“Excellent coffee, truly excellent service. But let down twice now by delivery problems. On the last occasion (Post Office!!) the driver claimed he could not find the house and left the parcel at the local sub-post office where he was given an argument by the postmistress for not doing his job properly. Exacerbated by sending me an untrue email stating that a note had been left in my letterbox.”

“I have been drinking this coffee since sainsbury's stocked it and have been buying direct from Modern Standard since they stopped selling the brand. Last year it deteriorated quite a lot but this year it has become very enjoyable again. I drink Ethiopia Kongo Co-operative. I haven't tried the others.”

“good coffee, but I find it inexplicable that their bags are not recyclable. I've switched to a roaster whose bags are even compostable. The shop is in England, so ordering it involves more food miles than Modern which are about 20 miles from me, so there's a trade-off, but this makes more sense to me. The coffee is at least as good. Otherwise though, the Modern guys were pleasant and efficient.”

“Good coffee but the way you have to open the sachet spills coffee everywhere. Why not just have a bag?”

“Coffee is second to none, it’s perfect for us. Fresh and delivered in 1-2 days (strikes allowing). However they penalise for buying under a subscription. Paying for 12 months upfront is just under 20% more expensive than ordering monthly manually.”
