“I had a great day for my 60th Birthday treat, driving the Ferrari, Audi R8 and my Dream car the Aston Martin DB9. I paid for an extra 3 laps/car which made the driving experience. I however was dissapointed having paid £49.00 for my video and photo package of my experience to find that of the six laps I had in the Aston Martin the only bit recorded was me leaving the circuit. I think the video was corrupted in the photo booth as the young girl was talking and doing two at a time, I asked her to check as an e?ror message was displayed, but I don't think she did so properly as my video is evident. A dissapointing end to what was a gòod day (at a cost) for a once in a lifetime Birthday experience. I would also like to say the instructor in the Ferrari was excellent.”

“It was a dream come true to drive a mustang.it was a very good experience all the way through the staff we're very helpful and friendly I was made to fell at ease with the instructor in the car. A very pleasant experience I would recommend U Drive Cars to any”

“Helpful reception staff, informative classroom talk with clear instructions. My instructor Mark was friendly and put me at ease. 6 laps passed much too quickly and I was pleased to receive his kind comments:- super smooth neat and tidy. Chris Mynott ( 78yrs)”

“Generally everything was great! It was a lot of fun and I loved the way I had the freedom to do what I wanted to do, meaning being able to really floor it in those cars and really get a full experience of them. I will definitely do it again one day.”

“My original experience was meant to include a free photo but upon booking I was told this was unavailable. I was told I could have two hot laps instead. I queued for the hot lap and after waiting over 15 minutes I only got one lap. Not impressed. Also all the male instructors I had seemed unhappy to be there and barely advised or instructed at all. The female instructors, however, were enthusiastic, helpful and actually instructed me. I also found the track too small and the lack of manual cars a little annoying. Although there were negatives I see them as minor ways to improve and this did not effect my day. My overall experience was still excellent and I would definitely recommend it.”

“Unable to get to the driving experience due to a massive accident on the motorway, we rang the office to ask if we could reschedule. Having no control over the situation were told that we would not be able to. I would have thought that this could be sorted out at least with a partial refund. I bought this as a Christmas present and my husband was very disappointed to miss it.”

“Good stuff first: the welcoming staff, the safety briefing and the instructor were all really good. Bad stuff: the Caterham Thrill experience was sold as a 2-hour experience discovering the thrill of driving a Caterham round the track. 1. The 'track' was a patch of airfield coned off to make an oval loop, with a slight deviation at one of the ends. The surface itself was made up of two different materials; one was concrete and one covered in a loose grit-like substance. Neither of which were very track-like or suitable for driving fast cars and the instructor even admitted they are both less than perfect. The 'track' took less than 1 minute to complete and can't have been much longer than 800m in total. The spectating area was so far away from the track that they could barely make out what was happening and half the track was obscured from view. 2. The website I bought the experience from stated a 2 hour experience, but the actual experience (driving the Caterham) lasted no more than 6 minutes. The amount of time on the track and length of the track should be stated at point of sale so that people know what to expect when arriving. I feel I was mis-sold the experience and that the product very different to that which was sold to me. 3. Cost: I spent Red Letter Days vouchers on an experience that can be bought a lot cheaper when walking up on the day. The mark-up was 50%, which is disgusting when you consider the product that was sold and my expectations.”

Dear Sam, thank you for your honest review. We work hard to ensure everyone has a good experience so I am disappointed that you left us feeling dissatisfied. We will ensure that the Red Letter Days website is updated as it should have been clear that you allow up to two hours at the venue and it's not the drive that takes this long. We do sell extra drives on the day but you have to be booked in advance and they are only available if there is space on the day. The airfield venue allow customers of all abilities to drive the cars in a fun and safe environment without the restrictions of a race circuit. This is also reflected in the price of the experience compared to driving at a race track. Our track is 1 mile long as advertised.

“My 65th birthday present was a total joy. The experience was very well organised. All the staff were friendly. The cars were fantastic. I've always dreamed of driving an E-type and it didn't disappoint. The Porsche Carrera was a rocket.”

“My son who has a disability was so looking forward to going in a Lamborghini and the day didn't disappoint. From the moment we arrived the staff looked after us so well, everything was very well organised and the staff were efficient. The driver Michael was great and we could see from the in car video that our son really really enjoyed it. Weather slightly disappointing, that was the only down side. Photo and in car video was fantastic and a lovely thing to be able to purchase. It was great to give our son the opportunity to do something exciting and a day to remember. Thank you so much!”
