Ups does not garuntee service times and gets away with charging high fees paid for 2nd day air and too 5 days to arrive

Love how the UPS delivery status says it was delivered tonight at 7:14 PM, but when I go to my mailbox nothing is there. And we have secure boxes for delivery and because of how late it is UPS is either lying on the delivery or it went to the wrong address. Why don't you hire competent deliverers?

I've had consistently poor experiences with UPS deliveries. Parcels are frequently late, customer support is unhelpful, and the delivery personnel in my area are often unprofessional. While I've had issues with UPS in the past, the last two weeks have been particularly problematic. Three recent orders (where UPS was the carrier chosen by the merchant, not myself) have highlighted these shortcomings. The first parcel arrived a day late, which is typical for UPS. The second was delayed by two days. The third is currently stuck in customs. Its estimated delivery date has been changed three times, with the latest change pushing it back by a full day just moments before the scheduled delivery window. Frankly, UPS struggles with the fundamental aspect of their business: timely delivery. It seems they excel only at failing to meet expectations.

2 packages delayed due to weather. One was in Norfolk where I live on Thur Feb 20th but can't be delivered until Monday the 24th. The other was in Richmond, 2 hrs away, on the 20th and can't be delivered until Monday the 24th. Meanwhile, FedEx, facing the same weather and with the package being located 4 hrs away in North Carolina on Feb 21st, is competent and capable enough to deliver a package on Saturday the 22nd. Go with FedEx.

After delaying my package delivery 4 times, (supposedly for weather conditions, in which I managed to drive to and from work each day without difficulty which is 50km each way) UPS delivered my package in a garbage bin at the beginning of my lane. Yes, in a garbage bin, with garbage bags in it, that was NOT my bin, and not even near my house. The driver actually took a picture.

Two issues which SHOULD BE the backbone of a delivery company. (1) Something gets damaged in practically every shipment, despite reasonable packaging. This includes me as a shipper (OVERLY CAUTIOUS on the packaging, because it is sheet glass) and as the receiver. (2) Packages are left in highly visible exterior locations, without so much as a knock on the door to notify that a delivery has occurred. They practically encourage porch pirates.

Last month (Jan 2025), I was moving internationally from England to the United States and chose UPS to ship 6 boxes of my possessions (15kgs each) to my new home. I filled out the online form long in advance and booked a day for collection. There was nowhere to add a note, so I had to inform them by e-mail that the boxes were up five flights of stairs with no elevator. I had already had the removal guys over and my plane ticket was booked for the day after the UPS collection. On the scheduled date, someone from UPS came: one young woman who was slight in stature (her name was Tate). I asked her if she was aware these were 6 boxes at 15kgs each. She said nobody had told her and that she was not going to be able to carry them all down all the stairs AND that the van they gave her was too small to fit that many packages anyway. She left and said she would contact the depot and ask them what to do and that someone would be back later. I was skeptical that Tate, and her manager, would resolve this issue, so after half an hour, I contacted the Newhaven depot myself. I got connected to Liam: the “Specialist Operations Manager”. He confirmed that he was her boss. I then asked him if she had contacted him about my situation. He said she had not. I told him the situation myself and that this job needed at least one strong guy, if not two. Liam: She’s the only one around to do this. I’ll get her back to you this evening with a bigger van. Me: How is she going to lift all these boxes, down all these stairs, by herself? Liam: Well, is there anyone there that can help her do it? Me: I could do it but it’s not my responsibility. I have paid £450 and part of that is the service of UPS coming up to collect the boxes. Liam: You're going to have to help her. Me: If I do it, UPS is going to have to give me money off. Liam: We’re not going to do that. Me: So you’re telling me that I have to do UPS’ job myself, even though part of my £450 was for this service? And, moreover, that you are not even going to give me money off what I paid? His response? Liam: J, you’re not doing yourself any favours right now. Me: Excuse me? Liam: I said, you’re not doing yourself any favours right now. Me: I am moving to America and these boxes contain all the possessions I’m taking with me. My flight is tomorrow morning. My landlord expects me out by then. If these boxes are not taken today, the day that I booked, there will be no way of getting them to my new home in America. You need to get at least one strong guy over here or give me money off. Liam: I’m not going to do either. Me: So what if I don’t help her? Liam: Then your boxes will not be shipped. Me: Fine. I’ll do it. And I did. I had no choice. One more thing: When Tate came over that evening in the big van, she said she was not sure if there would be room because it was the end of the day and it was now loaded up with packages. Tate: But we’ll try. After I brought down all 6 boxes, down all 5 flights, she said, “I managed to get them all in the van, but just barely.” What would I have done if they didn’t all fit? Best, J

All they do is deliver to your general region. I had packages marked as delivered to me,when it was delivered to someone in my estate. Which am I supposed to knock into everyone’s house to see if they got it like some freak. I would’ve been happy for them to leave the package on my porch. If I can avoid UPS I will for sure, 100%

DO NOT USE UPS. I’ve had such a bad experience with UPS, I can’t imagine why anyone would use such an unreliable terrible company. They lost my package for 1 month and sent it to an island south of Florida. I was devastated and had to spend over $2000 to send my package after I finally got it back from UPS. The level of incompetence and unprofessional customer service was unbelievable.

We work with all the couriers and UPS is the worst. UPS couriers always claim a delivery was attempted and it's never true. Parcels are always delivered with many days of delay, if it goes well, otherwise they are left at a pick up shop without even attempt a single delivery. They are so unprofessional. Not going to use this company ever and also asking all my suppliers not use UPS when shipping my orders.

Never use them again. Lost 2 days at work because their drivers don’t know how to use a mobile phone. Bunch of amateurs!

There's always a delay with shipping and the tracking is not updated. The dates keep changing and they don't seem to care much. If I knew it was UPS I wouldn't have asked my daughter to place the order

Fake "delivery attempted". When I tried to contact customer support they just lie again to make me wait enough so the office would close and this would become a problem for the next agent on Monday.
