“Used this company to replace faulty thermostat in shower unit - came for 45 minutes and charged £198 for diagnosis, told me I had to order the part myself another £117 then said company charges another £198 for installing the part. This is what is meant by rip off/exploitation/fleecing. I thought when I contacted them the diagnosis, part and labour would be included not over £500 to install a thermostat!!”
“We called for a plumber to inspect a concealed toilet system, as water was continuously running into the toilet.
We were quoted £65.50 for half an hour of work. Upon inspection, the issue was identified as a faulty fill valve that needed replacing. The company confirmed that the total cost would be £65.50 plus the price of the part.
On the day of the appointment, my wife dealt with the tradesman. He initially claimed that the entire toilet system needed replacing. Only after I challenged him on the phone did he agree that it was just the fill valve that required changing.
He then zoomed in on a box on his phone for my wife to sign and proceeded to do about 15 minutes of work, which did not resolve the problem and left the toilet in a worse state. Despite this, he charged us £150 for the work. When challenged, he insisted that this was the “standard price,” even though it was not what had been agreed upon.
This company appears to have a pattern of misleading and overcharging customers. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with them.”
“Called the local plumbers as leaking pipe under bath. He made me sign - do not do this as you are being scammed! - He told me exactly what I already knew, did NO work and charged me £195!!!! - He was there for 20 mins. I questioned this -he was dismissive, stated that other people said "thank you" and that he had 'investigated' the issue- What a pile of pants!!! - I feel totally conned and am thinking reporting to trading standards is the way we should all go. I did call the company up - They said their terms were made clear - Hmmm - trained to talk unclearly so as to rip people off...I honestly do not know how some people can be this 'wrong'.”
“Called them out said no call out fee but £82.50 per half hour with minimum charge of an hour plus vat which came to nearly £200 total was £300 when he left got to come back I called for a leaky shower and quoted £800 won’t be having them back and also cancelled my card”
“Turned up 2 hours later than he said he would, no apology. Stated no call out fee, spent 35 minutes messing about round my hot water tank then charged £306 saying he'd repaired it. He hadn't, it's still leaking.
I'm on low, fixed income as I have been unwell and cannot afford to throw that sort of money away.”
“Please be aware of this company, when I booked a plumber I was told the cost would be £82.50 he was here for 15 minutes and I was told that the company charges for a minimum of 1 hour and I was charged £198 absolutely disappointing I won’t be using this company again”
“Small leak phoned this company due to no call out charge, man was here 40 mins, 30 mins listening to him telling us about the leak in his house, looked under our bath no leak, said he doesnt know where its coming from and charged £175, absolutelty not worth any stars or being allowed to trade”
“They claim NO CALL-OUT fee - it's correct - they charge £62.50 per half hour - but the MINIMUM you will pay is £125 plus VAT - because you HAVE to pay for at least one hour - meaning, if like my brother your job is done in 3 minutes, you pay £125 not £62.50.
HEY: iI've got a new name for that: it's CALL-OUT FEE, right....?
Avoid.”
“Engineer came to my house and claimed he had changed a valve, well he did not and lied to us with an extra bill of £90. He also time wasted on remedial adjustments that was not necessary and billed us for £750 with the downstairs heating still not working. They are sharks and luckily for me I did not pay and now they are trying to get their money back. Old and vulnerable people will become victims of these scammers. Please, please avoid at all costs.”
“As a landlord, I called these guys to a tenanted property in Ebbsfleet. The problem was a boiler with a pressure repeatedly dropping. I asked that they investigate and rectify the issue.
Instead they topped up the boiler vial the filling loop, a 30 second job that the tenant had been doing daily to keep the boiler firing. They did not investigate the underlying issue and charged me £198 (they had taken my bank details prior to attending) despite me calling up and saying that they had not done what I had requested.
DO NOT USE THESE GUYS”
“This company is now masquerading as ‘local Plumbers Ltd’ as well.
I only found out their true name when I went to pay the bill for my elderly deaf mother in law for £930 when they still haven’t fixed her heating. They said pay it or not coming back to finish job. They have billed for another £1000 when they still haven’t fixed the heating so she has now been in the cold for nearly a week.
As she is deaf and couldn’t do card payment over the phone I had to get their bank details and true name to make payment
Please avoid this company and local plumbers Ltd- they are the same ie cowboys”
“Cme to service a hot water heater. Left thmto it and told 5 minuts later the job was complete. I dont actually believe they did anything. Cost £150. Recruited through RatedPeople. Recommended you stay clear of them.”
“Disgraceful company. The plumber literally admitted he had done no work but still charged £150. Was sent this plumber through Trusted Traders website so think they are the real cowboys!! Please do not use”
“I asked for a plumber to fix my leaking pipe, and repressurise my boiler. The engineer was late, and not gas safe corgi registered. He was there 20 minutes placed 2 plastic pieces to fix my pipe. He touched my boiler controls and I was left with no heating or hot water. The engineer said I had to call my boiler company to fix. Disgraceful, Do not ring this cowboy company for works.”
“I asked for a plumber on Ratedpeople to contact me regarding a boiler service and our toilet not flushing. First company to contact me stating the first 1/2 is £80 and their jobs don’t normally take more than 1/2 hour. Basically 2 hours later, it cost us £663.00 after receiving the invoice via a text message, £223.00 for parts and £330 labour, £82.50 for the 1/2 hour oh! and don’t forget the VAT total being £663.00. Never again!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬”
“5 minute job took £150. Cancelled card will report to trading standards never use you again or this plumber which I have noted. My comments refect peoples reviews. Disgusting”
“Didn’t turn up the first time and called 2hrs later to say the wouldn’t make it.
Told me I’d get returning customer rates for them to come out the following week.
I did say after 3pm and he phoned before midday wanting to come. I said after 1.30 and he turned up at 1pm telling me he’d been sat in Tesco car park for 45 mins. Not my problem.
Bloke got me to sign something when he arrived. After 17 minutes told me he didn’t know what it was and there was nothing he could do. The office rang him after 20 mins to give him his next job so he left. Oh, he did tell me he could smash the toilet apart but as he clearly didn’t know what for and he didn’t know if it would help I said no.
The office then called wanting £150.
It wasn’t booked or advertised under this company name so I would not trust them at all.
The ‘plumber’ spent most of the 17 mins telling me about other jobs he’d done and talking about my floating shelf!
Do not trust this company.”
