“The price compared to the things we get are the best thing. A big bonus is that Kontakt is not needed.
The libraries I use the most are Cinepiano, Voces8, Tina Guo Aucustic Cello.
You could probably add more China flutes.”
“Oh yeah, I have some thoughts.
I feel like I was being sold to all the Cinesamples libraries when, in reality, it's not really there (at least at the moment).
We're told that mic position’s we're planned to come in the 1st half of 2024.
There's quite a bit of quality control issues with a lot of libraries.
I think the scripting can be a lot better.
I would love to see the users have access to a lot more tweakability (if not the entire backend).
I don't really understand why Musio is working on releasing new instruments when they haven’t perfected the instruments they already have. although I respect that I got all those instruments as a Musio1 user.
TLDR: I think Musio has a lot of potential if the team’s focuses there energy in the right place’s.”
“Great software. Just missing some features that make it more useful in a professional setting such as mic positions. Some of the legatos (cine brass core horns and cinestrings core violins for example) either sound unnatural or have artifacts in the background. Overall though I use it every day and love the simplicity of the engine etc.”
“I love all the Different Unique VSTs and sounds that are provided! Definitely worth the money! I do wish there were better Brass sounds, especially since the music I make is orchestrated. Brass sounds with high definition would be a great add on that I could add in the future! Looking forward to the next update.”
“Excellent bang for the buck. Ideal for composers on a budget and for people just getting started with midi programming. Also ideal for collaborative work where numerous composers need the same libraries since it doesn't require a large investment or expensive rigs. In general it struggles at a professional level due to lack of mic position options, limited dynamic range of orchestral instruments, especially low dynamics, and not the most realistic legato engine compared to certain competitors.”
“Great sounds and playability, but the lack of mic positions this late into the game is frustrating. I also want adsr controls on more patches, as playing tenuto on some of these cause the whole note to ring out during a phrase..”
“I like the accessibility being able to run the sample libraries. The access to Cineperc is amazing and I love using all the hybrid/synth stuff. Lastly, the pianos are in my template as the sound is high-quality
However, the noticeable differences between the Musio and Kontakt versions is what keeping me from diving deeper into other libraries. The legatos on Cinebrass don’t feel right to play and the lack of mic positions hinder my ability to make melody lines with the library.”
“A good selection of sounds but the playability does not compare to the original Cinesamples Kontakt Instruments. Brass, Strings, Winds and Perc generally sound weak and empty compared to the originals. They are quiet even when maxxed velocity and modulation in comparison. You dont seem to be able to change the room mix of the intrument anymore. Not a good enough substitution.”
“I would like the Pitch Control; (the wheel on the right of the Expression Control), could be automated, so it would be very good if it had it in CC1, and if it was busy, in one of the available CCs.
In general, adapt it to be controlled by hardware or automation.”
