Just returned from a short break at Waveney. Good points: Lots of hand sanitiser stations and signage to remind people to social distance. Needs improvement:The toilet block/showers need cleaning more frequently. The 10pm no noise policy was not strictly enforced, a gang of men kept playing music until 3pm in the morning which was really annoying for everyone else. Normally it’s a lovely place for families but feel it’s turning into a place for gangs of people to meet up.

Has a lovely long weekend at Waveney River Centre, we booked before COVID to meet with friends, and booked one of the large 8 bed lodges. The accommodation was nice and roomy and plenty of space not to be on top of each other. The lodge was a little tired & could do with the edges & ledges being cleaned but the bedding & towels were all fresh & clean. Due to Covid they has removed non-essentials so the kitchen has 8 only of plates, mugs, glasses. All wine & other glasses were mismatched and there were no flutes which was a shame, The hot tub was nice and big but not sure how well it was cleaned because there was an oily film on it but teenagers loved it. And it wasn't checked at all whilst we were there, maybe because it was a weekend but past experience the hot tub is normally checked daily. Used the take away at the pub and it was fine, apart from forgetting two meals and having to go and ask but they sorted it quickly. No sauce or seasoning thou and we had forgotten to take with us. The shop was reallocated to the kiosk but we didn't use it, only being there for weekend we didn't need to. Reception were lovely , we spoke to them on the telephone to book in and that was all fine & they were very helpful before we arrived. We brought our own SUP and Kayak and were able to launch from site which was great, quite a lot of boat traffic being a marina so pick your times, ferry over the river was useful and we had a nice walk on the other side. Overall it was a welcome break from the groundhog day of COVID restrictions, lovely part of the country that we haven't visited before but would come again.

Disappointed...The pitches are not maintained, full of ants and swasps nests, lots of bald patches very uneven and terrible scatchy weeds. Was not told about electric hook up, it was hidden in a bush. The cleaner told us where it was. Quiet time means strict quiet time. Terrible experience by a group of youngsters blasting music all day till way into the early hours of the morning on Friday our arrival day. They was told to keep quiet by the warden but soon as he left they just created more noise with there mouths, with the constant walking backwards and forewards, till way after 3am. Then on Saturday night two more groups of people turned up 80th birthday and they was just loud till after midnight, surely people should be made aware of the strict quiet time at 10pm and realise there the only ones making the noise. The restaurant was ok staff were good. The main manager seemed very friendly but that's just putting bums on seats. On the Saturday night we was asked to pop in for breakfast was never advised or asked to book a reservation. We turned up only to be turned away because the restaurant was full, because it had rained. It was only 10am? was extremely dissappointed as the manager seemed very friendly the night before and was insistent we went for breakfast. We had 2 and half hour drive home. There's not much sustainable food in the camp shop, and bare is very bare. I know it's only 15minutes to Morrisons beccles but seriously shouldn't need too, and who wants to travel down that dirt road too one. Not every one has coolboxes that plug in, and to also find out on the last day the Inn sells ice... terrible. I knicknamed your brown take out bottle that holds four pints as The 'Waveney Jack' as it reminded me of the 'scrumpy Jack cider from Cornwall. The staff at the river that do the day boats and pump out etc were very exceptional very knowledgeable and very pleasant. Unfortunately I don't think we will staying again soon, not unless your site improves. We left on Sunday morning couldn't wait to leave to be honest. We wanted a rest and stress free time, we came away knackered.

Loved our stay there just a couple of points we have a motor home and the bushes round the plot needed trimming back emptying the toilet and changing the gas was a bit of a problem with the bushes especially when you have an awning out. Second point a shop is really needed especially by motorhomes it really needs to have basic provisions on site bread milk eggs toilet rolls meat etc it’s a long way to nearest shop without a car to pop there.

I have been very impressed with WRC, right from booking and pandemic plans to keep everyone safe. The hygiene of toilet and shower block was above and beyond. The evening meal at the pub and service was fabulous. There was a wasps next by our tents and it was dealt with so quickly and efficiently. The crew were approachable and friendly. The only reason it's not 5 stars is breakfast was a let down when leaving. But we'll be back.

Beautiful views around. Lodge was spacious yet was not as clean as we would have expected under current circumstances. Hot tub was a nice edition. Takeaway from the pub to the lodge was brilliant and piping hot on arrival. Staff were welcoming and observed all guidelines in the inn to ensure we had a relaxed breakfast.

Our 2nd visit to WRC and again it didn't disappoint, even with the extra trials of a Covid-19 world the staff were all friendly, helpful and efficient. We'll be back.

Only a one-night stay on way back from the north coast. Had a lovely day taking out our kayak on the river down to Oulton Broad. Lovely happy atmosphere with great views of the traffic on the river. Lovely touch when the boss walked around in the evening to check everyone was happy. Definitely want to return 😀

Been here many times on a boat before but this was the first time in a caravan on a Heron pitch. Always clean and tidy, plenty of friendly staff around. under Covid 19 circumstances we were encouraged to use our own shower etc, however friends stsaying in a pod say the facilities were very good. Thouroughly recommended.

Great location with a good range of facilities.. the standout point for us was the steps being taken to ensure covid safety in the communal wash rooms etc.. the team involved in that are doing a fantastic job. Thanks for making us feel safe.

Staff could have been more welcomIng and we had to wait 1 & 1/2 hours from 16.00 as advertised till 17.30 for our lodge. The site was overgrown and needed more maintenance, particularly The Secret Garden. The bar staff took cash and served without gloves, despite Covid-19 compliance. However, the welcome pack was thoughtful and generous, the towels and bedding were luxurious plus the hot tub was very warm and bubbly! The kitchen was well set-up but limited crockery and cutlery made me chose to hand wash rather than use the dishwasher. The TVs were good but the signal failed frequently. The free WiFi was appreciated.
