With Royal Mail strikes ongoing Tieroom's Customer service was truly excellent. I was given a date to contact them if my parcel had not arrived, on the agreed day they dispatched a replacement item via DHL along with a return envelope. It arrived in time for Christmas ( just !).

I was shopping to replace an older item when I found this company. They had a well-presented website that was easy to navigate, and the photographs were realistic. I was able to match the colour of the item I was replacing. The item was well-made and the fabric was of good quality. The design of their other items looked classy. It was a pleasant shopping experience but I was disappointed by the time taken to receive the item (almost one month after ordering). The order did not arrive in time for the event in which I needed the item. But to be fair, the delay was caused by Royal Mail’s own problems and I could not blame Tieroom. The other delivery options were not economical for a small order. I will shop here again and I can recommend this company to a friend, but with the caveat to place an order in good time.

Thanks so much for your detailed feedback! Very happy to hear you like our site and our products. The strikes at the Royal Mail have caused our customers and us a lot of grief, but now that the strikes are over, orders are again arriving on time.

The tie is lovely. Had to contact tie room as due to post, it would not be in time for christmas. I was sent another tie by next day delivery with a postage paid envelope to return the other when it arrived. Really good customer service.

A wide selection of quality ties. The customer service is great; the response to queries is extremely quick and friendly. It’s particularly useful that you can order test samples to help match against suits, jackets etc. Tieroom will be my first port of call when looking for my next tie.

I wouldn't have ordered if I had realised the company was not UK based. Partly as I like to support local companies but more importantly as it was a gift and I needed it delivered in a few days. It got held up in Sweden and took weeks to arrive. I was given a £5 compensation payment, but that wasn't really the point. Be honest and make it clear to UK customers you are not a UK company

Hi Miranda, I fully understand you are upset the package did not arrive in time. We are so sorry for this. Getting you the package on time is our responsibility, and we failed. For this specific order, the delay was due to the strikes at the Royal Mail, and your package was held up after it reached the UK. The strikes impacted all shipments within the UK, no matter whether they were shipped from abroad or not. Like many companies these days, we offer our products globally. The UK is our biggest market, and we ship thousands of orders to the UK each month. For UK orders, we pay UK VAT, we have a UK return address, we offer customer service in perfect English over email and phone, and, if it matters, two out of three founders are half English. The contact details on our site clearly state where the company is based if someone wants to know. Ensuring shipments arrive on time is something we put massive effort into. Like any e-commerce company, we have to rely on partners to ensure this, and, unfortunately, there are no companies with a perfect track record when it comes to delivering on time for every order. Things like strikes, accidents, pandemics, human error, etc are always a factor. Our track record of 99% of orders on time is, we believe, as good as it gets. Still, that one in a hundred package that gets delayed upsets us as much as the customer, and we are so sorry you ended up being one of these delayed packages. I hope you can understand. Nice tie, but unfortunately it was way too big. Although the length was adjustable, it did not allow for what I would regard as a standard collar size (16). I had to carry out some minor adjustments before I could use it.
