I really like the functionality of Volumio on my raspberry pi. Especially the integration with Spotify premium and the incredible number of internet based radio stations. I also have a dac installed to connect the raspberry to my hifi set. Right now I am looking for more integration in HomeAssistant, to dim the audio when the doorbell rings. I would definitely buy Volumio for a reasonable price, but don’t like monthly/yearly subscriptions.

It’s a really complete solution streaming audio. I just wish there was a ”lifetime” subscription as Plex have done. The manifest gui is great. Although I use the the free tier so sorry to see that I cannot use it. As of now the subription is to expensive for what it is.

I use the free version. Volumio is a professional, highly functional application. All my dealings with the company have been transparent and pleasant.

Fabulous and bullet proof. I wish it would periodically run upgrade and update on the pi platform and have an auto reboot and restart function to playing audio.

I am using an old Z83 II mini PC. I am very happy that Volumio even works with such an outdated but power-saving platform!

Switched from a different platform a few weeks ago. Ferry friendly user interface, but most important for me: It functions flawless strait out of the box. Created a Raspberry Pi sd card inserted it and works.

I came to Volumio (on RPi) from the worlds of Plex and OSMC, two similar and perhaps competing software products. I like Volumio a lot, for several reasons: (1) It brings together many of the streams I use under a single, uniform interface; (2) It is designed to run headless; (3) The app UI is simple, direct, and clear; (4) As of the current version, it is largely debugged and stable; (5) It supports most (all?) of the common I2S audio boards for the Pi. Some areas of improvement are: (1) Plug-in for LiveXLive; (2) When playing songs from DLNA, UI displays "file.mp3" even though title information is known; (3) Songs from web radio are not included in "Last 100" though title information is known; (4) Update procedure is unclear (though we are warned against using apt like a simple Linux box); (5) Equalizer plugins are not stable and have caused me to factory reset every time I try them; (6) Paid plans are too costly.

Just unstable, and Spotify connect constantly falling. Older versions were better.

Awesome sound, awesome tech support (if needed), awesome team. I own a Bang&Olufsen system and I had never heard the music with such quality. On a RaspebrryPi, my God.

I am still getting used to it. My experience so far with auto-upgrade or auto updates have not gone very well for me. What used to work in my initial version 2 was lost after the upgrade / update. For now, I am sticking with Version 2. My Ver 2 configuration is working for me. I've made multiple copies of this SD card in case one of mine gets corrupted. I have made on a separate SD card, a version 3, but do not find a Pandora add in and I don't know how to do that via a manual configuration. Later I do plan on setting up a Linux Media NAS to load all my music collection and stream it to my Allo DigiOne media player. For now, I am happy to have something that works after spending a ton on this RPi 4 Allo DigiOne player. If I find something else that works more easily out of the box, I'll switch in a new york minute, but, for now I am struggling with Volumio, but content with version 2. The more experience I get maybe I will intrinsically enjoy it more. I cannot recommend this to my friends because they'd all pester me for tech support that I don't have a command knowledge of to run Volumio.... I wished I could have offered a better review. But truthfully, I am struggling with Volumio. Especially after hocking over $460 for this Allo DigiOne that I WANT to work better for me. Thank you for allowing me to be truthful with you.
