Excellent customer service with very friendly staff. The lodge is desperately in need if some TLC inside and out, but was clean upon arrival.

Facilities were generally good. Caravan pitch under trees were poor uneven rough ground. Lots of pine cones and resin dropping on the van. Too many tents and vans made limited space for recreation. Field allocated as play not cut very rough and unsafe for children and dogs. Expensive. Staff friendly and helpful. Good at pub good and reasonably priced..

Great stay wish we had more opportunities for swimming though and longer evenings

Good size pitches and a lovely location. Enjoyed the pool, nice and warm. Food at the Waveney Inn was disappointing for the price, I’d give that a miss but otherwise a great place!

Lovely location by the river. Very helpful and friendly staff. Toilet and shower facilities usually very clean but let down by broken door lock in ladies, constantly unfilled soap dispenser in ladies' disabled/baby change cubicle, wonky toilet seats etc, just odd jobs undone.

Fantastic family break. We stayed in the house for 10 including 6 adults and 4 children of us and it was spacious, clean, and bright. Convenient location to Gt Yarmouth and Lowestoft beaches. Nice village feel and friendly atmosphere. Great that we could hire the boat which was waiting right outside the house. Easy to check in and out. We would definitely recommend Waveney River Centre.

Upon arrival we popped up to the pool and was greeted by a lovely young lady with long brown hair so friendly and welcoming - a great start! . The campsite is clean , friendly and has a lovely view . The cleaner who starts at 530am is a very friendly lady who is also a credit to your campsite , hardworking and engaging. We had a lovely spot near the play park to. We had everything we needed for 3 nights , if you want lots of entertainment this isn’t for you , if you would like to get away from it all then this is ! Thank you we look forward to returning .

Lovely pitch with great outlook. Planters in front of pitches in need of attention, shower blocks and wcs always clean, thank you to Sandra and the team. Showers and wc look tired though and could do with an upgrade.

Just returned from a 3 night stay in the Escape Pods. We have stayed at Waveney River Centre in the past and it was wonderful to come back. Highly recommend. Fantastic resort, very well maintained, fantastic facilities, friendly and very helpful staff. We had dinner in the Waveney Inn which was really nice, clean and friendly. Perfect spot if you like paddle boarding and water sports too. We visited Africa Alive and Great Yarmouth seafront too and had a great day. Would like to say a special thank you to the lady Housekeeper who was very thorough, friendly, helpful and gave us some insect repellent. Look forward to coming back soon.

We had a lovely stay at Waveney River Centre with a combination of yurts, pods and camping plots for 25 of us, which were good. However flooring and beds are creaky in the yurts!! Lovely meal in the Waveney Inn where the staff were very accommodating and service was great. Lots of fun on the river with canoes, kayaks and paddle boards and we were blessed with great weather. Overall a good experience.

A lovely few days away in a yurt, accommodation and shower toilet blocks where all very clean. Great job by the cleaning staff. Food at the Wavney Inn was good and reasonable priced. Staff very nice, and on the whole great customer service.

A lovely park, well kept and all the staff are friendly and courteous. Any issues we had were quickly dealt with. The lodge was comfortable and clean. My only issue is the lack of privacy as you are overlooked in all the rooms. The road leading up to the centre is only single track and although there are passing places can be difficult to use as most people now have big cars so can take some manoeuvring to pass.

The outlook was disappointing as we thought we would be overlooking the marina or river, tightly packed cabins. Cabin overall was very good. Need larger facilities on sight to accommodate all cabins. Otherwise enjoyable stay with the hot tub. Advisable for one way system on approaching roads as dangerous.

Lovely setting, food from Waveney inn wasn’t great apparently staff shortage. We were in a motorhome and getting water was a problem as the only way was a tap with no way of putting a screw attachment. Toilet/shower block very clean. Would return.

Pitches were of a good size with plenty of room for our camper and large awning. Quite noisy in the evenings with groups of people not recognising the 10 pm quiet limit. We actually came home on Sunday rather than the Monday as the noise the two nights we were there was enough. However, I would still recommend the site as the amenities were first class and clean and the location great. Great choice of beers at the Waveney inn, however the food was only average and the waitress needs to get rid of her top that was covered in dog's hairs for two nights on the trot, not very nice when serving your food up. I would also recommend booking any boat or canoe hire when booking your dates as they are very popular.

Monday July 5th to Monday July 12th Touring Pitch Kingfisher 6 Motorhome Overgrown, Faded Signage, Tired, & Outdated, and that was just the entrance The Waveney River Centre website says they are Covid safe, but with only eight unisex combined toilet / shower rooms and two family rooms available, cleaned only three times a day Monday to Friday, and twice a day on Saturday and Sunday and with 34 tent pitches, 6 Pods sleeping 4, and 7 Yurts sleeping 6, there are a possible 134 people at busy times using inadequate facilities , not including any people from caravans and motorhomes. We have always used the site facilities during our 15 years of touring, but my wife used our own shower for the first time on this site. If you intend taking a caravan or motorhome, then please make sure your manoeuvring skills are good, as the “passing places” on the 4.5 mile single track approach road are barely the width of a cars wheel and not very long, so be prepared to reverse. All pitches are small, very worn, with overgrown hedges and full of dead leaves. They are meant to be large enough to take a caravan, awning and car side by side – they are not. The Heron pitches are so dark with the overgrown tree foliage, I think they were using a torch during the day to see. The waste water point for our Kingfisher Serviced pitch was located in a concrete base about a foot higher than the pitch, and as water doesn’t travel uphill it proved useless. There was also no dedicated accessible fresh and waste water point for motorhomes, and we had to assist three other motorhomes with filling their tanks from our pitch tap. The Park shop was very sparsely stocked, mainly with the standard Norfolk gifts of shortbread, fudge and key rings etc. There were basics, plus of course Beers, Cider and cans of soft drinks but very expensive, a pint of milk was £1, and the freezer cabinets were almost empty. Staff informed us that if you wanted something to ask, as the Waveney Inn held the stock and sometimes forgot to fill the shelves. We had a meal at the Waveney Inn, arriving at 4.45pm to avoid the busy evening period. There were only two other parties in, and a very reduced menu. We only had fish and chips followed by a dessert, and left two and a quarter hours later due to poor service, and mistakes with our orders– don’t bother. The free Park Wi-Fi only worked around reception, with no signal anywhere else on the Park. We left a day early, on Sunday, and wont be returning.
