I haven't made detailed system settings since I have just started using Volumio. The sound quality seems to change depending on the DAC used, but I am satisfied.

Hi I've been using Volumio free ver. 3 years. It was very good with Spotify connect. From time to time need to be restarted, but still OK. I move to Tidal and changed for Virtuoso. Unfortunatelly Tidal app works very unstable, functionality compare with Tidal app on iPad is a big dissaster. Roon works perfectly but is more expensive. I'll probably stay with Volumio and have hope that quite fast you implement new Tidal connect functionality. https://support.tidal.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004565898-How-to-Use-TIDAL-Connect

-The installation was not so easy. My Fritzbox doesn't accept the volumino w-lan password and lan-browser-text . I could installed the player only over the fritzbox-surface. - The sound with a sbooster power adapter and a good usb cable is great!!! 3 questions: - is it possible to change the upsampling frequenz from streaming clients like cobuz? -Are there filter options in the software? - Could you recommend a external hard drive with external power supply Final statement: VERY GOOD PRODUKT

I need to study Volumio more yet, to know al its capabilities, but for now i noticed that volumio does not appear in my cast devices list, like my chromecast does. Strange, since with a friend of mine Volumio does appear in the network, but not here. Because of that 'problem' 3 starts for now, i can adjust the rating later when a solution is found. Sound needs to be checked still, connecting to my dCS dac, so an update will follow

Very dynamic sound. Works well without glitches. The user interface could be better. Can not sort albums by album titles, only by artist. Can not display many album artwork, and somehow for many albums it only displays individual songs instead of albums. Search function in Qobuz and Tidal is limited, very strange. The Roon interface is by far the best. None of the streamers including the Volumio can match the Roon.

First of all, I like the concept of Volumio, which doesn't need an app to be installed on a device. This is the main reason why I went away from SONOS, and I also dislike the Auralic app (Lightning DS); even it's lightyears better than the SONOS or others I tried. I run Volumio on Raspberries 3b with a Hifiberry DAC Pro+. In one case, I feed it with a class-A power supply (split supplies for the DAC and the Raspi). It sound really great for the price of the device (approx. 500 € including metal housing). For another one, I have jeopardized an old FM-tuner which fits my QUAD 33 hifi-set. This one is not yet completed. I haven't explored every possibility of Volumio so far, but will do soon. As I mostly listen to complete albums, I use the queueing function when I want to listen to more than one album. I will check if I can do that track by track, which is sometimes useful as well. The only thing I could imagine might improve Volumio, would be to define a starting program, e.g. a radio station or an album from a DNLA/PnP source, or from a mounted volume. But that'd be really no game changer. Most important are sound quality and appless approach.

Android often needs to be rebooted, server needs rebooting at least once per day too due to software volume not working or it simply being unable to load content and this is on a RPI 4 2G. Also most of the time the app is slow to respond, but when it's not it's quite fast.

I'm not totally digital savvy, I'm mostly an analogue/mechanical person who loves audio equipment with one switch: on/off which allowed me to enjoy audiophile music with my valve amp and vinyl for many years. So I had a few problems setting this up, which took a few frustrating days. However, when I got it up and running it's truly wonderful. I added a Dragonfly Black and the sound is amazing. I find I'm listening to music again, rather than having it on in the background, so thanks for that!

Cons: Internet set up is not easy. I tried to connect my tablet as it is described on your page without success. Tablet is not able to find Volumio automatically. Always I have to investigate via router what Volumio has IP and this I have to put to Internet browser. Free program does not have possibility to connect Tidal. I am agants payment for this functionality. Pros: Good software for music management with your Hi-Fi system

This is pretty slick. I am new to RaspberryPi so the setup was pretty painless. My purpose was to play my ripped Apple Lossless library from a USB drive. For this purpose it is spot on! I do have issues connecting to the device from some browsers. I also tried the Alexa integration but there isn't any documentation on the correct phrase and functionality.

The Volumio offers great functionality, however, I can’t give it 5 stars because of few reasons: - I would pay one time fee for Tidal native streaming, but I’m absolutely against monthly fees. I would buy another streamer instead in a long run than paying monthly for the function, - When I stream Tidal over airplay, occasionally it would freeze the Volumio and it cause static speaker pops, which drives me mad. (Raspberry PI 3b+ with Hi-Fi berry DiGi+ over optical to DAC) - Lastly, FLAC .cue files are not always recognized, so I can’t switch track on some of my offline FLAC albums. Overall, it is great what you get for the money of small system running Volumio, but you need to be ready to live with some flaws.

Volumio on a Raspberry 3. It does everything an expensive professional receiver does. Thans you for that

I love the way the platform has allowed me to create a low cost quality customisable streaming dac. Integrating it with my music and qobuz has opened up how much more I listen to my music.
