Ferry’s are usually clean and modern. Service is often late and it’s unbelievably expensive. There aren’t many alternatives so they have a captive market. A cynical rip off, but what choice do you have if you need to get your car to and from the Island.

Hi Anonymous I'm sorry your opinion of our service is so poor. Generally speaking, Wightlink's reliability compares well against that of our competitors' (we display our service performance each month on our 'About Wightlink' webpage). However, I realise this will come as little consolation to any customers affected. It can also be worth checking our Discounts and offers webpage to see if there's a deal to take advantage of. Sorry once again. I do hope you will consider travelling with us again at some point in the future.

Expensive and ruined my Christmas and my 2 1/2 year old Christmas going to see her nanny Christmas Eve!! Because I’d pre booked tickets but at NO point did it say when the last ferry was to fishbourne!! So I had a long drive home to surrey with a disappointed little girl and had to use red funnel Christmas Day So no star rating from me

Hello Allistair Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you experienced problems when travelling over Christmas. Your pre-booked tickets would have been for a specific time. I'm not certain from your message whether you booked online or through our contact centre. If you rang us and we failed to advise you of the last sailing, I can only apologise.

Hi David I'm glad you find our boats are clean and our staff are friendly. In terms of our fares, I hope you don't mind my copying a reply to another reviewer. It may be of use to you and any other travellers reading this .... Our vehicle fares will increase in line with demand for that crossing. This means you might find lower fares by being more flexible with routes, dates or times - especially on those sailings that fewer customers have booked. There are also other ways customers can save on their fares. It could be worth checking our Discounts and Offers webpage before booking to see if there are any deals that can be taken advantage of (one of the most popular offers is to Boost the value of Tesco Clubcard vouchers by x 3 their value to use with us). Simply hover over the ‘Ferry information’ menu on the top of our website. If you’re staying overnight or longer, it may also be worth checking with your hotel or accommodation provider to see if they offer reduced ferry deals – some may even include ferry travel as part of their packages. Finally, customers signed up to receive our newsletters by email are kept informed of various news, events and special offers we may run from time to time (to sign-up please visit our website). Thanks again for travelling with us. I do hope you find something of interest in the above to help you secure the best possible fare for future travel.

My wife and I have used Wightlink for the past 10 years as our son lives on the I.O.W. The service has improved to a better standard over the years. Thankyou Wightlink

We give Wightlink 5stars for service, staff and punctuality cannot fault them. The ferry going to Fishbourne excellent looked brand new, but disapointed on the return the upholstery was very stained and dirty, we went to sit on the plastic seats.

Hi Christine Thank you for such a nice review. I'm sorry to read the state of the upholstery on one of our ferries has let us down. St Clare is due for her refit period in January so will appear much more spruced up on her return to service.

Hi Diana, Thanks for leaving your review. Generally speaking, the earlier customers book the lower the fare will be, especially on those sailings that fewer customers are booking onto. It can also be worth checking out our Discounts and offers webpage in case there's a deal you can take advantage of (Boosting Tesco Clubcard vouchers by 3 x times their value to use with us is a popular offer). For travellers staying one night or more on the Isle of Wight, it's worth checking with the hotel or accommodation provider in case they offer reduced ferry fares - some will even include free ferry travel as part of a package. Finally, it can be worth signing up to receive our emailed newsletter to be kept informed of the latest news, events and promotions we're running. Thanks again for travelling with us. I hope some of the suggestions above are useful to you at some point in the future.

Poor service and communication during the recent spell of bad weather. Incorrect emails sent out by Wightlink caused unnecessary rearrangements for myself and family. Couldn't even get a piece of toast to eat as they had run out of bread !
