 9.07am the next day. I lost a days work. It is an utter insult to be offered £80, it is also a double insult to not even recieve it when it was promised. Once again let down by the AA. I would like to acknowledge that as of today I have cancelled my AA membership. They still use RICHFORD MOTOR SERVICES as a breakdown company even though 64% of their reviews are 1star. Highway patrol were our heroes. Mount Pleasant breakdown services went over and beyond their help fo us.

Call the airbreakdown service on the 8th of February, got charged 3 times called them for a refund. It took them over a month to give my refund. They paid it in 3 instruments. Do anything give me the right amount every time and it was a shambles, the level of incompetence on doing a refund. Was horrendous.

Tonight I needed the AA as the battery was broken in my Toyota cross hybrid car and needed replacing , I cannot say enough good things about the lad Grant Watson who attended to my car he was absolutely brilliant, very quick to arrive and quickly had my car sorted. I cannot thank Grant enough and he is truly an asset to the AA company. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Grant and like I said to you at the time, not all hero’s wear capes 👍

They stole my daughter disability grant for driving lessons and blamed a third party driving instructor that they instructed they have refused to help get her grant money back I found the AA a complete incompetence company that isn't run properly and doesn't care about public disability people being scamed and coned out of the grant money avoid AA driving lessons they cone you out of money

Hit a pot hole. They couldn’t attend for a least 4 hrs, so cancelled the call lucky I was local and arranged a lift home. Next day went back took the wheel to have a new tyre fitted. 2 weeks later my daughter had a popped tire 10.30 at night alone middle of no where had a minimum wait of 4hr wait. Been with the AA since 2003 useless and will not be rejoining RAc or green flag

I am totally disgusted couple month back very both disabled and priority very cold 5 hours they took last year a very important funeral I missed as was 3 late for that kept changing times. Worse one was I have been 12 years with them and pay £29 a month this year they put it up to just over £66 without tell me I called on December about it they send me a blank email said they would send another and never bothered so was shocked they more than double the price lot of money out of my pension and was not helpful so now cancelled it total disgusting for a pensioner who is disabled so much for being a loyal customer

If there was an option to write the review without giving any star,I would ve done that. The worst customer services ever. They will take ages to approve the claim, even tough if it is approved ,will try to divide a same claim into two or more incidents.

I have just got off a call where I have, for the second time, tried to cancel my cover. I have had £45 robbed by this appalling organisation. Despite very clearly saying I wanted to cancel in December last year they simply renewed the cover increasing the price by 200% in the process. Avoid the AA like the plague. I have used RAC and Green Flag previously and will always be using one them going forward.

My son is currently stuck with his car after being towed by a third party recovery vehicle to a service station, they would not recover the car and take him to his home as the mechanic had been working since 8am. My son is still waiting 8hrs later. Absolutely appalling service, do not bother calling the AA for help, there isn't any!! If they can't provide the service they shouldn't take customers money!!

Ridiculous! Even after being given a time for someone coming that was an hour and a half after we reported the breakdown from our car, we were than pushed back in 5 minute intervals by text...six times!! The seventh time was 50 minutes!!! The reason? Someone else's need was more important!! We ended up cancelling! A joke!!!

Ths is the second time this year that I've waited over 6 hours for AA recovery. I've been with the AA over 10 years but will be leaving them this August when my membership ends and switching to another company.

During terrible weather, our car stalled and wouldn't restart. I called AA and was told due to demand it would be up to 2 days before they could attend and it would be better to call a local recovery company at my expense. I explained that I had an 84-year-old disabled passenger, and they agreed to put me on a next to attend that could take up to 8 hours, I agreed as we were stranded in a built-up area with no access to trains or buses. The patrol arrived after 6hrs, and without leaving his vehicle he told me he could not help me as I probably drove through a puddle that caused the engine to stop and the AA DIDN'T COVER THIS AND WON'T RECOVER MY VEHICLE. The patrol who was very unhelpful told me he was leaving without offering any assistance to me or my passengers. By chance, a police vehicle was in attendance at the time and the police had to ask the AA patrol to get the vehicle off the road and to a safe location, he was not happy with assisting. So the AA advert telling you that they cover all events is wrong!! I also discovered through this incident that by using the service you may see an increase in your premium when you renew. I have been a member for 39 years and used the service about 12 times in that period. I arranged a lift from my son a round trip of 60 miles to assist. We returned the next day and jump-started the vehicle. I contacted the AA complaints they investigated and agreed we were poorly treated and offered us £70. The service is not user-friendly and there is no loyalty to them. They are now driven by subscriptions and higher yearly premiums. Shop around there are better companies on the market!!!!

Patrol Arrived fast but was in a small transit van. Said they couldn’t help because it was an accident due to hitting a pothole. Told me to call aa accident helpline where I’d have to pay to get it recovered (likely 120-130 quid) he then gave me the number and left. When I called, and after all the usual option pressing and statements it was finally answered by a timid Malaysian?!? 12 year old girl that sounded like she was in the kitchen, she said my registration number wouldn’t come up after repeating it to her phonetically 3 times, I gave up and found a local firm who could do the job. That’s the AA blacklisted for me. Never again.

We had to call the AA yesterday, it took them 30min to get to us and 30 minutes to repair ,from start to finish from telephoning them to repair a key that would not turn, Tony was brilliant we have been with them for years and have the home start as well, well worth the money. Thanks Pat & Eric.
