“We arrived at car park and phoned no given in instructions to be told the office was now closed. I was quite upset by this information - what was I supposed to do - anyway I went to the restaurant and after waiting some time was told there had been problems and I was told the name of the lodge I had booked. The lodge was very nice - we ate at the restaurant one night and the meal was good. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed our stay after the problems found when we arrived.”

“The site was in a great location and the bar and restaurant was fantastic. The staff were lovely and the food was amazing, we ate in the restaurant one night and ordered takeaway 3 times! Every meal we had was lovely. My only complaint is that the lodge was not cleaned to the standard we expected, especially given the COVID situation. The floors were dirty, lots of cobwebs (and bugs) and there was even a used plaster in the shower, presumably belonged to the previous guest!”

“We stayed at the Haddiscoe lodge. Immaculately clean on arrival, crisp white bed linen, comfortable beds, fluffy white towels. The lodge was bright and spacious, well equipped, views over fields. The hot tub was lovely and clean, serviced daily. Shop on site closed at the moment due to Covid restrictions but plenty of supermarkets near by. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, lovely and peaceful would recommend.”

“Stunning location , great facilities on site. Hired a day boat ( Admiral) which was excellent. Staff on site / boats / reception all great . Our 2 visits to the Waveney Inn not so . Booked table week in advance but had to wait outside for 20 minutes with others walking straight in . On a lunch visit not allowed to use outside tables in sun but two later couples who hadn’t booked we’re allowed to use . One way system seemed also to confuse many . Would still recommend the site but Inn needs some better organisation in these testing times”

“We had a wonderful night stay at the Waveney River Centre. The Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our bicycles. Rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable with superb bed for weary cyclists. Lovely position with view over the marshes, we would definitely visit again. Only disappointed was no real ale in The Waveney Inn next door.”

“Very clean and spacious hotel room with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The service was excellent from the friendly helpful staff. The food was ok but not enough variety - no fresh fish or salads and whilst the cooked breakfast was delicious a choice of fruit would have been good. The centre is clearly well run and I would recommend it to friends.”

“Great place to stay. Beautiful scenery with lots happening. Camped and stayed in hotel. Good site with good size swimming pool. Restaurant is very nice good food but with very limited vegan options. The staff are friendly and helpful. Only problem was booking system. Would recommend.”

“We took a skipper boat out for the day and then stopped in a yurt overnight. The skipper boat was brilliant and relaxing (great weather helped) and then stopping in the yurt was a revelation. With the hard wood floor, log burner, comfortable double bed and decked area it was superb. It was very romantic. The toilet and shower facilities were perfectly clean which we are very particular about. We also used the Waveney Inn which was okay but think the decor a little clinical and would benefit from some more comfortable chairs and a rethink on the eating area decor. Overall we will most definitely return.”

“Fantasy location great facilities with the pub ,restaurant and boat hire and very helpful staff . However the kitchen lacked in utensils plates glasses and baking trays. For example there were 4 wine glasses 5 plates no baking trays no tongs 1 tea towels bearing in mind we were a party of 6 adults . We had to go to the nearest supermarket to buy these items which wasn’t ideal”

“This was my first experience of the Waveney River Centre and I have to say, I was greatly impressed. The staff in reception as well as the crew members were extremely professional and very helpful. The Gillingham Spa Lodge I stayed in was beautifully equiped and extremely comfortable. I will definitely return.”
