“Prior to joining Girls Gone Strong, I used to do random workouts prioritizing novelty. Once I started the program, it took me awhile to get used to doing the same workouts over weeks. Overtime, I have seen the benefits of this type of program coupled with the mindset and nutrition lessons. While I didn't lose weight over the past year, it did stay steady. Furthermore, I feel like I still moved toward the goal of being healthy and having a strong exercise foundation thanks to the program. My coach was very supportive and always helped to celebrate my wins and check in on what was challenging me. I thought they would be more hands on in reviewing the reps or weights I was doing and offer specific advice but it was more reflective on the weekly check ins than what I was logging each work out. “Girls Gone String has been one of my few constants over the past years as I navigated a difficult childbirth, changing roles as my children grow and parents age, and challenges in my own health. Were it not for the initial structure that GGS provided when I first joined 5 years ago or the absolutely second-to-none personal trainers within the program (that's you, Elizabeth!) who met me where I was through my second and third rounds in the program, I would not be where I am today.
I started out wanting guidance on what to do for exercising at home. Then, I wanted to work hard to understand myself and the important lessons I hadn't learned earlier in life. Finally, in this past year, I came to the program knowing I was finally ready to give myself the attention that I gave to everyone else in my life.
