Initially I was impressed with the steak from Saffron Alley so decided to order sausages. It was really disappointing to see that the sausages contain 5 e numbers. This is really poor from what I've been lead to believe is a fresh butchers. The steals are lovely, but e numbers are not great at all.

My turkey was, as usual, well packaged and delivered on time. However, the invoice did not tell me what it's weight was, so I had to try to weigh it on bathroom scales in order to calculate the weight. I wanted a smaller turkey, but no choice of turkey size is offered. Finally, I think that over £80 is too expensive for what is offered.

I would say I wasn’t 100% satisfied. I asked for the lamb meat to be cut to 4cm pieces the pieces were extremely larger the 4cm some were stuck to bone which made really hard to cut through without a butchers knife. The meat looked fresh but I think there was mix up and I was given cow meat instead the the taste was very different from any lamb I have tasted. 2.5 kg worth of meat was didn’t really feel like it once I separated it all into bags. The baby chicken however we’re great. Would prefer an option to cut into 4 pieces instead of 8 no option when ordering.

Meat is halal no doubt, nice fresh cut ,however too chewing, it is rather of old cow than a young two years old animal . This is why I am going to stop buying it.

Delivery and overall service was good. Quality Of the meat generally good but chicken breast could have been better quality and the whole chicken should have been cleaned up a little better.

We purchased the lamb sausage because it said it was like the South African lamb sausage. It wasn't to our liking unfortunately. It had alot of breading and less meat.

I have ordered from Saffron Alley on a number occasions, at the beginning it was all good. The quality of the meat is good. Unfortunately i wouldnt buy the steaks as the cuts are uneven so they dont evenly cook. The beef joint are really nice although on this occasion i didnt get what i normally get, i got more bone than meat so wasnt very happy. I have also ordered beef ribs which came in the wrong cut even though the packaging and order said 6cm. The quality is there on some cuts of meat i just wish the attention to detail didnt drop aswell as consistency.

Meat quality is really good, very tasty however packaging is messy. Delivery packaging is fine but the meat packaging is bad. Meat juices are often on the outside of the packaging forcing me to re-bag the meat and that means losing shelf life.

Overall, the meat was good; however, as a big fan of bone broth, I ordered around 6kgs of mixed bones. Unfortunately, they were of very poor quality, smelling like they were very old, and were sent with almost no marrow. I was very disappointed, especially since it's very hard to find good quality organic halal bones, and I had high hopes from Safron. The brisket was amazing, and the mince was of good quality as well.

I like the variety of meat and poultry on their website, and the delivery is always on time. The food comes well packed, but I have a few issues. First, the lean mince meat is too fatty and some times grainy! Second, the chicken breasts are too fatty and sometimes smells badly. The beef is good quality but the beef cubes are tough even when cooked in a slow cooker to make it tender. One thing that worries me is the claim that all meat is halal, but there is no halal or inspection stamp on any of the packages I received.

Sometimes the steaks are not at the full weight described. I was refunded once but I've stopped complaining, but I've noticed it's still the same

It’s good quality meat however I think you should do smaller cuts of steaks such as 8oz, as 12oz is huge and sometimes I don’t finish. Same with the mince have an 500g option.

Good packaging, comes with bags of ice that keep the meat cool in the boxes. However, chicken thighs didnt smell that great had to wash them a couple times for the smell to go.

The website is brilliant, great variety of products. The downside were the actual products themselves. I ordered chicken wings and burgers. The burgers contained far too much fat and tasted like the frozen cheaper burgers which is such a shame. The wings looked fine but once cooked, when we started eating them, majority of the bones were broken which give a peculiar taste.
