“Purchased a SIM from Lyca Mobile on a very cheap deal. Received the New SIM card within a couple of days. Put in a transfer request for my old mobile number to be transferred to the new Lyca number. Have now been waiting nearly 3 weeks for my old number to be transferred which should only take a couple of days. Emailed Lyca customer services on a number of occasions, get replies back after a number of days saying they are investigating it but they don't seem to be doing much to resolve the issue. Also called their customer service number on a few occasions to resolve same issue and have had to wait over 40 minutes for someone to answer. All they say is they need to investigate it. Still waiting for my old number to be transferred, so I am probably missing important phone calls. Also the network seems to have lost connection on a number of occasions since I have been with them. I do not recommend Lyca.”

“New customer here. Can't phone my daughter as the correct number I dial says 'you've dialled an incorrect number '. Sending SMS messages is hit and miss. App no longer works so unable to check my usage. Receive messages saying I've had a missed call when the call hasn't reached my phone. Dialling a number often takes twice as long thanks to a pregnant pause before I hear the ringing. I could go on.”

“I'm uncertain whether Lyca is the worst telecom provider in the UK or if all other providers have similar issues. I purchased Lyca's National Plus plan a month ago, but the bundle hasn't been allocated to my SIM. Since I've updated this number everywhere, including NI, banks, and other portals, I have no choice but to retain it. I've been contacting their customer care for a month to restore my package, as money has been deducted from my account. Despite multiple follow-ups, the issue persists, and I've been repeatedly told it will be resolved in a couple of days. I'm unsure whom I should escalate this matter to for a resolution.”

Obviously it is a very simple and user friendly process to sign up to, pay for, and request a pay monthly sim. Call me cynical but if this part of the process was a nightmare, you wouldn’t even go there… and they don’t want that do they…
Once the sim finally arrives c/o Royal Mail (who seem to be having their own problems lately) then the ‘fun’ begins.
