“I decided to try your product as my wife has used it for sometime and she is very happy with it. I wanted to reduce my grey without it looking obvious. I have used other products for years but had scalp irritation recently due to the chemicals in the product. Plus it was not covering my greys near the roots. I emailed one of your advisors who was extremely helpful in assisting me find just the look I wanted. I am very very happy with the shade and colour and no one has said I’ve had my hair coloured, which is just what I wanted. I also love the fact that I am not using harmful chemicals on my hair anymore. My hair feels softer and looks more natural. Thank you so much.”

“I was super nervous initially, but the colour consultants were fantastic and gave me so much advice and help! I eventually went with a Duo of Bellara Dark Ash Blonde and Montecristo Light Ash Brown. I found that it didn't totally cover some of my really fine grey hairs, but that could also have been my application method, so I'll make sure to apply more dye to those trouble spots next time. Overall, I'm happy with the colour and it has saved me SO MUCH money at the salon.”

Hi Elena, Sorry you didn't get the grey coverage you were after. Some greys can be quite colour resistant, as along with pigment changes, the texture of the hair changes and the outer layer becomes more tightly packed and layered which can make it difficult for the colour to absorb and to deposit permanent colour within the hair. I would encourage you to try again and next time to add some heat to your roots during the pre-softening for a minute or two with your hairdryer, which will help soften and lift the cuticle on your greys, which also helps the colour enter and be deposited within the hair. Pop a shower cap on your head during the pre-softening process too, as this will help retain heat and soften and lift the cuticles of the hair which will then allow the colour pigments to enter to be permanently deposited within the hair. The above approach has been effective on even the most stubborn greys, and I am confident that it will work for you as well. I hope this helps! The Shade team
