Pitches were of a good size with plenty of room for our camper and large awning. Quite noisy in the evenings with groups of people not recognising the 10 pm quiet limit. We actually came home on Sunday rather than the Monday as the noise the two nights we were there was enough. However, I would still recommend the site as the amenities were first class and clean and the location great. Great choice of beers at the Waveney inn, however the food was only average and the waitress needs to get rid of her top that was covered in dog's hairs for two nights on the trot, not very nice when serving your food up. I would also recommend booking any boat or canoe hire when booking your dates as they are very popular.

Monday July 5th to Monday July 12th Touring Pitch Kingfisher 6 Motorhome Overgrown, Faded Signage, Tired, & Outdated, and that was just the entrance The Waveney River Centre website says they are Covid safe, but with only eight unisex combined toilet / shower rooms and two family rooms available, cleaned only three times a day Monday to Friday, and twice a day on Saturday and Sunday and with 34 tent pitches, 6 Pods sleeping 4, and 7 Yurts sleeping 6, there are a possible 134 people at busy times using inadequate facilities , not including any people from caravans and motorhomes. We have always used the site facilities during our 15 years of touring, but my wife used our own shower for the first time on this site. If you intend taking a caravan or motorhome, then please make sure your manoeuvring skills are good, as the “passing places” on the 4.5 mile single track approach road are barely the width of a cars wheel and not very long, so be prepared to reverse. All pitches are small, very worn, with overgrown hedges and full of dead leaves. They are meant to be large enough to take a caravan, awning and car side by side – they are not. The Heron pitches are so dark with the overgrown tree foliage, I think they were using a torch during the day to see. The waste water point for our Kingfisher Serviced pitch was located in a concrete base about a foot higher than the pitch, and as water doesn’t travel uphill it proved useless. There was also no dedicated accessible fresh and waste water point for motorhomes, and we had to assist three other motorhomes with filling their tanks from our pitch tap. The Park shop was very sparsely stocked, mainly with the standard Norfolk gifts of shortbread, fudge and key rings etc. There were basics, plus of course Beers, Cider and cans of soft drinks but very expensive, a pint of milk was £1, and the freezer cabinets were almost empty. Staff informed us that if you wanted something to ask, as the Waveney Inn held the stock and sometimes forgot to fill the shelves. We had a meal at the Waveney Inn, arriving at 4.45pm to avoid the busy evening period. There were only two other parties in, and a very reduced menu. We only had fish and chips followed by a dessert, and left two and a quarter hours later due to poor service, and mistakes with our orders– don’t bother. The free Park Wi-Fi only worked around reception, with no signal anywhere else on the Park. We left a day early, on Sunday, and wont be returning.

Had a very enjoyable and relaxing week. Location was great, the yurt was comfortable and the facilities were really clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Only improvement I would suggest was the menu at the Waveney Inn was very expensive for the basic menu provided. We will definitely be visiting again.

Restaurant and bar prices. Far to expensive. Food not good. My second stay at the centre. All tv reception is extremely poor. You need a much taller mast. Staff were very nice polite. You really do need more cleaners. Then you wouldn’t waste nearly all your first day of holiday having to wait until five o’clock, in most cases to get your key. I think a big meeting of staff and owners is badly need. It’s a lovely place. Don’t spoil it for the sake of a meeting. Regards. Mrs Jennifer Russell.

The lodge was clean, spacious and well furnished but needs updating. Mattresses a bit hard for us. Staff were pleasant but dissappointed with the food at the Waveney Inn! Beautiful location, peaceful and relaxing.

Excellent site and very clean and friendly. One small issue is that the arrangements for filling up a large motorhome with fresh water are not ideal.

Lovely sized private pitch. Great having water on tap. Nice view. Showers and toilets very good. Lovely countryside location. Slightly disappointed with the cafe/pub. Food basic and interior a bit lacking in atmosphere, but the service was really friendly and the waitresses were fab. Hired a small boat for a day £175.00. Definitely would not recommend this! Noisy, and uncomfortable.

I had not been to the centre before and I was quite surprised on my arrival at its size and amenities. The reception I received from the staff was very good and we had a good laugh.(which is always relaxing and a bonus). The engine room was up to a good standard and very clean. I think that one negative would be the motor noise from outside when the window is open but i am afraid that there is not a lot you can do about that. The food and staff were very good in the restaurant and there wasn't anything too much trouble for them. The breakfast was sooooooooo good. Filled me up for the long ride home. Thankyou one and all. I WILL BE BACK. DAVID GODSON

The centre is in a very nice location and kept very clean and tidy. The showers were kept immaculate which is important to all campers. The actual campsite needs a little bit more "finishing off" especially around the lodges where the roads were not tarmacked and looked a little unkempt which let it down. There is no privacy between the camping pitches though they are well defined. There was a group of 3 pitches opposite us during our stay that setup tents only feet apart which is dangerous and also against camping rules, this creates a fire hazard but they were not asked to space the tents accordingly which was a surprise. The onsite pub restaurant is really nice but we attempted to use the App to order food but this did not work, we emailed them through the App but the site did not respond during our stay. It wouldn't take much to turn this site into a 5 STAR site other than a bit of attention to detail.
