I appreciate the switchable persistent queue. But the artwork display is the worst of any player. And how long does it take to work out a p/l ordering option for Qobuz like BubbleUPnP free?

Great potential, loved functionality but problems developed with my Primo. Was worried being in the US but have learned that Volumio has customer service at their core. Worked through a workable outcome.

L'interfaccia a Qobuz non è ancora troppo spartana: le tre stelle sono dovute essenzialmente a questo, non certo alla qualità generale di Volumio, che mi pare molto buona.

Generally a pretty good bit of software, but room for improvement in the interface. a) Navigating a big album/artist collection is tedious. An A-Z jump menu would make it so much easier. b) An option to filter out common prefixes such as "the" when sorting. So "The Beatles" would be sorted under "B", not under "T". Other applications have provided both of these for years, yet volumio is still missing them. I would give one extra star in the review for each of the above.

The product itself is intuitive, easy to use and easy to install. It has generally great features and sound quality. However, a few very important caveats: 1. The support for DSD playback on USB DACs is somewhat spotty and tied directly to the Linux kernel. Some method and/or documentation for adding DAC information would be VERY helpful. Many newer DACs simply won't play DSD files without translation to PCM (and I don't mean DoP). 2. Occasionally the software seems to get confused and is unable to locate the music library. Rebooting often resolves these problems. 3. The Android app is somewhat unstable. Often can't find the device and when you switch apps, it seems to lose communication with the Volumio device at which point I have to close the app and re-open it.

I think the operation of Volumio takes a bit of getting used to. Unfortunately, no crossfader transitions are possible with MP3 playback. Everything in the file archive must be in the root folder, subfolders are ignored. You are on the right way, but have a look at Poweramp under Android, if it would work under Linux with Internet radio, I would get 5 stars.

The support for Qubuz isn't as integrated as well I was hoping for so I am now trying Ipeng with picore player and am liking that better. The interface for Volumio is fine, it just needs a bit more refinement I believe. I also didn't care for the expensive package to use 6 devices.

All in all works well. But: When using Quobuz, the system often jumps to the next song of an album without playing the previous song to the end. Also, the Spotify plugin cannot be loaded, which is very annoying.

3 stars because it's free. Other than that quite basic functionality and not very stable. Tidal integration in premium very bad and just not worth it. When using Volumio with Allo Digione and Roon bridge plugin, the sound was more digital and overall worse than using Ropieee where it sounded normal and as expected.
