“Having ordered trees in November still not come March 1st. I learn from other suppliers that due to pandemic unprecedented demand. When I emailed to ask for honest update on delivery they immediately apologised and since they were still experiencing demand with aback log I had an immediate return of my money. Very good treatment and would therefore try them again. March 3rd 2021”

“After an earlier good experience made order for Raspberry in October 2020. Del promised for “before Dec 2020. Nothing now March 2021. No communication. Written off as fraudulent. Buyer beware.”

“Unsure if this company is completely disorganised or actually fraudulent. Bad reviews everywhere you look reflect my own experience. Tree ordered mid Nov after confirming availability. Not received by 1st March. Payment taken at point of ordering. Phone lines un-manned as "too busy" - "but still taking orders on-line". No or poor responses to emails. Delivery then promised in circular email by mid/late Feb . Hello March - no tree. The statistics shown on this review page in relation to delivery and communications are miles out.”

“Email enquiry about a potential order (20+ trees of various types/varieties). Misread my email with unhelpful reply. No response to my follow-up email. No response to phone calls. What a shame. Unsure if stricken with Covid-19, post-Brexit labour supply, or simply overwhelmed with orders. Will take my business elsewhere.”

“Ordered trees 12th Jan 2021 ... they said they had exceptional demand and it would take 28 days , fine , I,m ok with that ... Now 25th Feb , still no trees and getting too late to plant ... They won,t respond to e-mails , phone calls , so I suspect they,ve gone bankrupt , taking my money with them ... I don,t think those trees ever existed ... BUYER BEWARE !!!”

“Ordered trees on November 11. Email on December 12 Bowers apologised for delay and promised imminent delivery Now February 1 and no trees and no information either. Looking for alternative supplier.”

“I ordered 3 x fruit trees in August for October-December delivery. Nothing has arrived. I've sent emails but still no progress. I'm starting to doubt that they will ever arrive. Another email will be sent today as a final reminder. I'll update the review when I know more.”

“Two apple trees ordered in mid September for delivery between October and December. Was promised various delivery dates as a result of numerous emails. All of these dates have now passed and they have stopped replying to my emails. Phone calls only ever go to answer phone. If you have ordered from this company and are awaiting your items then please lodge a claim with your bank for items not received. They deliberately set their delivery estimates the same length of time as the bank gives for claiming through them so that you have no recourse and they have to do absolutely nothing for the money they have already taken from you. Please do not ever use this company if you have any intentions of actually planting the plants you purchase.”

“Ordered 2 damson trees on 18th August, I have emailed, phoned, (answer phone), promised they would arrive soon, taken 5 months and still no trees. Ordered some trees from Marshall, arrived within the month. Very disappointed.”

“I ordered 2 standard gooseberry bushes. Chris Bowers were the only Nursery that sold the varieties I wanted. John Bowers was very helpful and replied to my emails quickly. The plants arrived within 2 days and are planted and growing well! Thank you.”

“This nursery is excellent. The plants are very healthy and strong. The prices are very good and postage is surprisingly cheap. They even deliver to the Highlands and there is no punishing postage added. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I would buy from them again and they get full marks. Many thanks!”

“Customer service 5* Price - good sized plants that you would expect for the price. Delivery 5* I've ordered 7 grape vines through Chris Bowers. The vines have arrived healthy and happy and grown on really well. Delivery to Northern Ireland was promote and date through DHL. The vines were ordered in separate orders and the Reason for a dropped star is that the leaves on two plants supposed to be the same don't match. That said I'm sure they will help me with identification of the varieties when I contact them.”

“Impressive list of fruit trees on web site , all said to be home grown and reasonably priced. Ordering easy and descriptions generally accurate though could be more informative as to size of each tree as delivered. Delivery offered for late Autumn which was Ok, but in fact items delivered within 2 weeks of order. Arrived well packaged with ample straw packing to keep trees in good condition. The Courier clearly took some care in delivering the package undamaged. Yet to see how the trees will grow but so far well pleased with my purchase.”

“Exemplary treatment from Chrisbowers Nursery. Springtime order was thwarted by Covid19, but I repeated it a couple of weeks ago and was asked whether I would like part delivery in containers now instead of in the autumn. Carefully packed Supercolumn apple trees have just arrived here in the South West, one day after being sent off from Norfolk. They are about 1.5 metres high and look sturdy and full of life with no sign of disease, and they have been properly pruned for their intended purpose. I'm very impressed by this nursery's products and procedure.”
