“BBC Maestro has absolutely nailed the brief. It’s one of those rare platforms that feels like it’s been designed for real-life people with real-life time constraints. I started watching it during my train rides to work and it turned out to be the best decision I’ve made for my personal development in a long time.
The content is world-class. Every course I’ve dipped into so far is packed full of golden nuggets proper “why didn’t I hear this sooner?” material. We’re not talking fluff or recycled TED Talk clichés. These are genuine life skills, tools, and ways of thinking that go way beyond surface-level advice. And somehow, they’re delivered in a way that doesn’t feel like homework.
What stood out most is the variety. Whether it’s writing, leadership, cooking, or mindset, there’s always something relevant and more importantly, digestible. Each lesson is tight, punchy, and loaded with insight. Perfect for those short bursts of time like commuting, where you want something meaningful but don’t fancy a full-blown lecture.
In a world oversaturated with cookie-cutter content, BBC Maestro feels refreshingly human, wise, and actually useful. You walk away thinking differently — and that’s rare.
If you’ve got a curious mind and hate wasting time, this is a smart investment in yourself.”
“Oh my goodness, what a revelation! I can't understand why I didnt know about this platform before! I came across Maestro almost by accident, whilst searching for something else related to writing courses. I have already consumed Harlen Coben's Programme, dipped in to Agatha Christie and Ken Follett, and and I am sleeping much more soundly, as a result of Stephanie Romiszewski's expert advice. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is a first class, and varied platform, with high production values, and something for everyone. I shall be exploring it all over the weeks to come!”
“So much choice and variety of courses offered, with well known faces in their area of expertise.
I see BBC maestro as a fabulous way to learn, and educate yourself at a relaxed pace.
Keeps your mind active and teaches you new things from people who’ve been there and know what they’re talking about.
Makes you feel like you can achieve something useful, interesting, exciting and who knows where it may lead.”
“Agatha Christie is full of gems! Well-structured and with plenty of resources.
I'm really enjoying probing Agatha Christie's mind and works and the course has generatied some ideas for stories of my own.
One point - could the Writer's Workbook be put at the end of each Module?
I found it hard to locate after I had finished Lesson 2.”
“BBC Maestro offers SO many courses of interest to me. I was skeptical of the AI assisted Agatha Christie course at first, but then watched how it was accomplished and changed my mind. I am enjoying learning through her words brought to life by a whole team of brilliant artists and technicians. I have several other courses on my list to watch and can't wait to begin them. What a great resource BBC Maestro is!”
“Eric seems to be the best voice teacher I had in my live and believe me, I had a lot. I watched through the whole videos on one evening and do the exercises until less than 1 week. I never sung so effortless and free. Thanks Eric, I’m sad that I didn’t get to know you and your skills earlier. If I had, I think I would still on stages. But now I show them what I am able to do with my voice. Thanks for your patience. Ben from Germany”
“It's a great was to be a lifelong learner. And you learn from the best. Wonderful master classes to stay refreshed in the industry you work in as well as learn some new interests in life!”
“I like the conversational format used in the Lee Child course. It's like sitting with him in a living room and listening to his wisdom and experience firsthand. Any question I could have thought of has been considered and included in the discussion - it's just a great learning format. I plan on taking the Harlan Coben course next.”
“I have just started a poetry course, my first experience of Maestro, and I am enjoying it very much. I have some experience of reading and writing poetry, but this is not a necessary requirement of the course. Carol Ann Duffy is an engaging and informative presenter.”
“It is good, so far I like 2 of the classes and not too thrilled witho 2 others I tried. But if you sign up for all classes there are a lot to choose from.”
“I got BBC Maestro just a couple a weeks ago and my first course is with Ken Follet. It’s really informative and enjoyable. I’m halfway through it and look forward to the rest. After this I will take the Isabell Alliende course. I’m stuck!”
“Logging in every time each time my password isn’t recognized. It’s very frustrating because I paid for something that is now difficult to impossible at times to use because of a password. I’ve ready downloaded the app why the extra security? It’s not necessary and it’s keeping me from being able to master, what could change my life. They can email me info to leave a review but not to change my password. It was a complete waste of money for me.”
