“Just back from a Mon-Fri camping trip at this lovely little site. After a little bit of confusion as to where to check in (The signs say check in at reception which we did, only to be told it was the swimming pool reception we needed) we found our pitch, which was well kept and spacious. The facilities we in general very good, only the slightly tired look of the toilet/shower stalls and the luke warm water in the washing up stations being little let downs. The facilities are kept spotless throughout the day by the on site cleaning crew, so thanks to them for that. We will definitely be booking a return trip in the future.”

“Easy water logged camping site had to leave a week early as ground was unsuitable also the road to it is 5 miles of single track road very risky if towing a caravan”

“Lovely peaceful place and the starboard hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly at reception and in the Waveney Inn and the breakfast was lovely too! We enjoyed our stay 100%”

“Staff were really helpful and friendly. The accommodation was cleaned to a high standard. Not 5 stars for the following: TV reception was not good and staff were unable to sort. I would advise that they get a satellite dish to help with the low signal strengthen or give each cabin a booster areal. Shame there no instructions as how to use hot tub or the kitchen equipment but this was no fault of the staff just due to COVID.”

“Very quiet site. A bottle of Apple juice and box of biscuits along with some tea bags, coffee sachets were in our lodge as a welcome. There was also a small cleaning pack dishwasher tablets washing up liquid and a couple of cloths. Hardly any choice of fresh / frozen food in shop forces you to eat at the on site Waveney Inn, luckily the food there is really good and quite reasonably priced with good portions. Our luxury lodge was tired and in need of updating. Beds were Very hard, sofas very soft. En-suite was unusable due to the awful smell. I sprayed air freshener in but it made no difference. We would come back again for a weekend in a different lodge and would bring food with us this time for breakfast and snacks. Sitting down by the river was very nice and relaxing.”

“Very good week at Waveney RC. As ever staff always helpful. Enjoyed a day on the river in a pilot boat. Toilet, shower cubicles could do with a tidy up but other than that well worth a visit.”

“Good value for money however some pitches I.e Heron were poor. It is evident that during lockdown no money has been spent to improve the site whereas our visits to other sites has seen a remarkable effort to improve facilities.”

“Fantastic as always! The staff are so friendly and helpful. A group of us were camping on the pintail and the hot showers and facilities were wonderful. On the first day, we hired canoes and kayaks and paddled down the river. We got the ferry across the river on our second day which is included as we were resident, and did a lovely walk to Oulton Broad. The Waveney Inn food and service was great. I recommend it and will be staying again soon.”

“It is a nice place to stay, you can rent a boat or swim (you need to book in advance), there's a play area and a foot ferry as well. However, you will need to book the restaurant in advance of your stay as when we turned up there wasn't any spaces and the takeaway to your room option which we were planning on they said they weren't doing because they were too busy - other pubs nearby were fully booked which left quite a drive out with young kids to find food. The breakfast was good though, and not too busy first thing as well. I wouldn't stay in the Aft room again, it says it has a limited river view but it has no view at all, the only view is of the back of the kitchens and generators and laundry - it also makes this room a bit noisy in the evenings and early mornings so you can't really have the window open with babies in tow. It was a nice room though with good facilities.”

“Been here before and loved it. This time however i feel that the upkeep has dwindled some what. Just looked untidy. Grass and hedges over grown around caravan pitches. Needs new tap for drinking water as its the push button type that after filling a 40 litre barrel left your hands aching and hose kept coming off as the tap was orrible,LOL Although this is a dog friendly camp i could only find one pooh bin which was at the side of our toilet block. Saw some new arrivals end up arguing as gone to wrong pitch due to poor signage. Will go back but not for couple seasons. Perhaps covid has had a part to play.”

“Myself and 3 friends stayed 18th - 20th of June . The venu itself is spot on , location and set up great . Unfortunately like at lot of Hospitality places you have really struggled with reopening after lockdown . Place and facilities look tired . Little kiosk not open . Main shop looked sparse. Pool not open on the day of arrival. Total lack of communication between restaurant and reception staff . Short staff on the restaurant although the young chap in there really did cope very well . I would return again as I am local to the area and always try to support. The hospitality industry did receive all the grants and I hope in the future, you will reinvest and I look forward to returning soon .”

“Not what we were hoping for, I was expecting some long walks beside the river with the dog but there was no access at all ,the only walks available were in a nearby field with waist high grass. The lodge was fine and very clean and reasonably well equiped the outlook across the fields was very nice but the area around the hot tub was not pleasant and occasionally smelt of sewerage. I was disappointed to find that the shop did'nt sell newspapers as the site is miles from a supermarket. After a very wet night on Wednesday I tried to walk the dog but after a few yards the road was flooded and we could'nt proceed on foot . We were due to stay until Monday but we decided to leave on Thursday.”
