My son loves getting Hatch chile in North Dakota. I ordered two 5 pound boxes of green and a package of dried red. The shipping takes a couple of weeks and there were problems with weather from the shipping company that added a day but the green chile got to my son in good condition. The red was shipped separately, we are still waiting for it to arrive.

The store and its staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful folks who stay in touch and truly care about their service. The chiles are consistently great! This time the distributors who were meant to send the order were pretty terrible, a week late in shipping and then sending the box by a ridiculously circuitous route. The chiles did get to their destination and were still frozen and will be eaten with zest, but that' the reason for 3 instead of a 5.

Great Chile as always, but despite paying for expedited delivery, the order didn’t ship for 2 days after order and didn’t arrive for Thanksgiving.

The mild is not good; better to buy can at grocery store. Frozenmed was ok. The red fresh was great. We roasted them froze them and they're gone now. We love the fresh red.

I appreciate the extra effort that was extended to meet my deadline. The communication was lacking in the beginning, which could have avoided the misunderstanding. But all's well that ends well and I was satisfied with my experience.

The chile was shipped on time and arrived within the 2 days promised. However, some rot had already started to set in. I was able to salvage about two thirds of it, but had to dispose of the rest. I’m assuming this is due to how late in the season I ordered and the heat across the country at this time of year.

I'm revising my last review. I did get some nice Chile's the second batch on both my orders. They were acceptable.

The Chili's arrived in beautiful condition, and had a nice flavor, however I was disappointed in the Heat level. I ordered what I had thought was a medium hot pepper however there was no heat at all. I emailed the company and received a quick reply offering me a 50% coupon if I wish. I never received the coupon.

I was quite disappointed in my chiles this year. I had written to request you postpone shipping my order (because I was in the hospital) and you were kind enough to do that for me. When my order did arrive the majority of the chiles had already started turning red, or were already well ripened. This was a week or so ago, when your emails indicated that it was the height of harvest time. . It leads me to suspect that you simply took the original box and held it aside until I asked you to ship. These were definitely not fresh-picked chiles ! I hope this suspicion is correct, because I would hate to think that was a fresh-packed order. As I said, I was extremely disappointed in the quality. Doris Bruntel

I was very excited when my Hatch Chile's arrived, they looked beautiful! But when we roasted them, the pulp/meat of the peppers were so thin they were extremely difficult to peel the skins off and very little actual pepper to enjoy. I heard from a relative that lives in the Hatch area that the "2nd" harvest is always better. Well - I don't know how to try and order that, and I'm pretty disappointed.

Chile was great, arrived in good not perfect condition.(had to throw about 4lbs out of 50 ordered away)Only real disappointment was the shipping prices. probably won’t order again unless there is a more affordable shipping method that will get the Chile here in perfect condition.

The chile I received was in good shape but I grew up in Las Cruces and know chile. The 25 lbs I got were small. I don't know if they had been culled but very few were of moderate size. I'm not sure when we peel them if there will be enough chile meat to make it worth while. Ted Roberts

I order my Chile a long time ago and 2 days later sent an email to deliver it the 1st week of September because I would not be home until then. Last night I arrived home early to find my delivery on the porch. It had been there for almost 2 weeks. The Chile all schrivelled and mushy. I am very disappointed. I hope you can fix this problem. Thank you.

Hi Joe, I don't have any communication from you requesting that we hold the order. Could you forward the email you mentioned sending to preston@hatch-green-chile.com for me to take a look at? Since we hadn't received a request to hold the order, we shipped as soon as the product was ready. We also sent a tracking number and shipment information to the email address you left with us when you placed the order. Had you called us to let us know you couldn't receive that shipment, we would have promptly pulled it from the packing line. I'm so sorry that this was a frustrating experience. If you can forward me the email from back in June, I'd be happy to send you a new shipment.

The medium-hot is more like a mild to someone who actually lives in New Mexico. We wern't overlly thrilled. It does have decent flavor, just not a medium-hot that we are used to.
