“Had to return it because the quality of the finish was not to standard for a part that cost £70+
I understand it is 3d printed and that the printing process leaves a textured finish as the filament is layered but the item I received had large amounts of flashing that should be trimmed off in the finishing process. As a result, I did not find the part good value for money and returned for a refund. I cannot comment on the functionality as I did not use the part. I had to pay for return shipping.”
“I came across this attachment whilst searching for a solution for sanding edges using my Festool ETS EC 150 orbital sander (Festool only provide a dedicated edge sanding attachment for the ETS EC 125 orbital).
Whilst I'm happy that I was able to find a solution, and opted to purchase the 90° option for a total delivered price of £91.74, the product that arrived was disappointing.
I was aware before purchase that the product I was buying had been made on a 3-D printer, but no effort has been made to 'finesse' the finished product, literally taken off the printer and placed in a box for delivery. The edges are unfinished and corse, and the whole item has a feel of cheapness about it. If it had cost £30, I wouldn't complain, but at nearly £100, I expect more.
The official Festool attachment for the ETS EC 125 sander has a better finish, complete with adjustability and is available currently for £128 delivered. A more realistic spec for the price, and all I can compare to in this niche market.
Setting aside the finish of the product, the actual operation is unrefined, assembling the attachment to the sander can be fiddly and problematic due to the diameter of the bracket and shortness of the attached clasp. Once attached though, it seems to remain in place fairly well, although there is a small amount of flex between the two, so care still needs to be taken, although the end result is far superior to edges sanded without.
To summarise, one of the few options for turning your Festool ETS EC 150 into a reasonably competent edge sander. In my opinion though, overpriced for what you get in comparison to other comparable products. To remain at this price, an improved finish, assembly capability and greater adjustability options are required.
Or simply lower the price to £30 to reflect the lack of.
I had ordered my attachment as a requirement for a project I was undertaking at the time, so had no option other than to use it, which is why the attachment was not returned.
In all other aspects of my interactions with ILUKA tools, I was satisfied, website, ordering, communication and delivery all worked well.”
HI Daniel,
We are sorry you feel this way about the product. If you would like to return the edge sander then we can refund you, even if it has been used.
Many thanks,
Dan
“I discovered that Festool do an edge sanding attachment for their small cordless machine but are not available for the larger mains powered sanders. I was pleased to find your range of attachments and bought one for my Rotex. It does the job really well and saves time with improved accuracy. Very clever use of technology to provide a niche product at a reasonable price”
“I have been using the 90° Edge Sander for the Mirka Deros in my workshop for some time.
I am very satisfied with this device, it is a great help in my work and the results are very satisfactory.
Normally I do not do such a thing, but the good experience with this product allows me to recommend it to other users who need help with 90° grinding.”
“A very well made piece of kit. This attachment makes sanding narrow edges easy and accurate. Reasonably priced I think and shipping was quite quick given that I am in Australia. I would recommend this product without hesitation.”
“I was lucky enough to win one of the the 90 degree attachments in a recent competition although I had been looking to purchase one for ages. Once it arrived and I started using it I wish I had ordered it sooner it enables really crisp, clean edges and we can even let the apprentice do these now with this product with no fear of it going wrong
I would and will recommend it to anyone”
