“I chose Anna, as I studied with her throughout the first month, and every one I learned with (did I miss anyone local in TA???) was warm, helpful, a caring and responsive teacher - recognizing and adapting to my needs, supportive, friendly. I could just go on. Thank you to everyone! As Tova remarked so spot on: "You're like family now."”
“It was such a pleasure working with Tal. She made Ulpan not only useful and relevant but also fun and meaningful. Thank you for the gift of working with her!”
“The videos are a little bit on the silly side, but I think that helps engage students who are watching!
I also have to recognize not only Shira here in Tel Aviv, but also Gal in Jerusalem.
I'm seriously thrilled by the progress the teachers and Cafe Ulpan and Touring team helped me make. I could NOT be happier with how much knowledge I gained in two weeks. Thank you SO MUCH!!!”
“It's a great experience and I've only had nice and competent teachers.
As I'm a "grammar type" I miss more grammar on the books. But I would say I've learned quite a lot all these years. Thanks”
“Adi really worked to adapt as needed-with our class members (eventually just me) and with changes in technology. He was kind and fun - encouraging and patient-never making me feel less than capable”
“I am very impressed with the incredibly amazing, positive atmosphere, fun and engaging learning environment at Ulpan Or! I will return and tell many others! Thank you!”
“Thank you Ulpan Or!You have been an amazing experience for me.Hila was a wonderful Teacher, very patient and motivating. She helped me improve in all the levels. I was very happy with the materials, which I find fantastic, along with all the staff members. It doesn"t get better than learning in such a happy, motivating environment.Thank you and see you soon!”
“I am very happy with ulpan or, as evidenced by the fact that is signed up for a second session (This was always the plan.). The teachers and materials are wonderful, and the atmosphere is warm, friendly, and supportive. My teacher was excellent and creative at finding exercises to help me progress. The tiyul to the shuk was okay, but I would have preferred two meetings in a coffee shop - mostly because I find it too difficult at the moment to walk and do something while having a Hewbrew discussion. Maybe this is the point, but I feel like this might be worthwhile for higher level students who are not as distracted by the surrounding noise, activity, etc. Also, I have one additional recommendation. I wish that it were possible to have office hours that could be shared by teachers who are not with students at the moment to be available to engage in 10 minute conversations outside of the set three hours. If a teacher is available during these "office hours," then students could sign up to work on conversational skills a bit more each day with different teachers. To respect the time of your teachers, thsi could be limited to ten minutes a day. This is still a good amount of extra conversation. Thank you for your consideration.”
“The material in the videos, downloaded books and books need to be better coordinated. They don't always have the identical stories and questions. Makes it more difficult to study from.”
“Ganit is an outstanding teacher, so patient, attentive and cheerful. She did not only help me with understanding grammar structures (which i am not very motivated to study), we also talked about a wide range of topics, laughed a lot and it motivated me highly to work on my hebrew. I always had an evening class after work, which was often exhausting, but with Ganit's positive energy i always was eager to study with her. With every lesson, i gained more confidence in speaking, and i am really thankful for that.”
“I really appreciated being able to choose the course that i wanted. i am sad that i was not so motivated to be here but i see how people can improve a lot quickly learning with your program. Many thanks to the patience of your teachers! They were all so nice”
“I would have preferred to do self study at home and to use ALL of the time at Ulpan Or speaking or working one on one with a teacher. When I signed up for this Ulpan it was advertised as being one on one but it was not clear that only half the time is one on one.
There were several times when there was not enough time to correct the homework during the lesson.Overall, this was a great course!”
“Every teacher with whom I interacted in any way was not only excellent at teaching, but a pleasure to meet and to know. I felt welcomed and supported and very happy to be here. Tova was helpful in every possible way, very capable, creative, and intelligent about addressing any issue I had.”
“Great experience in improving my Hebrew. I plan on continuing my studies with GDL. In addition, I hope to be able to participate in Ulpan-Or activities during future visits to Israel.”
“I have studied here before and needed a refresher. My teacher, Mor, helped me advance quickly. She focused on words that would be most useful to me for conversing.”
