Was told on arrival we had to fit caravan, awning and car on our pitch. Our pitch was heron which was a caravan pitch 8.5m x 6.5m. Pitch was only big enough for caravan and awning and we would have to put car in car park and pay £5 per night parking so didn’t bother putting awning up. Even the bigger kingfisher pitches, you would not be able to get caravan, car and awning on! Yet the tent pitches right next to the water we’re huge! Went to toilets early one morning and was welcomed by excrement all over the floor and toilet! Absolutely disgusting!!!! I appreciate its school holidays and the staff cannot be on hand 24/7 but I’m assuming it’s children, where we’re the parents. Have to say I’m afraid we won’t be returning.

Overall the Lodges were well equipped. The cleaning in Fritton could have been more thorough, light fittings and lamps had cobwebs in them. The cooker hood did not work but I have reported that. My son and his wife were in Earsham Lodge which was lovely but they did not use the balcony or hot tub much due to the awful smell from the sewage processing plant above them. It was very unpleasant and can be smelt from the road above. I could say more but don't want to be too negative, we did enjoy the locations and walks. One final point which was very disappointing. You feature on your website that you have a wheelchair for hire which we wanted for our 90 year old mother. Staff were unaware and unsuccessful in locating it.

The site was pleasant enough and staff lovely. Sadly the beds in the pod were the only downfall due to them being rock hard.

Lovely campsite Very disorganised staff on reception, who were nice, but gave contradictory information about whether there was space for me to stay an extra night. Staff should physically show capers where to stay as my uncle was asked to move after 4 nights!

Positives: Pleasant waterside setting, facilities kept very clean, a good pub with reasonable food & staff the friendliest on the site. Quiet at night. Negatives: Not enough showers/toilets & when all engaged often the toilets at the pool building were closed for cleaning, I wasn't in the main camping area but my family were & the pitch felt very crammed & hemmed in due to parked cars some with trailers.

Good facilities on site&Good location. Some bits of the lodge looked a bit tired&in need of repair such as kick boards in the kitchen or planks on the decking. All staffing were lovely thought.

Shower block desperately needs updating. Shop is just a gift shop now. Pub needs to sort the menu out was disappointed with the food this year. Pitches very untidy and scruffy walk ways over grown can't walk through them. More signs up regarding dogs on leads never seen so many dogs off leads poo pick up signs. Park equipment needs updating pool should be open longer. The 10pm quiet time is to late bring it back to 9pm because 9pm becomes 10pm. 10pm becomes 11pm as it did quite a lot of the times we was there. Tree's need cutting back over the coot pitches. We have been coming to waveney for the last 6 years really enjoy it but this year a lot seems to have changed we enjoyed our stay but was disappointed with a lot. We have booked again for next year with the hope that these issues are ressolved.

Nice place just needs the trees cutting back so not encroaching the pitch, hitting you and the tent. Unfortunate enough to have ants on the pitch so constantly bitten. Recommend metal tent pegs with the hooks on top as all mine and father in-laws pegs bent due to the pegs only going in a few inches. Even windbreak would only go into the ground about an inch. It's like there is a concrete slab underneath. Kids entertained when not raining but once it does rain nothing to do onsite. Would stay again though but look into staying on a different pitch.

The park itself was ok. I was very disappointed with wheelchair access on the camping side pathways were not very wide and slopes were uneven so found it very hard to get around the park as well showering and using toilets.shop was very poorly stocked

We love coming to Waveney River centre and have been four times now. We like the facilities and its idyllic position. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. However our accommodation, Aldeby lodge, does need a lot of updating. The laminate was very worn and at places had massive gaps, the sofas were very tired and damaged, the French window door was broken and some of the window handles were also broken. Aldeby is an excellent position and deserves a make-over. We will definitely come again though.

The pub/ restaurant is has too much lighting so therefore gives it a cafetière feel. It felt grubby in restaurant we do feel the standards have slipped since the initial improvements under the current ownership. The room was clean but the toilet brush needed to be replaced.. We will say that the staff were all very polite & helpful.

