The campsite is lovely and the staff are brilliant we really enjoyed the play areas, clean facilities and pool but it was let down by the restaurant, the food was very nice but the staff are very ill informed and not up to standard. We have breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, we were told we could not have a table till 9.30am but when we arrived it was empty?? And should have been serving from 8am. 1/6/2021. Dinner we dined with family which were part of our bubble, and were not allowed to sit together, there was quite clearly another table in the restaurant that were over 6 so this was very annoying as we could not talk together. The waiter that served masked looked like it had been hanging off his face for months as he kept having to put it over his nose. Social distance measures were not met either as all customers were asked to seat in the same mid section of the restaurant rather than spacing table apart.

1st visit and very impressed. Had luxury lodge overlooking marshland and boy did we see some fabulous wild life. Lodge spotless and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Ate in the Inn and must say service, food and price excellent and great atmosphere especially given circumstances. Plenty of facilities on site, just a shame we could not hire one of the motor boats for few hours rather than full day. Lovely setting and very convenient for touring broads and suffolk coast.

The hotel was very pleasant however the restaurant let it down . No napkins for the 3days we were there . Limited breakfast menu no fruit or yogurt . Nice staff .

Immaculately clean and very well equipped Ellingham Lodge, like home from home. Welcome pack was a great idea. Hot tub was lovely and warm and clean. All staff were professional and very helpful from Reception staff to River Centre staff were we hired the kayaks. Restaurant was very clean and food was very nice and hot with a great selection on the menu. We would definitely return again and would also recommend you to friends and family.

An incredible location with good facilities in general. However, better on site signage wouldn’t go amiss. Improved toilet and shower facilities needed given the amount of people being catered for. Heron pitches overgrown, scruffy and dark due to foliage. More water points needed and motorhome waste disposal point would be nigh on impossible to access if adjacent pitch was occupied. Nonetheless we would still recommend

We stayed in Gillingham, a beautiful lodge two bedrooms both ensuite. It was immaculately clean on arrival and was well equipped with quality furniture and bedlinen. We had trouble with the Wifi within hours of arrival and it took 2 days to fix it but it wasn't for want of trying. The staff were extremely helpful and the man mending the wifi couldn't do enough, trying different things until he found the fault and kept us in touch all the time. The shop didn't have a lot of stock but carried the basics, which was useful as the road to the site was very long and winding and a pain if you met someone coming the other way. The site really is in the middle of nowhere with a long drive to get anywhere interesting. The kiosk was closed and the bar served good basic bar food with safe distancing practices. Not much for children other than a playground and the pool but its a very quiet and relaxing site and we came back well rested.

We were very disappointed because we were not allocated the lodges we booked! We booked 3 lodges in a row but one was separate from the other 2 . This was a family break and we wanted to be together and so booked lodges together. When we asked the reception if we could swap with the lodge in our row of three (which was still being cleaned and therefore empty) she told us it was an 8 berth so couldn’t. This lodge was exactly the same as ours but we accepted that what she told us was true. Our holiday was fun but not as much fun as we had hoped because of this. We were very upset as we had booked this holiday for last year to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday so we were really looking forward to all being together.

Lovely 7 nights at Harleston lodge. Large lodge with everything you need for a weeks stay. Hot tub was beautiful and checked daily by the friendly staff, views over the marshlands were great. The site has a children’s park and swimming pool and we enjoyed a day on the river in our own private boat which we hired online from the river centre. Well worth the money and the highlight of our stay! Visited the beach nearby at Lowestoft which was nice. No smart tv and wifi in our lodge, which we are used too at home, but you don’t really need that when on holiday so didn’t bother us. A great stay, would definitely recommend!

This place is an idyllic little piece of heaven, the lodges are beautiful and well equipped. The views are stunning and I've never felt so chilled! We left our children to come here for a long weekend but this place looks great for families too. Will definitely be coming back! Hot tubs are relaxing and i don't know how anyone wouldn't enjoy it here.

Location beautiful, site has everything you need, staff helpful & friendly, house was amazing, kids loved the hot tub. Would have liked More dishes & pans in the kitchen for a house of this size. Also Surprised no BBQ. 4th time to this site, and we’re booked to come back for new year, love it - ideal place for a break with family & friends.

Absolutely spotless. The lodges were amazing. The only downside was it was in far from local shops and pubs but facilities great.

Superb accommodation. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. The main downside we would mention is the lack of good, secure WiFi. Just to mention the shower thermostat in the double bedroom en suite didn't work properly. The facilities such as fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine were great additions. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Had a lovely 2 day stay at Waveney River Centre in the yurts. The good: yurts come well equipped with a bed (bring your own bedding), a sofa bed (that converts to 2 singles), 2 bedside tables, 2 lamps, a small chest of drawers, coatrack, small bin, a radiator, and a lovely log fire. The yurt itself is also insulated, and between this, the fire, and the radiator, there’s no worry at all about being too cold inside. There’s also a picnic table and bench on the decking outside. Some fabulous views of the river, also a swimming pool (we didn’t use it so can’t comment on it), and kayaks/canoes for rent at very reasonable prices. Another bonus is that the Waveney Inn will deliver hot restaurant food directly to your yurt for no extra cost! The bad: when we arrived the double bed was broken - when my partner knelt on the bed to put the sheet on, the bed collapsed beneath him. The team was fantastic though, offering to either swap the bed or let us swap yurts (we opted for just a bed swap), which they then did within 10 minutes. The only other real downside is that because the walls of the yurts aren’t secured to the floor, we did have an issue with lots of spiders getting in to seek warmth and shelter from the rain, and some of them were quite large. This isn’t unexpected with the camping experience of course, but it’s something to bear in mind if you’re an arachnophobe. The gap between the bottom of the walls and the floor also meant that a strong breeze may bother anyone sleeping on the bottom of the convertible sofa bed (as the mattress is basically on the floor). We were a family group who collectively stayed in 5 of the 7 yurts, and one issue that only affected one yurt was leaking from the heavy rain, which started as a small leak but grew to be a bit more of a substantial issue as it was directly above the sofa bed. But again, the team was fantastic, offering to let them move to another yurt or one of the wooden escape pods. Overall the experience was a pleasant one, would definitely consider coming again and maybe staying in one of the (hopefully spider-free!) lodges.

We had a really lovely break of 4 nights camping. This was our second visit to Waveney River Centre. The weather was awful and whilst that dampened our spirits we managed to have a really lovely time. One thing I would raise is that whilst the Toilet block is very functional it could do with a bit of a clean and tidy up in terms of some limescale, mould issues round the shower. We enjoyed having the restaurant on site to go for a drink in the evening when it was raining. They need to implement a drinks men, as they do not have one and that made ordering drinks more difficult. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.
