Was a little disappointed, about a third were too old and some were so little and dry, but some were nice and big and peeled well and were great. But I will try ordering some chili rellenoes and see how that works soon. Shirley

Hi Shirley, It doesn't look like you ever reached out to our customer service team about this issue. If we don't know about the problem, we don't have a chance to fix it. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience here! I pulled up your order and saw that you did order one of our 5lb boxes that came with free shipping. We guarantee all orders for 5lb boxes. About how many pounds of chile did you lose to spoilage? Please send us photos of the spoiled chile that you received. As soon as we get those photos we will schedule a reshipment! Thanks, Taylor

I pulled up your order and saw that you did select 2-Day Air when checking out. We guarantee all Fresh chile orders which are shipped using 2-Day Air. About how many pounds of chile did you lose to spoilage? Please send us photos of the spoiled chile that you received. As soon as we get those photos we will schedule a reshipment! Thanks, Taylor

There was a little more spoilage than I expected, but I don't know that it was abnormal. Maybe a dozen peppers with half mold or otherwise spoiled. But the ones I roasted were excellent. Perfect heat level, exactly what I was expecting. Good flavor. I probably will not order again, because I don't get them any earlier than the grocery store. I found a local store where I can get them for $2/lb, and I can pick out the ones I want. With the shipping charge over $30, I'm not sure that's going to pencil out again. If anything, in the future, I will look into ordering roasted chiles rather than fresh ones. But all in all, I would not hesitate to recommend you folks. Thanks so much!

By in large I believe that the product they delivered was good. There was a couple of beat up Chili’s but otherwise pretty solid and fresh. It appears that they lost my first delivery and had to wait for a second. This was a bit frustrating but otherwise they took care of the issue.

We never received shipping confirmation so we’re surprised on Thursday to find a box of chiles at our door. Roasted them the next day but we still found about 6 chiles that were “fuzzy” and unusable. Also, we ordered the Chargers, expecting a medium hot chile. So far they’ve been pretty mild. Not the awesome burn of heat we grew to love living in southern NM.

I have ordered from here several times and been very satisfied with the product and the service. Recently I tried to order fresh product chilies and the results were not so good. about half the box of product was ruined upon receipt, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, just for the main reason its not worth the risk. It was very expensive to only have half the product use able. customer service was great to talk to, but in the end I still only ended up with half the ordered product.

Poor quality control; and it reflects. Apparently, chile is tossed in and weighed in the shipping box. I believe my second order is yet to be packed/mailed. My second order is a 10 pounds of mild. The second order is a gift to my 75 year old sibling going to Thorton, Colorado. Hope that box 📦 is not a disappointment to him.

I received the order; however, it was wrong. It contained two orders of tamales, and I had ordered one order of tamales and one of rellenos. Also, the invoice that was packed with the tamales was for someone else in another city. I did contact Hatch, and apparently another order was placed for the rellenos, but I have not received that yet and it has been over two weeks.

Hi Marlena, I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy the chile rellenos. Everyone has different preferences regarding how they prefer their rellenos :) With frozen rellenos we have to do a thicker breading. Thin breading won't hold up. Thanks, The Hatch Chile Store Thanks, The Hatch Chile Store

Disappointed in the quality of the pork tamales, which were not made by the Hatch Chile Store, had another manufacturer's name on them. Microwaved per instructions, but they are watery. While we liked the chile rellenos very much, they weren't in fact what we ordered. Customer service very gracious and sent a replacement of the cheese/chile tamales that were supposed to be included, but we haven't received a shipping notice.

Hi Robin, Amigo's foods in Deming makes all of our rellenos and tamales as there is not large scale manufacture of tamales and rellenos in the Hatch Valley. Rather than microwaving the tamales I would highly recommend steaming them. Fill your steamer with water, and turn the heat to medium. Keep your tamales in their husks and steam for 15 to 20 minutes, adding an extra 10 minutes if your tamales are frozen. Arrived still frozen which is fantastic. Unfortunately, the Rellenos were not individually wrapped. When I tried to pull them apart so they could be wrapped individually the outside coating fell off or was attached on top of another Relleno. I tried tapping them apart when frozen, letting them thaw slightly and then fully thawing them. It would be nice if there was something to keep the Rellenos from sticking together. I have tried one of them and they are fantastic other than the missing coating.

I was expecting a better flavor, it tastes too much like habanero peppers to me. I prefer the flavor of jalapenos. The salsa was acceptable and I will eat the other sauces, but I will not be a repeat customer.

Hi Wilson, Habanero and Jalapenos are basically third cousins twice removed to the Hatch Chile Pepper. I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy the flavor of our chile. The mask was a big disappoint to me. It is so small and so pale it just looks black in less you have it really close. It appears to be bright on the web site.

It looks like you order 5lbs of our Roasted Hatch Green Chile. 5lbs of our Roasted Hatch Green Chile is equal to 10lbs of our Fresh Hatch Green Chile. We also hand roasted and peel each pod for you. The Roasted Chile comes with free shipping anywhere in the lower 48. Trust me, shipping a frozen product on dry ice is extremely expensive. Thank you, The Hatch Chile Store

When initially purchasing your chilis I had accidentally sent the order to my address instead of my mothers as it was intended as a Mother’s Day gift. I emailed the support email with the correct and intended address and was told that the package would make it there, But unfortunately It’s come to me instead. I’m eating the chili’s now and they’re pretty good

I think our distribution center must have printed a label right as our agent changed the shipping address. We would be happy to reship the order to your mother. I dont want this posted! The chile was bland and tasted like it came out of a can. Was disappointed in the flavor totally. I only get back to NM every couple of years now and usually stock up so was excited to find this store but did not meet expectations of a native New Mexican. I dont want to post a bad review in case it was an isolated case but was not pleased. Delivery was in the week only after I questioned the shipment. I am willing to try you again and hope for different results. I will try ordering again when the season is high.