The River centre itself is very good with good amenities and clean and tidy grounds and facilities. The onsite indoor swimming pool was a great way to cool off in the heat, be warned, you cannot just turn up and swim but have to pre-book your 1 hour slot. I found this very easy and sensible as it stopped the pool becoming over crowded. The on site restaurant is perfectly adequate and serves great tasting and good value breakfast, lunches and dinners. The restaurant is also dog friendly and has a small games area to keep the kids occupied. The centre hires small day cruisers and kayaks etc. which was great fun and again, very reasonably priced. The day cruiser took some getting used to to moor up but became fairly competent by the end of the day. We cruised up and down the broads and eventually made our way back via Oulton Broad which has a large marina and guest moorings just outside the Wheery Hotel (cost £10 but you then receive £5 off any main meal). Accommodation on site was a mixture of campers, yurts and small individual chalet/cabins. We however were in the Farm House just across the road from the centre. We travelled as 2 families (4 adults and 6 kids and a dog between us), there was plenty of room to accommodate us but felt the Farm House itself seemed very tired and could maybe benefit from a bit of TLC. The Farm House did benefit from a hot tub however this had been placed upon the foundations where the previous conservatory had once been, meaning that it was located less than a meter outside the garden patio doors, and the wooden access step was even closer still! This resulted in a few bruised shins from kids and adults alike when trying to navigate past! In my opinion the hot tub should of been located in a much more suitable location slightly further from the house. The rest of the garden was laid to lawn with a small patio area to the side. One of the biggest issues was lack of any outside shelter. The patio tables did not even have a parasol meaning that during the midday sun, with no breeze it was unbearable. I suggest that some out door shaded areas are required including maybe a veranda over the hot tub. If you plan a BBQ, there is none supplied and we relied upon a disposal BBQ from the supermarket placed on the patio. Normally i would expect a bbq area with a brick or metal stand to support a disposal bbq. The lawn itself was ok but had a lot of prickly weeds throughout which our 3 year old twins unfortunately found out. I tried by best to go around removing as many as possible to ensure no more little feet got hurt. Inside the Farm House was quite poorly stocked and if i am honest very dusty on arrival. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean but there was not enough cups and glasses etc to cater for the 10 people that the property can accommodate. Even the dinning table only could only seat 6? Beds were comfortable but the rooms were unbearably hot. We removed all duvets and slept with sheets only but even this wasn't enough and i was forced to go to the supermarket and purchase some tower fans to keep us cool. Note we did have all the windows open on the first night but then found upstairs in particular was swarmed with hundreds of flies and midges etc. It would be nice if fans were supplied as standard and that doors and windows had fly screens fitted. As i have found in most rentals, the kitchen knives here are soo blunt that they are practically useless, also the kitchen bin was tiny and with 10 people staying, the small bin was continuously filling up. Please just put in a decent size bin! The dishwasher was totally rubbish and actually made everything worse than when it started. We put pans in the bottom rack and cups and bowls in the top and after the wash cycle anything on the top rack was backed with reminisce from the pans. Back to the old ways of washing and drying by hand. I suggest a new dishwasher is required. Do not take this review as wholly negative as we did have a great time and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves, i just feel that had the few minor issues above not been present then it would of made it far more pleasant stay and guaranteed our return. For me, the lack of any out door shade or shelter was un-necessary and a bit of an oversight. We would love to return but only when some of the issues above have been resolved.

The accommodation was excellent until the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and we were stood outside for half an hour. If it had been a real fire we could have perished and no one would have known as no Member of staff turned up until one of the guests found the sign on the pillar and rang the mobile number. There was no sign of the fire brigade even though the alarm was sounding the whole time.

Lovely campsite, shame there was a few niggles this year as we have been here before and had a lovely time. Some rude staff members, no papers or magazines as they have made the shop Smaller!! Another

Lovely setting, nice lodge but aircon or a fan in the bedroom in the sweltering heat of this week would have been fantastic. Also park employees riding up and down on rough gravel roads kicking up dust all day in front of the lodges did not induce a feeling of relaxation or wellbeing.

We have enjoyed our stay however do feel that the touring pitches need to be better maintained. They are rather restrictive and do not really have the room to put up an awning, the surface has a lot of the matting showing through and therefore could do with being topped up by more pebbles, however our main concern was the drainage at first the water was coming back up in our shower we resolved this however the smell from the drain was very offensive on not only our drain but also our neighbors also we had to put a full bottle of bleach down to eliviate this smell. We also were led to believe that only 1 car per pitch and several pitches had several cars parked hence causing some obstruction on the access

Overall okay stay apart from when we attempted to use the swimming pool, at no point at check in or in the literature received did it say you had to book a time slot for the pool, tried to use it with two young kids only to be turned away as according to the man at the desk you had to book a slot and currently the pool was at capacity according to him of 25,on counting I could see 11 people within the pool and this was the last time slot for the day according to the man, however two hours later on passing the pool, different people were using the facility. Obviously a case of I'd your face fits your aloud admission. Surely if this is the case, reception should be informing visitors of this on check-in.

We had a great stay, and it's a lovely location. We were very pleased with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, including the person who amended our telephone booking so that we didn't have to shift to a different campsite on the second night. Clean loos and good camping facilities for us, our dog and our little VW camper. The one gripe that we did have was with the day hire on the river, which we booked with friends who were staying in the inn. We were late being sent off, nearly half an hour waiting around, which made the warnings about dire financial penalties for being even a few minutes late seem really unfair. The boat was OK and we all took turns at the helm. Some of the controls and markings were worn and hard to read and it took most of the journey there and back before we realised the water pump had been switched off, and that if we disobeyed the warning not to touch the switches we had water for coffee and washing up. A few basic supplies of coffee and tea would have been nice - we did bring our own. I don't want to detract from the friendliness of everyone - they were all great, and they did listen to our suggestions for improvement. Overall we felt like we paid a fair price for the site, that the meal at the inn was passable, the hospitality was great but we didn't quite get the experience and value for money we were expecting for the boat hire itself. And it rained on the way back from Reedham, but we can't pin that one on Waveney River Centre, although it would be nice to have had a windscreen wiper that wiped. PS site and boats are dog friendly - the restaurant as well - but the rooms in the inn are not. What's that about?

It's an ok camping spot, but not glamping. Although therooms are expensive for what they are.
