“For quite some time I have been buying roasted nuts from Asda Southgate - 2 × 200g for the offer price of £3.50. The packaging looked luxury and the quality of the nuts ( walnuts, almonds, pistachios etc ) was exceptional.
Recently Asda management decided to discontinue this fantastic product and replace it ( the same £3.50 offer ) with something looking bad and tasting as bad - cheap transparent packaging and nuts of suspicious origin, categorically not roasted by professionals.
Asda's management definitely did it as a cost cutting exercise. However, if your customers stop buying them ( and they will, no-one wants to break a tooth or eat something smelling musty ), check your accounts - Oops! Profits decreased!
And I was just beginning to look at Asda as a verry acceptable and pleasant supermarket.
Me - back to M&S, cheaper and better!”
“I’ve shopped with Asda for years, online and in the shop but won’t be any longer. Had an online delivery last week where over £20 worth off chilled goods were missing. Asda are acknowledging the error but will not refund me because I paid with an Asda evoucher. So Asda keep the goods and the voucher.
Can’t even submit a complaint because they said there is nothing they can do.
Two calls to customer service and two promised call backs and never heard from them.
Tried Facebook Messenger and got no where.
I cannot understand how a company thinks it’s acceptable to keep a customer’s payment, in any format, and not provide the goods in return, or return the original payment method.”
“Today i was shopping in asda at great bridge and was looking at some nappies for my daughter when a rude employee bumped into my trolley and said under his breath that i should have moved my trolley in the first place my trolley was well out of the way. I will no longer be shopping in the store again customers have the right to shop and employees need to learn some manners and be polite to customers even if they are having a bad day dont take it out on the customers end of”
“I bought some cookies on normal price. At home I realised that they were already out of date by 4 months!
How can they keep it on the shelves for that long?! It’s unsafe”
“Asda...have a fixation with soft cobs.. crusty type cobs are in the minority.. I have complained before but nobody listens...and why should they ?...The store managers are very secure in their cushy jobs....”
“our delivery from phil was honestly amazing! phil was very patient with us as we emptied everything from the crates before bringing them back to him and was very kind.”
“My recent grocery order came with three unsatisfactory items. Two were short dated and one was out of date. I requested a refund for all three items. Two were refunded and one was declined. The one they declined was the item that was out of date. I wouldn't normally bother writing a review but this riled me. After speaking to someone at customer care they said they would refund me. You woul think that they would refund this out of date item immediately rather than risking any bad publicity that they are selling out of date items. Shame on you Asda.”
“Thank you to the lovely young woman who twice this week has given such lovely customer service and to the older ladies at the faster checkout and veggie counters.”
“I understand this review will probably not change people's shopping methods, but trying to complain against ASDA's own customer service is impossible...there is no way to do so, so they are basically a law unto themselves. So any problems associated with poor customer service remain unsolved and in fact, undocumented. So bear that in mind if you buy any products, as you are limited to what you can get from them, as there is no consequence for their actions./ Just to confirm I have emailed and spoken to them.”
“I'm sick of shopping at Asda.
The staff are unhelpful always.
You always have to use the self-checkout, that Always goes wrong.
I'm fed up with their fresh fruit being off when you open the pack or off by the next day.
Staff do nothing if you complain in store.
You can't email to complain.
Last week I found prices are different at the till to the price on the shelf, but only found out that on getting home and doing my accounts.
Today, I find the kiosk isn't open until 8am now, and I've done in there by 7.30am.
This all relates to the Barrow-In-Furness branch, that used to be a nice place to shop, in the 1970s.
There would have been no need to write this today, but as I can't contact Asda without waiting forever on the phone then I may as well warn others as Asda are not interested in putting things right.”
“Only bought these peppers on Tuesday. Go to cut into the red one and there's all mould in it. This is totally unaceptable. Not the first time this has happened. They don't check their stock. Selling things that are past their sel by date. Staff are more interested in having their mothers meetings at the self checkout. Will be shopping elsewhere from now on!”
“Bought the valentines meal deal very impressed I live alone but thought I’d try it for the first time please do other meal deals for us singles we still like to eat well but don’t want to go to a restaurant alone well done Asda”
“had the winter warmer in the cafe of our local asda. Soup was gloopy it stuck on spoon. No roll this year but a slice of bread which was dry butter was hard so bread fell apart, teabag was of poor quality - £1 never went back their again”
“Asda has a great range of organic food, fresh and tinned - probably the best of all supermarkets. It's also reasonably priced. It caters for vegan and gluten free diets and the staff in my local store (Chester) are friendly and helpful.”
“Went to Asda Spondon this evening was walking to checkout with my hands full tripped on a pice of plastic that tangled rd my trainer my husband caught me from falling on my face the two women colleagues whom saw picked plastic up and never asked if I was ok but then as I walked away the two women thought it was funny having a laugh about it how rude and unprofessional and no thought for how could of turned out had my husband not been at my side.”
“I am regular customer of Asda store in Fratton Portsmouth .
I am always very impressed by the service, Portsmouth Asda store gives.
Lovely friendly staff to help you when you're looking for some help. Who are happy to help when asked and know their stock . Which is very refreshing now adays.
Most other food stores the staff are hopeless, not knowing where any thing is.
The cheaper stores might have some lower prices, but the shopping experience is rubbish with very poor choice of your favourite products.
Asda keeps their stock fresh bringing in new lines. In all their departments. Not just with the food.
Shopping in a store with everything under one roof is very helpful.
I have noticed over the last few weeks , some of the basic the essential products have been reduced in price. This has made a big difference to me, when I check out to pay. I am only working part- time at the moment, Paying less for my weekly shop has been very good. Thank you Asda.
I have been shopping in this store for 5 years now. It's been time and money well spent. I look forward to the new Spring collections in this store and I will continue shopping in the Asda store in Portsmouth , I would not shop any where else.”
“The quality of the vegetables were a disgrace. Looked as though they had lay there for weeks.
Prices have went through the roof.
I will stick to Tesco in future.”
“Redditch Asda. I bought 4 pizzas less than half price. Joked to the member of staff who was muslim how nice they are. But the veggie ones have no taste. I said the meaty ones are nice has well, then he started saying I can eat chicken, but not pig. He kept going on and on until I said you can't eat these then because they've got gammon or bacon on. Kept going back I can eat chicken, I love chicken. Absolute nerd and we get accused of racism.”
