“I am a new Volumio user and I am just familiarizing myself with Volumio's functionality. So far, I love the application and the interface to my music library. Currently, I am just in the early stages of digitizing my CD collection from the past 3 decades. I am using a Raspberry Pi 4 with 8GB of RAM. I don't have a DAC, so I am using HDMI "out" to my audio equipment. By using the RPi, I have PCM audio "in" and my CD collection is saved as aiff audio files on my hard drives. Volumio handles the music libraries wonderfully. Volumio can find my music library on the SSD hard drive that I can attach to the RPi and also the hard drive that I use for music on my network. I am currently updating and re-organizing all of my music on both of these repositories. I like the way that Volumio seems to be adjusting to my libraries. The real benefit to using Volumio in conjunction with the RPi is that I have a wired connection to my audio system through the RPi, I get better sound quality. Volumio functions as a portable access, via my iPad, to my growing music collection. I am now playing music that I haven't heard in years, thanks to this application. When I am not listening to my own music, as a bonus, I have switched to using Volumio for my music radio streaming, I like the way that it is set up. Volumio and RPi have changed the way that I listen to music! Thank you.”

“I learned about Volumio while building a Raspberry PI based streamer/dac. And immediatly I liked the whole concept of both the software (Application with minimal Linux) and the control thru a web interface that works well and reliable. I have a collection of Hi-Res music, including DSD. No problem for Volumio, everything works well. Than I build a dedicated PC (with a low TDP processor so I can use an external Lineair power supply) in order to connect it to my DAC thru USB. Because I use Qobuz but also because I think a subscription is in place when you use Volumio on a daily basis, I subscribed to the MyVolumio virtuoso program. All in all Volumio became my favorite software for streaming music.”

“Learning the features of Volumio is interesting. There is a great forum to go back to hear other users experience. However the amount of information is huge and finding the best wording for searching topic is time consuming. My interest is purely based on building a nice webradio, but I am quite confused about learning plugins for GPIO button, GPIO radio button how they interact on selected device like phatbeat, speaker hat, pirateradio. Building userconfig.txt is for me a major headache.”

“My Volumio PRIMO is connected via USB to an external DAC. The DAC has extremely high technical parameters. The USB bus is galvanically isolated. The DAC, in turn, is connected to the headphone amplifier. The DAC output is also galvanically isolated. The headphone amplifier has parameters adequate to the DAC. For listening, I use studio headphones that are able to bring out every nuance of the sound. My sound source is TIDAL (Volumio is connected to LAN via WiFi), mainly Master files. Volumio does not interfere with MQA files and delivers them to be decoded in the DAC. This set allows you to analyze every nuance of the recording. The Volumio has proved to be perfect and so far I have no negative comments. I highly recommend buying this streamer. If there are any problems with the sound, it will usually be a different component of the listening path. One more important note, I use the standard SMPS power supply provided by the manufacturer, as I found out that the voltage is stabilized inside the Volumio. In fact, the sound quality is confirmed by the use of very good stabilizers. I haven't checked the sound quality using the internal DAC yet. When I check, I will describe my impressions. Meanwhile, I cordially greet the Volumio constructors for their fantastic work and I recommend everyone to buy it and enjoy the very high quality sound. Greetings to everyone, Andy ;-)”
