I'm not that enthusiastic. Maybe I'm not far enough, but I think this is a waste of my money so far. It's quite unprofessionally recorded, looking into the wrong camera or into a book. Too bad, I expected more.

Video frequently stopping, either web base or in the app. I don't have such issue on playing other videos such as YouTube or teams video meeting.

I started the wine course - really enjoying it but really struggling to get access to the site. It won’t let me login. I’m using an iPhone for access and it just won’t work.

I signed up for Jonathon yeos course and was very disappointed. He talks about himself a lot but never actually shows us how to do anything. Maybe I misunderstood what I would be getting out of this course but it was a total waste of money.

Hi Lisa, Thanks for your review. We value every BBC Maestro customer, and really value your feedback. All courses have detailed course notes to accompany them, which a lot of learners find really useful when watching a course, especially when completing the course exercises. The notes and exercises can really support you in getting the most out of the course. I hope this helps, but feel free to contact our amazing customer service team at support@bbcmaestro.com if you would like more support! Best, Rebecca

I’m sorry to say I was very disappointed in the Jonathan Yeo lesson. I would describe it as more like a lecture. It was very interesting, but I thought I was subscribing to a lesson, involving an oil portrait painting project for me to undertake. Had I known, I would not have subscribed. It wasn’t that cheap, either.

Disappointed

I was quite disappointed as I thought I would get more information on technique, the hows, and instruction rather than just a history of graphic design. While looking at the works and the process was interesting, I feel like I could have found some of this on YouTube for free.

Found very preachy and not overly informative. Perhaps I’m watching the wrong programmes.

I can't say that I was impressed by the Rankin Photography course as I wasn't. Rankin himself comes across really well but I thought that the practical aspects of the course, such as manual settings were given very little time. Then suddenly he was in a studio with an experienced model, make up artist and lighting assistants. Most photographers will only ever dream of having such facilities. The interviews with the model and the 3 other photographers were informative and interesting but I doubt that anyone will learn a great deal from it. This course tempted me into the Maestro program but I fear it will have been money wasted as Youtube provides far more practical information.

So much potential but most of the courses are terrible. Good production values, poor content. I just gave up after being disappointed three times.

Very mixed in terms of the presenting skills of the ‘Maestro’s. Some may be experts in their fields but are not very personable. Also, I’m very disappointed that they have been trailing a photography course by Rankin but it is still yet to appear and nobody will tell me when it will.

I think the tutor writes some of the most sublime TV dramas I’ve ever seen - I mean Line of Duty was superb. The course? For me it was too advanced. It was more akin to a master class for established writers looking for a spring clean. To reset themselves on a clean technical sheet. I was bored by lesson 3, ditched the course by lesson 8. There seems to be nothing out there for someone like me who has a dozen of pilots and the most dangerously believable antagonists but I don’t know how to get it down. I mean a 15 beat? A seriale?! Not a scooby do. So I’m back in the wilderness with my wonderful fresh original material - why can’t you put on a tv drama writing camp? Spoon feed me the nuts and bolts and see what you get?

There's not a lot of value to the courses. At least the courses I've done so far. Essentially storytelling instead of in depth lectures
