“Totally suited to what I was looking for as I needed to be able to complete it in my own time. I found the counselling diploma content was comprehensive and gave me a good base of understanding and confidence that I have been able to apply in the workplace. I found all online staff were accessible, pleasant and easy to deal with. The platform occasionally had issues but nothing that wasn't sorted within a few days. Fellow students were incredibly supportive. Overall a very positive experience.”

“I was quite happy with my Certificate IV in Bookkeeping course. While it was very challenging it did give a good insight of the necessities to set up a small business for those people who wish to set up their own business rather than apply for big firms.”

“Open Colleges was great it allowed me to balance my study, work and family life. I would just suggest more imprt with Prac. I ended up having to do an extra 80hrs due to miss commutations and issues with organisation Le having a large number of documents and huge process required before starting. My work placement said the work load requirements on them were more than any other university and they will never take on another Open Colleges. It would have also been nice to have a Perth based assessor to physically come and assess us on site. On a plus I mated to get myself an amazing job working as a SNR Peer Worker working with Mifwa out in the Community outpatient clinics.”

“The learning is invaluable and I call on it everyday in my job. While OC was perfect for my situation, online 24/7 education comes with big challenges namely instant support with questions at the time you are studying. The biggest help is to form a Facebook chat with peers for a more immediate support group out of business hours. My connections through the Facebook group got me through the tough modules and I secured placement through a fellow member.”

“The course I enrolled in was perfect for me as exactly at the time of enrollment I experienced a sudden health crisis and had to be indoors most of the day. I would have gone crazy if I wouldn't have had this interesting course to work through and it certainly enriched my life. Some teachers were quicker to grade than others but my overall experience was great. I really enjoyed the prac as well.”
