We have just returned from a great week at Waveney River Centre. The lodge we stayed in was lovely, bedrooms were a little on the small side, but for what time you spend in them didnt bother us too much. We had a hot tub with our lodge which was great. Our little boy loved it so much he went in every day and now wants one at home. Our only gripe was the WIFI. We paid the extra £30 for a week to have the better WIFI but it wasnt worth paying at all. It was very intermittent at times which was frustrating. The shop on site and pub is lovely, although a bit pricey but is ideal for one off items such as milk and bread. The swimming pool was small but again our little boy had a great time in there. All in all I would return to Waveney River Centre again as it has everything what we need as a family.

We stayed in the Carlton penthouse holiday flat over spring half-term. The flat was large and comfortable with lovely views. The site was busy but had a good atmosphere. Staff friendly and helpful. A good holiday and a good site.

Very clean. Easy to launch boat, food in pub very good. Showers tidy, single occupancy in a square block unisex. Shower, toilet seating hairdryer mirror all included. Separate toilet block again clean and tidy. Small compact shop, open 9-6. Single track road with passing places for last couple of mile to site, a little difficult for large caravans. If on super pitch, don’t forget a long tv lead, if using tv Waste water electric and tv all on same post at rear of pitch shared between 2. WiFi, good in pub, bad where caravans are.

I absolutely love this place which is why it is a yearly holiday with friends. The facilities are fab. We stayed in the Langley this time - comfortable but could do with some TLC - not surprising really as they are used regularly! The early checkout time is a bit too much and could really do with a later time....maybe 11am with the caveat that the hot tub is drained and cleaned earlier.....see you next year!

Our lodge was perfect, spacious, comfortable and clean. We all really enjoyed the hot tub. The staff were all helpful and friendly and we enjoyed taking a boat out on the broads for the morning. The site was fine, we enjoyed the quiet and countryside, lovely for the dogs but would of liked some more facilities for the older children, such as a football pitch, basketball court, bigger playground. The swimming pool hours were quite restrictive and it was smaller than we expected so this together made it difficult so we didn’t use it at all.

We were a bit spoilt last time in that we were the first people to stay in Hales lodge last year. This year it was a bit tatty with a hole in the wall, broken toilet seat, Broken bath plug chain etc. Little easy fixed things. You have to wonder wether the cleaning staff are reporting these things to management. There did not appear to be any oversight of the crew by a supervisor. Both the dishwasher and the washing machine were broken and did not work properly. There seems to be repeated calls for electric kettles to replace the stove top kettle which took an age to boil and burnt your hand due to an over heated handle. Hats off to the maintenance men though who responded when we reported issues. They came immediately. The hot tub did not smell pleasant and had scum round the edge but we were assured it was fresh water. As we have a hot tub at home, I was not convinced. Would be good to have a maintenance sheet so you could see when some one last checked the water / chlorine. Again, we reported this and the response was immediate. The site itself was fantastic as were all of the staff we had dealings with. A lot of these things had been commented on in the guest book which is why you have to wonder wether there is any connection between the cleaners and management. Nothing that couldn’t be sorted quickly and with proper supervision.

Very comfortable lodge. Comfortable seating to relax outside would have been nice. Quite a late check-in and very early check-out of 9:30am with a reminder email to leave promptly sent at 1am the day before. Friendly hard working staff in Waveney Inn but too few of them. Time slots allocated for pool and no life guard. Employ more cleaners, bar and pool staff. Not good enough.

We did not enjoy our short stay here. There was nothing to do and We found staff to be un helpful. Food at the pub was inedible and the shop poorly stocked. Things were closed before stated closing times. The Swimming pool decided to have session times due to numbers but this was not conveyed to guests so we could book. Instead we turned up with kids dressed up to swim and all the equipment needed for swimming only to be turned away. I wouldn’t mind but i asked in reception several times about pool opening times if you needed to book etc so this sort of thing would not happen. Changing rooms couldn’t cope with amount of people coming out at same time resulting in my son being hit by the toilet and entrance door several times whilst getting changed. The actual lodge itself was lovely. Very clean and Well stocked with everything we needed. We loved the hot tub. But again it did not say in the instructions how to turn the temperature down. Even on our last morning whilst packing the car staff were hanging around an hour before dropping off towels for the next guests, sorting out the hot tub. We felt rushed out and under pressure. I feel like the whole place was quite unorganised.

We loved this campsite! We travelled with another couple and teenagers for some days and on our own for the rest of the time. What a warm welcome, fantastic peaceful location and ideal place for exploring the broads and Norfolk. I can’t believe I’ve not found this gem earlier after camping all over for 20 years. I would prefer male and female showers as opposed to unisex but that’s just a small niggle and I would love to see an Adults only camping section.. !!

Good clean facilities. Remember in peak season you need to book the swimming pool. Waveney inn is good and reasonably priced. We stayed on Heron #4 pitch, it was fine but on a slope, if you are booking a Heron pitch make sure you bring some levellers!

We love this site. We stayed here in our motorhome and our family stayed in a lodge. Our granddaughter spent a lot of time in the hot tub and also at the lovely park. We hired a large boat for all of us and trundled down the river which was lovely and very easy to organise through the site. There is a nice bar and resstaurant with pub grub on site and we were lucky enough to hear live music there on Sunday afternoon. The only downside is if you want to leave the site you need to be prepared to drive quite a distance as there is nothing around for miles. Also dog walking is limited unless you take their ferry accross the river to walk on the other side.

As always, we had a great weekend at Waveney. Stayed in a pod this time rather than a tent and will definitely do that again. Really convenient, great view and lots of space for the kids to play. Will be back next year!

Didn’t say very good on this occasion due to new booking system for swimming which wasn’t communicated on arrival. Kids very disappointed.

We enjoyed camping at the river centre. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the facilities. The playground and pool were great. The showers/ toilets were warm. It would have been good to have a separate toilet block, as there were big queues in the morning.

Waveney river centre has a great vibe, enjoyed our stay, this has been our second visit, we will return, stayed in the Lodges last year, and Yurt on this visit. One small negative the bed was noisy in the yurt, and the cuckoo bird also loud and is very early riser (5am)
