This is the biggest scam - they are not to be trusted - they post pictures and what you get is completely different - I spent a lot of money buying and was scammed - beware - don’t ever do business - and they will say they lost your things and never refund you - you can’t get a hold of anyone - they are thieves

judge for yourself look at the photos decorative mineral auctions object not accepted expert does not accept a bracelet with opal and then you see in the same auction bracelets rings this evident that experts take care of their business by hiding behind the names of sellers. all approved. among other items are purchased on eBay auction at bargain prices there are honest sellers

I have mixed experiences. As a buyer and experienced collector I already got several excellent objects there. On the other Hand I also had some bad experienced. First of all - many sellers add crazy high shipping costs. For example I ordered a drawing, basically an A4 piece of paper. Shipping was 22 Euro (!) - inside EU - I checked the prices, for 14 € I could get a 20kg package incl. insurance I contacted catawiki support but just received a generic email, which basically said - contact the seller, no our problem. I have the impression that many sellers on Cata make an extra high shipping price just in case their auctions don't go to well. Other than ebay, Cata doesn't care about this. Also there was no possibility to contact the sellers before you bought the object. So you MUST pay before you can have any communication. As I never bought anything above 300€ so far, my risks weren't too high, but buying something of the really expensive stuff I probably won't risk, especially after reading the other reviews.

Does Catawiki connive with scammers? It's up to you deciding... After having demonstrated with an official CISGEM expertise that lot 27112007 No reserve price - 18 kt. Yellow gold - Earrings Blood Coral is made of PLASTIC and TIN and not 18kt gold and coral, after countless emails with Catawiki assistance etc, finally Catawiki replies to me "Dear Mrs. Gilda, Thank you for sending back the lot to the seller, I remind you that the refund will be made by Catawiki after receiving confirmation that the lot has been returned to the seller in the same condition as it was received. It will be my concern to get in touch with you again as soon as there are updates. " Well, DHL tried the delivery of the package yesterday but... the Catawiki seller, LARAGM = Lara García Rodríguez Vintage Lara's Jewels SL Avenida Diagonal 304 AT3 08013 Barcelona DID NOT COLLECT the returning package ... and ...Catawiki does not return me the 460 euros spent for the fake jewel I ALSO WARN YOU that all lots of so-called "vintage jewelry" of this seller report the following statement "It has been verified using several tests, including an acid test, that this piece is made of 18 kt gold. 750 hallmark stamp". Which means.. the 18 kt stamp is not there .. but we have tested the vintage jewel and we assure you that it is gold .... Nevertheless Catawiki DOES NOTHING TO STOP IT. There are currently more than 100 lots on sale of completely fake "vintage jewelry", no reserve price, no 18 KT stamp and with identical repeated coral and turquoise stone drops in multiple lots, identical patterns in both coral and turquoise etc etc Just looking at the photos of LARAGM lots together, it is clear that this is a bad and coarse printed costume jewelry which, despite numerous appeals, Catawiki allows to be put up for sale as true vintage jewelry. A colossal deal for LARAGM! maybe for Catawiki too.. Catawiki DID NOT ACTIVATE even having signaled that it 's quite unbelievable that no one of the 100 lots on sale is marked 18 kt since "vintage jewelry" it's commonly collected from private market and it looks unpossible that all the so called "vintage jewels" do not have the 18kt stamp Waiting for my reimbursement and the effect of the police report that I am going to file .. evaluate on your own..

Basicly its a scam. 2 times now a Items is not send to me. Catawiki makes all kinds of excuses. Costing a lot of time to get your money back. I found out a seller uses random pokemon pictures from google and sells the times as his. Not shipping after that. I contacted Catawiki and the did nothing about it. The not even wanted to see the picture links. One big scam operation going on over there. Do not use Catawiki, you will lose money! Vic!

I consider that Catawiki are extremely unreliable, because I have written 3 messages in due time and they only responded to the third one, although they could see in the system that I had an argument with the seller who sent us a painting with multiple holes in the paint, advertised as good. Catawiki said we did not write in time and they paid the seller. The seller had said to us that he will do what Catawiki tells him to. Catawiki contact system is completely unreliable because there is no automatic confirmation of the complaint and also the complaint is not directly registered as CLAIM with legal number, we did not get any confirmation and no answer. It is their duty to protect the buyer not only the seller. As buyer I completely respected my contract, Catawiki has cashed their money - auction fees -when paying the seller, so it was in their interest to pay the seller and ignore our repeated messages / claims. As long as there was no settling of the claim with the seller and they could see this in their system, they were not normally supposed to pay him.

As a painter selling in Catawiki I have to say thet the experience is not good at all. You are completely under the will of the experts wich sometimes accept your work (mostly not) without any criteria. Impossible to contact them unless you submit another time to receive the automatic answer. It doesn't matter if you try to ask something politely. They don't answer. Mostly they tell you to read the submission headlines. I do it over and over again and I find nothing wrong about my art. But... When you sell they really make money out of you. They should treat sellers better. For example: The one with the ducks was aproved and sold. The one with the dog is impossible to get it aproved... ¿Why?

