“I always have the best experience with My Per Chicken. The site is easy to use and the information about each breed is spot on. This is my second flock with MPC and it went just as smooth as the first. I was even super annoying and added a chick after I had placed my original order without a problem. I did however lose a chick for the first time this order after a week. I ordered a silkie Easter egger cross and she just never really got super healthy. That’s just nature though and no fault of My Pet Chicken. If you’re a newbie or an experienced chicken fan, this is the place for you!”

“I absolutely love this company! I have placed two orders with them and have been extremely satisfied both times. All of the chicks arrived on time and were healthy and alive. In contrast, I have ordered from other companies and only received 2 out of 12 live chicks, so this has been a very positive experience for me. The customer service provided by this company is excellent. When I found an offer from them for new chicks that were shipping out the same day as my most recent order, they worked with me to add them and avoid an additional shipping charge, which is a huge plus in this economy. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to order chicks”

“I received my blue egg laying Silkie chicks slightly early which was awesome! I picked them up from the post office and could hear them peeping in line all the way from the back office! They are vigorous chicks and though they are roughly a week + old now, I could not be happier. I have purchased chicks at feed stores and ended up with bio security issues but so far these chicks are very healthy and I plan to buy more in the future. Besides hatching your own, this is the best way to go.”

“I cannot say enough good about the order of Easter Chicks we received a week ago. There were six chics on the order and we recd all in excellent shape. When I went to the post office to pick them up I was pleased to hear the lady tell me she had been hearing the chirping in the back room. We are thinking of adding a couple of ducks before long. “My Pet Chicken is a great business, I've successfully ordered many chicks for 15 years. The customer service people are all knowledgeable and very nice to talk to. I had a problem with the postal delivery, they never called me that the chicks were delivered and on my front porch as the shipping label clearly stated for them to do. I made a formal complaint to USPS.”

“I was really nervous about mail ordering chicks. I ordered 3 Easter egger chicks for the broody I couldn’t break. They came next day, peeping away and healthy. It was like opening a present! All 3 are different colors, and they bring me joy waddling along with the rest of my flock. Would definitely use this company again.”

“I didn’t have any issues with my order. All chicks arrived healthy and the order process was very easy. Shipping was a little challenging as usps does not keep tracking info up to date so it was difficult to plan around. The chicks arrived the day after the tracking information said they would and no one was home. Fortunately I saw the very confused mailwoman drop a peeping box on the doorstep via security camera and a family member was able to stop by to put them in the brooder. Not my pet chicken’s fault but it’s helpful to know that when ordering chicks it’s good to have someone near the house every day during the week they’re supposed to arrive. You can’t rely on the tracking.”

While we are happy to hear that your little ones are doing well and arrived safely, we were a bit surprised that the chicks were delivered to your home as they are supposed to be held at the post office for you to pick them up to ensure their safety and health. Thankfully all turned out well! For any possible future orders, upon receiving the tracking number information, perhaps call your local post office and request that they not deliver any live birds to your residence but call you for pick up. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us and we will always do our best to help!

“We had some bad luck, but My Pet Chicken offered excellent customer service along the way. We originally ordered four chicks (one of the four we ordered didn't hatch as expected, so we had to swap one out the morning of shipment). When our little ones arrived, one had already died en route (blue splash marans), and one was very weak (blue silkie bantam). Despite all of our care, the weak chick died within 48 hours. My Pet Chicken worked with us to plan a reshipment order (we had to order three more instead of two, since that's the minimum). Once again on hatch day, one chick didn't hatch as expected, so we had to switch one breed out, but it was no problem in this case. Then, when our chicks arrived, we didn't get what we ordered. We received two chicks of the same breed by mistake and was refunded the price of the chick we'd tried to order but didn't get. Thankfully, they were all alive and healthy. Fast forward one month or so and one of our five chicks (lavender dream Easter egger) has since gotten very sick. She is on antibiotics and can't walk, so we have her in a sling on vet's orders. We are so hoping she pulls through. I spent so much time throughout all of this emailing and messaging with My Pet Chicken, and I found every single person who helped me along the way to be very kind and helpful. I don't hold the company responsible for most of the circustances above (except the wrong chick in our reshipment order), although sometimes I wonder if it had been easier and less emotionally taxing to buy chicks at a local feed store. However, I'm in love with our five chicks (French wheaten marans, lavender dream Easter egger, buff orpington, and two green queen bantams that look completely different—one silkied and one barred), and I know we couldn't have gotten such a unique flock from a typical feed store. I do recommend this company if you're looking for unique chicken breeds. However, just prepare yourself for possible hiccups along the way.”

Thank you for a very detailed and honest review of My Pet Chicken. We're sorry about the mix up at the hatchery. Although we do our best to get all the orders correct, mistakes happen from time to time and sometimes the chicks decide to be extra athletic and hop in a different box. It doesn't happen often, but we do refund for those types of mistakes when it does. We all own a flock and understand what it means to have the perfect birds for your flock, and we hope that you'll continue to look to us for all your flock's needs.

“My Pet Chicken has an excellent assortment of breeds and low per breed minumums that make a colorful and diverse flock possible for the home chicken lover. While 4 of the 6 days olds I received had some issues with "pasting up" upon arrival, close observation and regular care cleared it up in a few days. My girls are a little over a week old and are growing and thriving beautifully!”

“From the moment I began this adventure of exploring the idea of raising chickens, MPC has been consistently by my side. Whether it's an article, an online chat, or a phone conversation, my questions have been answered thoroughly. The learning curve is steep, but I feel confident knowing I have support from your company to answer all my questions. As of today, my chicks have been here a week. They are thriving. They were peeping and active when I opened their transport box and they've continued to thrive. They are strong and sassy, curious and silly. “Out of the 7 I ordered I received 6 so I was reimbursed for the missing one. One is ill and is likely dying no idea why and another has a deformity on the eyelid but the other 4 look great.”
