“I've been colouring my hair myself for about 20 years. I was very excited to try this but sadly it came out extremely patchy and looks really bad. The colour turned out black when it was meant to be brown and it just didn't colour some parts at all. My hair was definitely covered I didn't miss any parts. I do like the addition of the remover if it gets on your skin though.”

“Delivery as fast, and the tools were great (bowl, brush, hair clips and ties), however, I ordered a light blonde toner (San Marino), followed all of the instructions correctly and it coloured my hair chocolate brown. It's taken a lot of time and money to make my hair blonde again.”

Sorry you are not happy with your toner result. We are a bit confused as when you contacted our colourist team, you mentioned that you wanted to go back to your natural colour, and that you wanted to add depth and fill and cover your highlights. We advised how you could fill and cover your highlights with a colour blend which would take you back to your natural colour. If you had mentioned that you wanted to retain your lighter highlights, then our advice would have been completely different. Please note that we did not recommend the San Marino 8.1 toner for you. San Marino has a medium blonde base colour level with cool mushroom Ash tones. It is not a brown colour but it does have a bit of depth due to the mushroom tones. You applied that as a semi-permanent, so it will wash or fade away. San Marino is clearly described as having mushroom tones on the product page, in the photos and also in the toner page. Wishing you the best!

“I bought the Bellagio dark ash blonde colour package. This is by far the best hair colour I have ever purchased!! Everything you need is supplied including cape, mixing bowl, brush and gloves!! The colour attached to my grey perfectly and fully covered it. Looks great and am glad it’s on auto order every month so I can refresh my colour in my own time. The shampoo and conditioner smell and feel divine and would love to buy a bottle of both! Communication from the Shade consultants is impeccable!! A stand out and benchmark for all businesses that truely care about their customers. Lots of in-depth suggestions for what colour I wanted to achieve and when I changed my kind and wanted a slightly darker option I was met with another in-depth email!! Love the thorough details and recommendations!! This is a must buy if you want salon quality colour at home in your time!! Don’t hesitate, my hair feel is so healthy and it’s been a month already!! Just now starting to wear out but greys are still covered!!”

“I do like the colours I chose, although my colour on my roots only lasted , just over 2 weeks, just did my second one on roots came out a little too red! Cause I mixed more of the golden brown instead of the light brown I don’t hate it but different. So my question is if I put light brown on top what do I get? Lol I did use the 27 as well so not sure when it will fade I do love the warmth with my dimensional coloured hair . Any thoughts feed back appreciated 😀”

“I've been using The Shade for cloe to 6 months and I'm never going back to salon days. Amazing product and so easy to do. I hated wasting time going to salons & not to mention the cost. Team have been great in guiding me to get my perfect colour sorted. I have sensetive scalp and was in pain getting my hair done at salons but with shade i dont get that. The colour covers all my greys and lasts till I'm ready to do it again. Highly recommend giving it a go. You'll never go back to salons!”

“I’ve been using colour from The Shade for over a year now. I like that I can have it delivered ready for when I need it and the colour is always consistent and good at covering my early greys. As feedback, I would love it if there was an offering in the membership subscription to order 3 months at a time and remove the shipping fee as this significantly adds to the monthly cost.”