READ PLEASE IT'S ABOUT YOUR MONEY ! After demonstrating with a CISGEM experties that the earrings I bought as "27112007 No reserve price - 18 kt. Yellow gold - Earrings Blood Coral - Pearls" Sold by LARAGM Spain" ARE MADE OF PLASTIC .... I can't get back my money from Catawiki becouse the seller does not answer. Catawiki procedures require payments directly to their company but if you have to take back your money, even if you demonstrated the scam, it's your own affair. If the seller does not answer they do not cooperate Another GEM..if you ask for Catakiki assistance you are no more allowed to write a review to the cheater seller and more and more people will be cheated with the connivance of Catawiki. And indeed ,despite the fact I have allerted Catawiki, mrs Laragm yesterday sold another fake earring twin of mine NO. 60307027 "18 kt gold coral and diamonds " thanks to Catawiki connivance .

I purchased a LV handbag and it ended up to be a fake one. I contacted the seller and we both agreed to return it back and get my refund. In the meanwhile, I did inform Catawiki customer service by email about this case, sending them multiple photos to prove that the bag is not authentic. Today I got an email from them saying that the experts didn’t find enough evidence and as per their point of view the bag is authentic which is ridiculous! I have so many different models of LV plus the one I ordered, I have the same at home personally purchased from LV. This is so unprofessional and so disgusting what happened to me. They are going to release my money to the seller regardless our agreement with him and the proofs I sent. Im going to look for my legal rights by opening a case against Catawiki. Such things don’t have to happen to anyone. The fact that Catawiki cares about the sellers and their commission only. Seriously???!!! Please be careful with this site because if something happens Catawiki will not do anything!!!!

extremely bad experience. beware of this dodgy seller: listing as authart: Guy Kuypers / ECM NV Elsense Steenweg 204 1050 Brussels Belgium Ripple Art Auctions rippleartauctions@gmail.com If you buy they don't ship if it is a nice item. They dont answer and reply. Catawiki does nothing to stop them, they even let them continue listing. Do not reply to your concerns either. They cheat other collectors on other platform as well. I report them to the police and you should do to. They only way to stop such bad sellers.

I bought a ring online and it was incorrectly advertised. The vendor agreed, I returned the item and received a refund. However, I have not received a refund of the import duties and Catawiki are refusing to assist me in obtaining this. I have been left to deal with the vendor, HMRC with no support whatsoever.

this is a practical example of a corrupt site where the expert is very likely to take care of his business, otherwise he would have no problem accepting a similar object, indeed the same look at the photos, objects approved only by two only non-professional French sellers. purchased on eBay .com from vendors pongpanotgems, gemsporium, etc. for a few euros. and resold on catawiki.

corrupt sites run by corrupt experts, with high probability that they sell them articles, send new guidelines, but do not respect themselves or at least do not apply to everyone, maybe except for them. and for accomplices these are the clear evidence. guidelines sent in April by Naomi h. and Debora mazza in May read the date of the offers. in the photos, But there are others. opals etc. read the minimum weight in the guidelines and the minimum characteristics.

So I bid on 3 paintings and won all three. I go to pay, and I get declined. The site advises me to contact my credit card. I contact my credit card and they tell that they didn't get any request for approval. I email Catawiki and explain the situation. According to their website they are suppose to respond within 2 business days. After three business days, I get no answer, but I do get a nasty email saying I late with my payment. In reality, according to their site I have three business days to pay. I call them and explain the situation and complain about receiving the nasty email and not receiving an answer to my email. The answers I get are the they have no control over the emails that their computer sends out and that they can't always get through all the emails they get in a timely fashion. The representative said that she will escalate my issues to financing department and get back to me with a solution. After another three days of waiting, and not getting any answers, I tried my credit card again and this time was successful.

I wonder how it is possible for me to be denied absolutely all the artworks for 2 months now, by a single expert. I started selling my paintings in February and I think I had a very good start, with wonderful feedback from customers. Later, when this expert started repetitively refusing all my submitted paintings, I started to approach other styles and topics, taking into account that standard feedback that is sent when an object is rejected by this platform. The biggest dilemma I had was when 3 works already accepted, were eventually denied: 1. Lot NO. 56682881 - which was not paid by the winner of that auction (March 18th) and should have automatically entered the next appropriate auction. Please note that the 'Re-auction unpaid objects' option (which provides that "Any unpaid objects will automatically be added to the next applicable auction"), has been active since I made this account. 2. Lot NO. 57585007 and Lot NO. 57529275 (Closed in April 18th) - which I initially submitted with the price reserve, then, for as they did not reach this reserve, I submitted them again without a price reserve and they were rejected by the same expert, who had initially accepted them. I was informed by the site that these objects will no longer go through the evaluation process, following them to enter the next appropriate auction, as well as the lot NO. 56682881. Therefore, I thought that maybe it was an error, so I added these 3 works again and left a message for each, for the expert who was to receive them (same "expert"). In 30 minutes I received the classic email with the standard text for rejected items ...

extremely disappointed by their unprofessional behaviour. I purchased an item and paid my commission to catawiki. The artwork was not exactly as I thought and I sent it back with their authorization. The Seller claimed that it was damaged. Catawiki says I have to solve it directly with the Seller. The seller does not respond. I have never received my payment back. Catawiki has retained its commission. I was cheated
