Lovely location, good swimming pool, nice size campsite, great views of the marina. Like the individual shower/toilets. Friendly bar staff.

We have been coming to Waveney for years and really rate the site. This year we stayed in the new Hales lodge. It was brand new so I couldn’t really fault the standards. There were a couple of issues the firm should consider reviewing, the glass hob exctractor is too low which resulted in me banging my head several times when leaning forward to make coffee / cooking. The other issue was that you need to swap the gas kettle for an electric one. It gets very warm with the kettle on. Other than that, perfect. The staff were friendly as ever and the facilities spot on. We booked for next year before we left.

We turned up and found no electricity in the whole place , we struggle to get water as there was no tap on our motor home pitch The barman refused to take our cash because the till was electric! We found another place and phoned for a refund And you haven’t Evan phoned us back ! So you have charged us for not staying ! This place is not fit for purpose ! Regards Paul Drew

Sorry that you arrived in the middle of a power cut Paul. The power went off without warning in the whole area. Despite numerous promises to get the power back on before tea time, UK Power Networks finally had to bring generators in the middle of the night. This really was not our fault. The reason there was no tap on your pitch was that you didn't book a pitch with a tap - we have fully serviced pitches (electric, water, grey waste, TV) and non-serviced (electric only - when we don't have a power cut, of course). You booked one of the latter. There's nothing on the booking to indicate that you departed early, which means that you left without telling us; if you telephoned as you said then I can only apologise for not calling you back, but I can't find your mobile number in our call log. You seem to have based your entire review of our Park on the fact that the village had a power cut!

Facilities, swimming pool, where located in river setting, pub, playground etc. Only way things could be better is a costume spinner in pool changing rooms. I know it may not be classed at environmentally friendly but its difficult to dry towels and costumes if weather is not hot enough to dry them naturally. A spinner would help immensely

WRC is lovely if you are after a bit of peace and quiet but with every amenity you could ask for especially the pool and pub! We stayed at Oulton penthouse which had triple aspect views onto a cutting, the marina and the main river with the landing stage so there were always boats going by and wildlife to look at. My only criticisms are that the apartment needed a bit of TLC in terms of decoration and cleanliness could be improved - a bit dusty here and there with a few spiders webs, grill not cleaned properly. A rusty broken metal bin in en suite is such a shame given the beautiful tiling! The doors onto the balcony were very heavy and tricky to open and shut - clearly we weren't the only ones who had trouble as there was a notice on how to do it but we still couldn't manage it so left them open all week - OK in this weather but earlier or later in the year this could be a problem. All in all a very pleasant week's stay and we would definitely return.
