I bought an item and payed over £500, tried to contact customer service -impossible, telephone numbers which are not recognised. I would like to know what is happening. The worst possible customer service ever experienced. Still have not managed to get a response from them

CATAWIKI DOES NOT ALLOW BUYERS TO CONTACT SELLERS UNTIL AFTER THE PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE.BAD POLICY. IN MANY OCASSIONS ITEMS ARE FAKE COPIES SOLD FOR A HIGH PRICE THEY MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTACT COSTUMER SERVICE AND SAY THEY WILL CALL YOU BACK IN 2 OR 3 BUISNESS DAYS AND THEY DONT. THEY REALLY DONT HAVE ANY EXPERTS THERE THEY HAVE SCAMMERS. I BID AND WON MY LAST ITEM THERE AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE SELLER RE; SHIPPING COST THEY EMAILED ME BACK AND SAID THE SELLER DOES NOT SHIP TO US. SO I DID NOT PAY. THEY ARE NO LONGER ALLOWING ME TO BID ON ANYTHING ELSE. CATAWIKI WILL BE CLOSING DOWN AS THEY CONTINUE LIKE THIS

Worst of the worst. Avoid at all cost. I bought an item that (to make a very long story very short) couldn't be shipped. Catawiki never informed me of this until after - on their advice - I had paid import tolls. Now 2.5 months later I'm still waiting for a refund for the object I purchased. And Catawiki are saying that they won't refund the import duties (which again, they told me to pay). Companies at these should honestly not be allowed to operate.

You win, you pay but you never receive the item for which you have paid. You then begin complaining to Catawiki and to the seller. Catawiki never responds and the seller blames the post. You will end up realizing how stupid you are to trust a gang of internet scampers. STAY AWAY!

They are absolutely bad company !!!! I won a few things from the same seller and they proposed me to send everything together so that I can spare money for post but they were not able to adjust the lots price and they told me to pay full cost because they are not able to do that and then hope that the seller will send me back to much paid cost !!!!! This is absolutely not normal and realistic!!!! This is cheating!!!!!! Please avoid them !!!!!

Fortunately, i read all the reviews before I bid. Most of the items were precious and rather good value for money. But probably worth more if the items were real and genuine. However, i sense something is not right and could be scamming. AFter all these reviews below, my suspicions are confimed. Too good to be true! stop buying.

Terrible customer service. Had a good experience initially. Eventually I didn't get a lot I had paid, and instead of trying to help the customer representative referred to the terms and conditions. Stay away.

Last month I have purchased (or "won", since it's an auction) 8 different lots through Catawiki. I have had major issues with 2 out of 8 (an artwork was received severely damaged, in another case I have ordered a lot of wine bottles and received different bottles from a different producer). While Catawiki is clearly not directly responsible for these issues, I as appalled by the lack of support I have received from Catawiki in order to obtain redress. Filing complaints is discouraged by the company on their webpage, recommending instead to get in touch and solve the issue directly with the sellers (while at the same time Catawiki gives you only 3 days to report an issue, before they release the payment to the seller). But if sellers prove unhelpful, Catawiki will just show no interest (despite the fact they take a generous cut of the transaction!) and be of zero help. Hence I suspect that the high likelihood of fraudulent sales (2 out of 8 in my case) may not be a coincidence but rather a consequence of Catawiki's inaction when sellers fail to respect their obligations

Horrible customer service. When something goes wrong, there is no or very slow customer support. I won a lot, paid on time, but the seller did not ship the goods on time, while my credit card is already charged. No news or feedback from Catawiki either. Be careful with this online platform! They cannot support you if something goes wrong!

I was offered by Catawiki in a relatively low price of an 18k white gold diamond pendant in devil teddy bear shape. I confirmed my purchase at 6:23pm (11:23 CET) of 6 January 2021. The deadline for such was 21:13 (CET) of 8 January 2021. Since I found I could not pay, I informed Catawiki at once, on 6 January 2021. Proof from my attached picture/s. Catawiki blamed me that I missed the deadline. They adduced no evidence to support their allegation. However, last time I found that even after paying for the winning lot, they didn't post it to me but had the same item resell on auction in the following Friday. There was an intended purchaser who won in a higher price. I am Whether it was the real reason for not posting to me? This time, they alleged with no evidence that I missed the deadline and refused to sell me.

I spend high dollar amount on this site on the weekly bases for my watch business. Most of the watches come not properly working which is not described! There is no help from Catawiki. NO buyer protection whatsoever!!! Paid over $1000 for the watch that was delivered somewhere else. Seller is not responding. Catawiki is not helping at all!!! DONT EVER BUY THERE!

After receiving a substandard Seiko watch which Catawiki said had been properly checked, I reported to them that the watch had failed both mechanically and in assembly. The watch face had fallen out after 2 days. and the thing stopped after 3 weeks never to go again. All Catawiki did was tell me to contact the seller, which I did, twice, with zero result. Catawiki just take your money with no ongoing responsibility for the item they have sold. DONT BUY FROM THIS SITE.

A website run by scammers. The 'experts' barely know a thing, make decisions based on PHOTOS and the website asks crazy ammounts of commissioncosts (for buyer and seller)! Helping costumers or sellers? NADA! Stay away!

The "experts" of the fossil section are unable to identify fake items, and forgeries or cheap reconstructions plague their entire catalog. Species are misidentified, and almost every entry is labelled "museum quality" or some non-sense along those lines. This is to be expected on eBay, but not on a supposedly curated site. The recommended prices are always ludicrous, most of the time over triple the real market value. Not too surprising considering the hefty commissions Catawiki charges. They try to artificially drive up the price. Incidentally the items with jacked-up price estimates tend to be of the same sellers. Interpret that as you will. Shipping fees are absurd. Small items located in a city 100km away which could be shipped insured for 5€ have shipping fees of a minimum of 18€, and frequently into the 30s. Catawiki operates more like a mafia than a curated auction house. Please do not take their curated information by face value. Make sure the price is fair and that the items are authentic.

What an experience with Catawiki. Just bad. Send in 3 lots, being postage stamps MNH, full year 1952, it was refused because I asked a minimum price. Another lot with numbers 36 and 37, the experts say that there were doubts about the authenticity. However, bought them through Kaiser, the reference for certificates. Another lot were minerals and this lot was refused without explanation. All lots are sold through 2nd hand and eBay. Costs 0.11 euros per advertisement. Moral of the story: There are so-called pseude experts who are playing lottery. These are probably people who do not know anything about their business. The biggest criticism, however, is the auction cost. Can you imagine that the seller pays more than 15% and the buyer pays almost the same amount. To me this is a pure scam.
