“I love the shade. I get a better result colouring my stubborn greys then I get in the salon. I am a busy working mum of two and this product allows me to fit the process into my schedule. I will keep using the product even after lockdown.”

“Great, clear instructions and useful tools. Unfortunately golden brown was instead some step back to my 90s teenage years of too dark mahogany but with the added cruel twist of bright red greys. Truly awful.”

Dear Sally, I can see that you with Modena. Modena has prominent warm tones (as clearly listed in the description). All colours with warm tones have some red blended within the secondary tones. This can present differently on different hair - some people have hair which has a lot of natural warmth, in which case they will get a more visible reddish result from colouring with a warm based colour. Overall, if you really don't want to see any red in your hair the best approach is to avoid warm colours. Colours with a neutral tone are the best colours to cover greys because they don't have any prominent secondary tones which can appear lighter and brighter over greys. We don't recommend colouring to cover greys with a colour with prominent warm tones, or if you do want to see warm tones in your hair then we would suggest that you blend the colour with a neutral colour which will anchor the colour and avoid the lighter, brighter colour result over greys. “I purchased Sorento Light Ash Blonde as I have a mixture of brown and grey regrowth in my hair. Looks good and It did add lights and shine to my hair. I like the fact that it has natural ingredients. I would be interested to know if you think I should go lighter or darker next.”

“I had an online consult which included a photo of my hair … Maria suggested Sicily. It looked great and was easy to apply with the help of my partner who diligently applied the colour for me. The condition was great. The colour was close to what I would normally have at the salon with my hairdresser - I’d happily use the product out of lockdown as it is incredibly good value.”

Hi Mandy, Sorry you didn't get the colour results you were after! You mentioned in your colour consultation that you recently had a keratin treatment. Unfortunately keratin treatments can block colour absorption, which negatively impacts colour results. We do advise all clients who want to achieve two levels of colour lift that they should consult with one of our colourists directly, and unfortunately we didn't hear from you in regards to your colour selection. Our colourists can provide personalised colour advice which is critical to achieving successful colour results, particularly in situations such as yours where you wanted to lighten by two levels and there is pre-existing colour in the hair. Hi Lisa, Sorry to hear that your colour faded so quickly. Colour fade is typically due to porosity, and hair which is porous leaks colour. “I have only recently started dying my hair. I am intrinsically lazy when it comes to things like this, so getting my hair dye mailed to me means that I have one less thing to think about. It just arrives and I know I have to do it. I also REALLY like that it doesn't smell terrible like the supermarket box that I purchased for my first ever hair dye experience. That was enough to put me off doing it forever. The Shade doesn't smell bad, and it's easy enough to put on for even someone as uninterested in the whole thing as I am. Plus, the colour is good. I like the way my hair looks on the millions of zoom calls I have to do while I'm working from home.”

“Unfortunately the colour didn’t take on my hair- despite me leaving it in for over an hour! I asked and received advice from their colourists based on photos I sent- and bought the colour they suggested. I mixed it exactly as per the instructions but it did nothing. Waste of time, money.”

Hi Sheila, So sorry you didn't get the colour result you were after. Leaving the colour on longer than we advise in the instructions is not recommended and colour cannot lift or lighten pre-existing darker colour pigments in the hair, only a lightening process will do that. “I was really excited to use the product. I was impressed with the service and thought it would be perfect. Unfortunately it did not cover my greys. I found the softening(which was actually just a developer on its own) very laborious, took way too long and made it difficult to apply the colour after. Overal , the time was very long and I really was disappointed when it did not cover my greys. A lot of effort for no return.”
