Shocking discrimination in your Wigan branch, apparently the manager Susan Cain, thinks the disability discrimination laws don’t apply to her and her staff, iv been on the receiving end of her blatant disregard for the law, but since then I’m seeing countless posts on social media that it’s still happening. I did ring head office to complain and you tried to shift the blame onto myself, maybe that’s how head office expect your employees to behave, shocked and disappointed

On trying to enter your store - Grand arcade, Wigan branch - earlier today, I was greeted with the some of the most vile customer service I have ever had the misfortune to receive.I was not only refused entry, but humiliated because I am medically exempt from wearing a face covering.I tried to explain that I do not wear a lanyard, as I do not wish to publicly display that I am disabled - This is in line with government guidelines: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own "Exemption cards If you have an age, health or disability reason for not wearing a face covering: you do not routinely need to show any written evidence of this you do not need show an exemption card" However, I was denied entry regardless.I then asked to speak to the manager of the store - Susan Cain (who, which I might add is medically exempt herself) I obviously assumed she may understand my sistuation better, however I was shocked, and appalled to find that her stance was even more despicable than that of the first employee.I explained that company policy DOES NOT supercede the law, and that their denial of entry was infact breaking the law - i.e, the equalities act 2010, in where I have protected characteristics.With that taken into account, both the store, and it's employees have committed a disibility hate crime.What I was subjected to is unlawful.I was not only denied entry, but also publicly humiliated infront of lots of other customers, and passers by.I will be taking this further.A complaint has also been sent to head office.

Absolutely abysmal customer service, they fail to deliver your order, refuse to send a replacement, instead I have to loose my discount and pay delivery again, very disappointed

For a short and top combo and only the T-shirt turn up then they asked for me to send a T-shirt back for a refund and then buy the item again in the hope that they will both turn disgusting that they can’t be bothered to send the item yet they expect me to

Ordered items online excellent service lovely clothing even their shoes are so comfortable love their clothing excellent quality had my ordered delivered in a day .Would highly recommend River Island for their great clothing and shoes

So sick of river island putting their logo all over their accessories and now their clothing and shoes,their prices have shot up and now they want you to advertise their brand when you wear them,I don't understand why they thought monogramming their clothes would be a good idea,just makes them look cheap in my opinion

It was the worst online seller I had to deal with. I made an order mid January and a week later, realised I woykd habe to pay for additional taxes for customs. As this was not at any point mentioned by the seller, I reached out to their customer support complaining about this. No solution was presented and 2 weeks later I am informed by the local courier that the package was sent back to the shipper without informing me of that. By tracking the parcel, I saw it was already with the seller, but not updated in my order status. Basically, I have no clothes, no money back, no explanation from the seller. Just a complete disbelief of such a poor service or better yet, lack thereof.

I wish I could give zero stars... Let me tell you all that the negative reviews here shows exactly what kind of a company River island is!! They keep your money, bring silly excuses for almost a month only to NOT refund you! This is the most unprofessional company I have ever made online purchase as other companies are extremely supportive of customers specially during the COVID but this company will now come here and will ask me to kindly email them and just like their twitter, they will accuse me of lying and never refund me when they have already collected my parcel about a month ago! Shocking experience!!!

I ordered this: 792830. I purchased when it was full price (£70) and it is the worst quality I’ve ever seen! After 3 months of wearing it it has went extremely bobbly, it has all clicked and it looks like I have just bought it from Primark - if not worse! Extremely disappointed and they won’t do anything about it... Terrible quality of clothing, extremely over priced and customer service is lowest of the low.

So I recently got a purse from my brother in law as a gift. I usually do but this time I am seriously disgruntled about the product. Looks really nice but not good. This is my fifth time using it in less than a month and stitches are torn and other areas bursting out. This leads me to wonder if River Island is now selling faulty products.

Dreadful customer service. The product arrived faulty and I keep receiving generic responses from their customer service team asking me to post the product back despite the fact I have said I live in ROI where we don’t have free postage. They asked for photos of the product which I sent and then I get a reply two days later asking for more photos then they decide that I have to bring the product back in store instead despite the fact their store is closed here. Absolutely ridiculous.

I tried to exchange 2 T-shirts at the White rose centre today that were Christmas presents, to be told they would do noting to help me as it's past 14 days since they were purchased in December. I didn't want refunds, only an exchange. I've been online to read their Christmas returns policy which says I have until 14th of January. However the manager refused to help. TERRIBLE custom service!

If only I could chose zero star! I made a purchase online 3 days ago for items on SALE. They were available online, I paid and I received the confirmation email. I just received an email telling me that the order has been canceled due to "unavailability"! After receiving payment and confirming that the order was going to be soon dispatched! If I knew I wouldn't have chosen to buy gifts to my family from there as I could have benefited from the SALE elsewhere from Zara or Mango which are actually far more committed to their customers. What a shame

I'd give this company 0 stars - On-line order was sent back with all items, they only refunded one item and have refused, with no explanation, to refund the others. Proof of postage provided with the weight of parcel of all items. Customer services cannot help. Absolute disgrace that this company can get away with robbing customers in these difficult times. Only advise is to do a charge back with the credit card company. I'm not the only customer they have done this too, check TrustPilot. They deserve to go under, daylight robbery.

I'd give -10 if I could. On-line returns policy is appalling. Customer services are ineffective and rude. The company is robing it's loyal customers. Companies like this do not deserve to carry on trading. Hurry up and go bust. You thieves!!

A week ago i ordered a tee, a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. The total order was 701,- DKK (As I live in Denmark). Unfortunately the jeans wasn't the right fit and i didn't really like the sweatshirt, and therefore i wanted to return the items. BUT as I live in Denmark, this was a nightmare. For a week I've tried to contact River Islands' customer service, and every single time there's been the slightest bit of progress, I've been thrown off and a Bot has taken over the customer service's job. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE. I keep on getting referred to River Islands own returns page, which seems to be even worse than the customer service. Is the information i need to return the parcel there? No. Is the site of any help? No. Is there even a return address there, so that i can arrange the return myself? Once again the answer is a big fat NO. River Island is an outrageous company and I would never recommend them to anyone. I find it extremely unfortunate that i can't rate you 0 stars, because truthfully that is what you really deserve.
