“Not to be trusted. You can leave positive and negative reviews. Positive will remain on there database no questions asked. After leaving a negative review on a company it was removed because I refused to provide detailed evidence of proof. So clearly customers that don't wish to go in depth with trustpilot will have there bad feedback reviews removed. Totally goes against what you are looking for from a review based site. So no longer can it be trusted for those that make the effort to share there experience. Never trust any company on there that has a positive feedback as trust pilots negative reviews would have been removed after a week.”

“I've posted reviews on Trustpilot, good and bad and everything in between, for almost twenty years. I recently posted a negative review for a washing machine that I purchased approximately six months ago. Be**, the manufacturer, have complained to Trustpilot and now Trustpilot are threatening to remove my review unless I send proof of purchase (photos of receipts, transactions, etc). Never in my whole life have I been bullied by a corporation. Never. This type of intimidation alludes to the fascism that Mussolini spoke of, whereby corporations control our language, our behaviour. Needless to say I'll never purchase another Be** product, or leave a review on Trustpilot again.”

“Had my account blocked, even verified age. According my software was the issue, then sent to codes even though my account was blocked. What is the point. Probably a scam to get my details. Frankly no consumer platform is safe. People get paid to do this on a regular basis. Not me fake and untrustworthy.”

“Worst review service ever. - Positive comments are removed specifically to force companies to buy their paid option. - Support does not respond to messages. So we can safely say that the service is completely corrupt and does not contain fair and real reviews.”

“I realised that a positive review that I had posted in November had been deleted.I contacted Trustpilot asking why. They advised that they were unable to tell me but that their software could detect if a reviewer worked for the compant that the review was left for and basically accused me of leaving a fraudulent review. They were rude and stated the matter was now closed. I have now deleted all my Trustpilot reviews and account asthey obviously cannot be trusted.”

“They blocked my account because a software program labeled it as suspect. Never mind that it was a genuine experience. Never mind that to prove my review as genuine, I'd need to come up with documents that have been in storage for 15 years. I have a disc with documents...but not a single computer with a disc drive. Notice the terrible reviews this company gets? Clearly I am not alone.”

“Trustpilot is a manipulative and fraudulent company/website. It's all about making money and it's kind of naive to expect them keeping your "negative" review if they are being paid by the company you are writing a review about. They will remove your review without any notification and even if you notice that and provide all the proof they requested (about purchase or your experience) they won't put it back. They will claim they restored your review but that's a lie. I simply don't understand how that is legal and not sanctioned yet. Do not, I will repeat that one more time, do not purchase anything based only on Trustpilot reviews, even better, do not buy anything based on Trustpilot reviews. Be smart, read Google reviews, do some research, Google the company you are buying from, check other sources like Reddit etc”

“I left a genuine negative review for Dorothy Perkins where they sent out an extremely poorly sized dress, and they immediately suspended my account. Even though I had other reviews of other companies - some mixed, some positive - they accused me of being a bot or being inauthentic. It was obvious that Dorothy Perkins had asked to reviews to be removed - overnight, their rating went from 3.0 to 3.8 stars, giving them a 4/5 "great" rating instead of the 3/5 "average" rating they were meant to have. Many reviews from other people with similar negative experiences had been removed (poor sizing, misleading descriptions, not offering refunds for defective products and instead only offering returns where you pay for return shipping). It seems clear to me that Dorothy Perkins is trying to deter customers from returning products as return shipping can cost more than the item itself. Rather than spend money on pattern development and making clothes in different sizes, they just stick different size labels on the same clothes, ship them out, and when you complain they just say you chose the wrong size. Trustpilot is complicit by helping not allowing legitimate negative reviews to stay, only keeping a couple so they give off the image of being legitimate and honest. They are not. Do not trust company ratings. Trustpilot are scam enablers.”
