Hi Jan, Thank you for your review - I would recommend downloading our App to minimise this issue, rather than watching on a desktop! If that doesn't work, feel free to contact our support team at support@bbcmaestro.com Regards, Zoe

BBC Maestro offers the best advice from the most accomplished experts who deliver it in palatable and easy to understand short lesson chunks. I can’t believe the range of lessons there are. I have taken many lessons in writing, my main interest, but have also taken courses in the art of influence from a secret service office, stand up from Billy Connolly, singing from Eric Vetro, and I am currently enjoying public speaking with Richard Green. I put the programmes up on my large screen TV , so it’s just like having a friendly tutor in the room with you. You can download PDF notes too which is great. I enjoy all the lessons in the knowledge that my tutor is probably the best or one of the best, in their field, in the world.

I've not yet finished my course, but so far, I'm really enjoying it. Great value for money, in terms of time, although I did buy on an offer. It's great to tap into the expertise of the 'tutor' - although one feels a little at sea when being set tasks, because nobody will be able to advise! The filming and delivery is great - you feel like you're in a personal lecture, and the course notes are a great resource. It must be working because I missed my coach to London this morning, because I was - as advised by the lovely Jojo Moyes - lost in thought about my plot and characters! (I won't be billing you/her for compensation...)

I was looking for my favorite writer (Isabel Allende) and I found her in BBC Maestro. I enjoy the topics discussed in her course. Her videos are easy to follow and well made. It is also great that the website has other interesting courses, not only courses about writing. I will be watching those courses too. In addition to that, the website is always working the way it is supposed to.

BBC Maestro has absolutely nailed the brief. It’s one of those rare platforms that feels like it’s been designed for real-life people with real-life time constraints. I started watching it during my train rides to work and it turned out to be the best decision I’ve made for my personal development in a long time. The content is world-class. Every course I’ve dipped into so far is packed full of golden nuggets proper “why didn’t I hear this sooner?” material. We’re not talking fluff or recycled TED Talk clichés. These are genuine life skills, tools, and ways of thinking that go way beyond surface-level advice. And somehow, they’re delivered in a way that doesn’t feel like homework. What stood out most is the variety. Whether it’s writing, leadership, cooking, or mindset, there’s always something relevant and more importantly, digestible. Each lesson is tight, punchy, and loaded with insight. Perfect for those short bursts of time like commuting, where you want something meaningful but don’t fancy a full-blown lecture. In a world oversaturated with cookie-cutter content, BBC Maestro feels refreshingly human, wise, and actually useful. You walk away thinking differently — and that’s rare. If you’ve got a curious mind and hate wasting time, this is a smart investment in yourself.

Oh my goodness, what a revelation! I can't understand why I didnt know about this platform before! I came across Maestro almost by accident, whilst searching for something else related to writing courses. I have already consumed Harlen Coben's Programme, dipped in to Agatha Christie and Ken Follett, and and I am sleeping much more soundly, as a result of Stephanie Romiszewski's expert advice. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is a first class, and varied platform, with high production values, and something for everyone. I shall be exploring it all over the weeks to come!

So much choice and variety of courses offered, with well known faces in their area of expertise. I see BBC maestro as a fabulous way to learn, and educate yourself at a relaxed pace. Keeps your mind active and teaches you new things from people who’ve been there and know what they’re talking about. Makes you feel like you can achieve something useful, interesting, exciting and who knows where it may lead.
