“Big trauma over Christmas happily resolved by Elbec's excellent customer service. I bought my wife a polycarbonate greenhouse for the allotment for Christmas as a surprise. After I missed the initial delivery my wife found out and said she did not want a polycarbonate greenhouse. It was too late to stop the the re-delivery. I contacted Elbec and they were very helpful, saying i should turn away the delivery and they would refund the price, which they did. I Then ordered an Elite glass greenhouse, but without any staging. Buying the staging separately was more expensive, but Elbec talked to Elite and got the staging added to the original order. The greenhouse is now erected down the allotment and my wife is very happy.”

“Seems to be a quality product at a good price. The instructions are comprehensive and easy to follow - reason for loss of a star is that a coupe of elements are missing from the instructions and may need to be amended. Firstly part 3017 (2) are listed in the parts but do not appear anywhere in the instructions. They appear to be some sort of seal but no idea where they go? Similarly part 4037 - the magnetic catch- it is shown where to fit it but no explanation as to how it works ?
It is easy to build but don’t try on a windy day and also make sure it is anchored in some way.”

“This product gets one star because the final shed is a decent enough shed for my bike. However, it loses multiple stars because it is almost impossible to assemble correctly, especially by yourself. I enlisted the help of a professional handyman, and it took us 3 full days to assemble. The instructions (both paper and video from the Absco website) were appalling, and incredibly difficult to follow. The components didn't match what was needed, and the panels had holes where they weren't supposed to be, and no holes where there were. The screws and rivets were of poor quality, so we had to buy some more. I would advise caution before buying this because of the intense frustration experienced when assembling.”

“Purchased a Sun Pent Shed June 2025
Made of cheap inferior wood that either shrinks or swells depending on the weather, windows that do not open and ship lap panels which are now lifting.
Please see my original comments regarding Elbec and Shire on Trust pilot.
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid unless you want a shed that is not fit for the purpose, and a company that gives you the runaround and has NO intention of sorting the problems out.”

We would like to apologise for the ongoing issues you have experienced with your building, particularly given that your original order was placed in May 2025 with delivery in June 2025.
We are sorry to hear that the door became slightly warped following assembly. As timber is a natural material, it can respond to changes in temperature and moisture levels, which may result in some movement over time.
When you contacted us in late July 2027, we noted that the exterior of the building had been treated. As outlined in the aftercare guidelines provided with the instructions, we recommend that both the interior and exterior surfaces are fully treated to help protect the timber and minimise the effects of moisture.
We also advised that the paint colour applied does not act as a full wood preservative. To ensure adequate protection, a suitable preservative treatment is required in addition to decorative finishes.
Timber is a natural material, and variations in grain, knots and appearance are normal characteristics rather than defects. All of our products are manufactured using graded timber that meets industry standards, and with appropriate treatment and maintenance, they are designed to provide long-lasting performance.
We understand your frustration and disappointment, and we are sorry that the building has not met your satisfaction or expectations.

“The 6x4 Palram Canopia Hybrid Greenhouse. We would return it if we had not part built it. The frame is sturdy but the polycarbonate panels are very flimsy. 3 days trying to build it. The nuts and screw spin around when trying to tighten them as they are in awkward places.
We don't think it's worth the price that we paid.”

“As a joiner, I found the framing timber a little smaller than required 35x35 would be better, lots of the cladding nails protruding, to provide a stronger finish I have lined the inside with 9mm osb.
The double doors would be better with a decent frame, but I suppose all OK for the cost”
