Hi Robert, I think there was a bit of confusion here. Your order was picked and shipped on 9/2 and delivered on 9/4. The order was only in transit for two days. It doesn't look like you ever reached out to our customer service team about the quality of the chile. If the customer doesn't contact us, we never know about the problem. Was the chile spoiled? The dried red chile pods 4lb bag arrived and the seeds were everywhere when I opened the box. A big mess! Suggestion: Put in paper bag before shipping.

Hi Ruby, Were the seeds coming out of the box? All of our products should be shipped in a sealed outer box. That way, the seeds don't get everywhere. Thanks, The Hatch Chile Store

I first ordered a 5lbs box of mild with no freshness guarantee postage. Then I ordered a 25lbs of mild. First I received 25lbs of blisteringly hot that were wilted and moldy. Subsequently, I reviewed the 5lbs box of mild in great shape. I was disappointed.

Was disappointed in the chili. Ordered med and it is mild no kick at all. Don't know if it was a mistake or what.

Hello Danny, We do apologize to hear the Joe Parker did not satisfy your personal heat preference. We do have it posted on our Website that our 2020 crop was running on the milder side so everyone is aware that each heat variety is not to it's normal heat levels. Thanks, The Hatch Chile Store

The chiles are good as I ordered the rellonos. I was hoping for spicier as in the new Mexico spice but they are still good, even the kids like them

We weren't happy with the chile, it wasn't as meaty as I have gotten from Harmons store in Ogden UT. It was thin and very hard to pell after we roasted it on the grill. Not Happy with it. Sorry

Unfortunately received my chili’s and there was spoilage and not as fresh as years past. When I called to inform you I was told you were short on processors due to virus and was told I should have overnighted my order. I use the same shipping every year. I was also not willing to pay for another order

Chili arrived as expected and in decent conditions upper layer of box larger chili's with lower layer very small (2-3"). We purchased a medium-hot and hot variety (25lbs each) and found after having roasted chili for the last few days that the medium-hot had a fair flavor with little to know heat and the Hot had a hint of heat but certainly not the spice we were looking for perhaps we are not choosing the right variety but heat was not as advertised. Also note that they only ship on Tuesdays. We placed our order on a Tuesday afternoon and wasn't shipped until a week later.

As usual the hatch chiles were very good after roasting. The only complaint was that about 20% of the chiles were rotting and had to be tossed.

Hi JJ, It doesn’t look like you ever reached out to our customer service team about the issue. I’m afraid we don’t know about the issue unless the customer contacts us. I pulled up your order and saw that you did select 2-Day Air when checking out. We guarantee all Fresh chile orders which are shipped using 2-Day Air. About how many pounds of chile did you lose to spoilage? Please send us photos of the spoiled chile that you received. As soon as we get those photos we will schedule a reshipment! Thanks, Taylor

The peppers i got were not what picture showed slim. The peppers i got were big and were not hot whatsoever. They tasted like bell peppers. I ordered extra hot. My 7 yr old had one and said it was not hot at all. I was very dissapointed. I was expecting a very hot order.

Hi Ana, I can see that you were not satisfied with the heat level you received. I am so sorry about that, heat level is very subjective. Lumbre is extremely hot and we have not been getting any complaints about its heat level this year. I'm afraid we do not carry any hotter varieties of chile so there isn't much we can do here. I love hatch chili! I ordered mild, and got quite a few hot chili’s. I was disappointed because unfortunately much to my disappointment, I can’t eat hot chili’s anymore. I wish I would have gotten 100% of what I paid for.

Hi Rosela, We never mix varieties within a box when packing. I'm so sorry the chile was a bit too hot for you to eat. Maybe there was just some kind of fluke this year with the 1904, typically it has little to no heat. Out of 10 pounds that you sent us about 9 chillies were welted in smash the order was one day late otherwise chillies for great.

Love the chilies. The delay was explained in a reactive rather than proactive way. I should not have to write and ask where my order is if conditions such as Covid and lack of workers are affecting your business. Proactively inform people. But love the chilies always.

Hi Deb, It looks like you pre-order was for our Fresh Big Jim. We just started harvesting Big Jim on 8/18. Your order was shipped out the following week 8/25. As soon as we knew Covid-19 was going to cause some pretty severe labor issue with harvesting we did put a note up on each product page as well as a warning bar that pops up when you visit our website. First time buy, and I have to admit I was disappointed. I didn’t get very many Big Jim’s and they are not very spicy. I almost felt like I got Anaheim’s, sorry.

Hi Patrick, It doesn't look like you ever reached our to our customer service team about this issue. We the customer doesn't reach out, we never know about the problem. Have you roasted the chile already? Are you de-veining them or something along the lines of that? All of the heat in the pods will be in the vein (the fleshy structure which runs up the side of the pod) and this should never be removed. The chile needs to be roasted and peeled in order to taste the classic "New Mexican" flavor and heat of Big Jim. Thanks, The Hatch Chile Store
