“Sadly I flipped a few weeks ago with you, as it happens one of the offers was British Gas, the provider I was with but £20 a month cheaper. British Gas has just taken the higher amount from my bank account. Please help, what is going on?”

We’re really sorry, this isn’t the service we wanted you to have.
It could be due to your energy consumption, you may have used more last month. To find out why they have taken a higher payment than expected, you’ll need to contact British Gas directly, as they will be able to tell you why you paid as much as you did. We won’t be able to contact them for you, due to data protection rules. “System to flip was very easy BUT on receiving information the following day about the Company we had flipped to for Gas and electricity we were surprised to find out that they were charging DOUBLE the amount promised for the first month so that they had money in credit. It therefore would take 4 months to see any savings per month in bills. The amount I was advised I would save over the year was OVER £50 less than their figure PLUS if I did not receive back the first part of the DOUBLE payment I had paid in the first month it would be OVER £150 less than what they advised me. I think Companies should advise of this procedure before they draw you in. So not really sure whether I would recommend or not as maybe all companies do not work the same”
