“The quality of the chicken is great, the ethical mission behind the company is a huge attraction, and the price is really decent for what you're getting. My only complaint is with the packaging - so much plastic, including foam inserts. I know this is one of the challenges of being a company that tried to deliver convenience in the modern age, and there are ecological impacts of shipping straight to my door as it is, but I've seen 100% recyclable, paper-based cooler packaging on the non-dairy ice cream I ordered, so if they can find a way with a frozen product that can't be allowed to thaw, I'm sure it can be done for chicken too.”
“My neighbor recommended Pasturebird to me after I was talking about how the chicken from the grocery store was like eating an old rubber tire. So glad she did because this chicken is so tender and tasty. I’m now only buying Pasturebird.”
“In today’s world, it has become incredibly difficult to find sustainably and humanely raised meats that are not enhanced with growth hormones, held in mass production facilities, tiny cages or fed a GMO/pesticide/herbicide containing cocktail. Labeling is often not well defined and poorly regulated. “Organic” and “all natural” become meaningless as it doesn’t define under which circumstances they live and so on. Unless you can see with your own eyes how labels translate into reality, they remain meaningless.
Pasture bird resembles the exact opposite to large scale commercial chicken farming. They are a truly transparent local business unlike any other that puts sustainability and regenerative farming as well as animal welfare first, which is what we love most about it. Chickens are raised the way they are supposed to be raised, on open pasture.
We have entirely gone away from eating any other chicken, other than pasture bird for those reasons and it has become our sole source for both us and our exotic feline who consumes at least 4-5 lbs meat per week. The fact that the chicken is tested and confirmed glyphosate free is an added bonus. Needless to say, taste, packaging, fast shipping are always on point. I love the transparency of the business and am looking forward to doing a farm tour In today’s world, it has become incredibly difficult to find sustainably and humanely raised meats that are not enhanced with growth hormones, held in mass production facilities, tiny cages or fed a chemical and GMO containing cocktail. “The skin-on bone-in chicken breasts are even better than the ones I grew up eating in the 1950’s. I feared I would never taste good chicken again until I ordered from Pasturebirds. Tasty, full of flavor, juicy AND healthy. Required no seasoning other than a little avocado oil, salt and pepper. Couldn’t ask for better chicken. Thank you!”
“I am getting no communication regarding an order I placed before Christmas to be sent to my son in Chicago. At first the tracking showed he would receive the order that was shipped 12/26 and then the tracking stopped the day before delivery. I've inquired via email and Meredith has been no help in tracking and giving me information as to what happened to my son's order and when, if ever, he will receive the gift I ordered. Her last communication was on 1/4/23....a week ago. I realize that the holidays and bad weather have hampered deliveries but the lack of updates leaves me feeling that you guys really don't care. Sad...because I really enjoy your chicken and wanted to share that experience with my son as well.

“Our first order was just delivered and we tried the bone-in chicken breast! Omg.. moist & tender meat and the crispy skin.. yummmm. And… they’re a transparent company showing you the goings on of the (chickens) business ..love that especially now days when you have no idea where your foods coming from! I definitely wanna keep supporting this small biz! Guys, Get your order in!!”
“My family, immediate and extended, has used pasturebird for over a year. We love them and their customer service is outstanding. Always great quality and they make pasture-raised chicken affordable for our family on a budget. As someone who used to grow their own meat chickens, I can say with confidence their quality is unmatched.”
“I'm very pleased with the quality and flavor of the chicken. It is among the best I have ever had. And, knowing it is being raised in a more natural and healthy environment makes it a healthier option for me and my family. One constructive suggestion would be regarding the plastic packaging which seems rather thin. I'm ordering a bulk amount of chicken for my freezer and I'm not confident that the thin plastic packaging is sturdy enough for long term freezer storage. It would be great to see thicker packaging.”
“The chicken was very good. Very tasty. However, I later read that this company is actually owned by Perdue. I was very disappointed to hear that. I'm not sure I can believe the chicken is, or will stay, range free, etc. So I canceled my recurring order.”
“Great service! Our order box is always packaged mindfully. Pasturebird is delicious, quality chicken that my family and I know is healthy, unadulterated and without harmful, unnecessary ingredients!”
