“1940s style dress, gloves and back seam tights. Tights laddered first day when using bathroom, gloves very small. Loved dress but poppers constantly came undone although bought a size larger than usual.”

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. It's unfortunate to hear that you've had one or two issues with the items you purchased - these aren't things we've heard often from customers. The press studs on the Summer Harvest dress are a feature copied from the original 40s dress for authenticity.

“I’m honestly quite disappointed given the high price of this item. The quality is undeniably very high, it’s light and warm and clearly good-quality wool. But the colours are much more pastel than all of the photos (I know colours are difficult to get exact, but this isn’t even particularly close). The fit is also quite loose and baggy, not at all “curve hugging”. I’m a size 10/12 generally and bought a S, and it’s still longer and looser than I wanted. I’m disappointed because all of this could be easily fixed with better photos and product description, which doesn’t seem a big ask at this price point.”

Hi Jessica, thanks for your review. We do include a model image to illustrate the fit - it will depend on your figure as to how it fits of course. Previous reviews have found the imagery to be accurate in terms of colour, but it will depend on your screen.

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. We state the inside leg length of each of our trouser styles in their descriptions - we do not claim they are suitable for all heights, but some styles do have some excess fabric in the turnup that can potentially be used to alter them longer, and many of our customers also choose to have them shortened. It's unfortunate that your purchase didn't work out this time but thanks for giving us a try regardless.

“I was so looking forward to receiving the dress as I loved the pictures of it but unfortunately was very disappointed. It was surprisingly tight across the chest for the size and the buttons were actually false with poppers on the underside. The main issue was with the fabric however which was supposedly cotton but which was 'plasticky' and rustly and reminded me of a wipeable tablecloth. This may have improved on washing but I obviously wouldn't have been able to then return had it not. For some reason I'd expected the item to be British made so was also disappointed to see that it was made in China. Reluctant to order anything else due to return costs.”

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. It's unfortunate to hear that you were disappointed with your Harmony dress. We do clearly state in the description that the dress is fastened with press studs, not the front buttons, as we replicate originals exactly and this was a feature of the true vintage 1940s dress we replicated. The fabric of the dress is indeed cotton but as we note in the description, it has been glazed in the process of replicating the original 40s print, which slightly alters the texture. “1940s Vintage Granville Herringbone Wool Bag Trousers in Navy Blue, as well as a grey pair, 1940s Vintage Granville Herringbone Wool Waistcoat in Grey & Grey & Blue Stripe Braces with Blue Leather Loops. Made this order on the 26th June 24, arrived on the 28th of June. Box undamaged, clothes packed well, quality of fabric, exellent. My husband takes a 34" waist but i ordered 32 as suggested, they fit perfectly, I must add, I love vintage, he was not sure, for himself, but his mind has now been changed! He say's, they feel great and fit like a glove and oves the look... I will return and purchase more as soon as they are in stock (Granville trousers in black)”

“Unfortunately I had to return the two dresses I ordered , simply because even though they were the correct size certain areas of the dresses just didn't sit right either because proportion wise and area like the shoulders of the bolero top were to big and would of had to of added padding ,and the elastic waist gather had too much material which made it stand out,the designs are lovely, but it's not easy making this style or garment and making it fit all shapes,even though woman are shall we say a size 12 they are not always a size 12 in all places . Ladies like me really need to go to the supplier and try otherwise wise we're spending a lot of money returning garment but thankyou love your designs.wish I lived closer then I could come in and try on.”

“Not worth the price - go to a thrift store and try to find something similar. Item arrived and stitching immediately started fraying under the left sleeve, bottom of the shirt, and the right shoulder. Garment seems unfinished. It's vintage looking fast fashion for steep prices. If I had more time before the event I purchased this for, I would've looked for something else and returned this. Buy at your own risk.”

We've looked all across our platforms and have been unable to find any correspondence from you - we would never deliberately ignore a complaint from a customer. It's disappointing to hear you were unhappy with how the product arrived. We aim to use both environmentally friendly and cost-effective packaging for our products. We do take great pride in our products, but unfortunately, the way the trousers are handled by couriers once they leave us is outside our control, and sometimes wrinkling is unavoidable.

“Well tailored and true to style trousers. Regretfully arrived in plastic bag so badly creased looked more like a bundle of rags. Nightmare to sort as whoever had originally pressed them must have had eyes closed, front seams completely wrong. Really not what one expects for £90 expenditure and begs question of who cares about quality and reputation at seller.”

Hello, thank you for your feedback. It's disappointing to hear you were unhappy with how the product arrived. We do aim to use environmentally friendly packaging, so our product packaging bags are fully recyclable and our mailer bags are compostable. We do take great pride in our products, but unfortunately, the way the trousers are handled by couriers once they leave us is outside our control, and sometimes wrinkling is unavoidable. We do also deliberately select fabrics that are easy to care for by customers. I'm glad to hear you still liked the tailoring and design of the trousers.

“The suit I pre-ordered and loved the look off , came today. The quality did not disappoint , however the fit or rather my body with that fit did. A bigger size will not even remedy the problem so sadly I must return it and remember that my stomach is too big for a style like that. Kind regards, Tineke”
